My fiancée and I travelled to Rome...

My fiancée and I travelled to Rome to plan our wedding last November. Upon visiting the hotel, having been recommended Quirinale by the Irish priests from feedback received from previous wedding parties at the nearby San Silvestro chapel, and meeting with the lovely Sarita from "Reservations", our decision to stay there was a very simple one. Especially given the excellent value they afforded us as we chose to have our wedding guests stay there and have our food after the ceremony in comparison to other hotels we had visited. My advice to you certainly is book in advance either on the hotel website or telephone the hotel directly as there are big savings to be had rather than paying the price quoted upon arrival at hotel reception.
Upon our earlier than expected arrival on 04th July '07, our rooms weren't ready but some reception staff tried hard to facilitate us as best they could. It appeared that others however may have become 'battle-hardened' with complaining guests and could use either a break themselves or refresher training in customer relations.
The foyer and lounge areas are particularly impressive. Food served there is of good quality but expect to pay handsome prices for bar alcoholic/soft drinks for the comfort of the luxurious surroundings of this public area.
We had 13 sets of guests staying with us. I heard no descenting voices whatsoever as to the quality of the rooms provided. The bridal (junior) suite my wife and I were given was particularly impressive. Even better when we received our wedding night free. It was exceptionally spacious, beautifully decorated, clean and the bed very comfortable.
Quirinale is situated at the top of 'Via Nazionale' one of the Eternal City's main arterial routes. Few could comment than other to say that it indeed enjoys a fabulous location. Bus stops are located literally at the front door with all the main tourist attractions of Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Coliseum and even the Vatican within walking distance.
For me the most enjoyable aspect of our stay at Hotel Quirinale was the quality of the food provided at the wedding feast. 37 people returned to have exclusive access to the garden where serving food and drinks commenced at 18.00. We remained there totally uninterrupted until 02.30 with the added pleasure that none of our gusts put their hands into their pockets to pay for drinks as the hotel supplied no less than 50 bottles, yes, you got it right 50!! Bottles of wine and countless fizzy drinks for the kids included in the price of the meal. If you chose to have your meal there, please ask to have the "Strawberry & Champagne Sorbet" - Absolutely fabulous.
We regularly had breakfast in the terrace above the garden. It is seen by many to be the most important meal of the day and undoubtedly there was quality food there in abundance to suit all tastes.
All agreed that the accommodation and food provided by Quirinale was outstanding and provided many of our guests with the most memorable wedding they had attended. I feel very fortunate to have discovered this hotel. I undoubtedly will return to enjoy the many splendours of Rome and unquestionably would recommend this hotel to anyone considering a trip to the Italian capital. We most definitely will be back to resample the many delights of Quirinale.

The hotel is in a good location on...

The hotel is in a good location on Via Nationale for all the major sites if you are happy to walk or use the metro nearby.
The foyer and public rooms are very grand with food and bar prices to match. Staff were efficient but not very friendly.
Our room was beautiful though it was very hot and there must be a train line underneath, as the room vibrated a lot especially if you stand with your bare feet on the wooden floor!
Breakfast was fantastic, continental and full English which was included in the cost of our stay.
I wouldn’t pay the rack rate but we paid about £80/night B&B which was excellent value for money.
