I am a dj from England who went to...
9 / 10
Apr 2007, Mr A Pickering

I am a dj from England who went to Kusadasi with my girlfriend and what can I say I will be going back!
One thing we did notice was people turning up and expecting the Hilton bearing in mind that most of us only paid £250.00 for a fortnight in July.
When we arrived we were greeted by Abraham and Hellen and they make you feel like more than a guest, they give you local knowledge about the best spots, how to haggle down the markets which saved me $$££, eating out spots etc etc
For a Muslim country they do make you feel looked after (no religion in your face or dodgy looks because your girlfriend is walking about practically naked), if you want bacon and eggs go to the many restaurants that sell these.
For me food is very important and the Filling Station is the best in Kusadasi, maybe not the Ritz but defo the best value and food. They have pictures all over the wall from previous guests. I gave them one and you would to because they take the time to get to know each person, just dining there would prove this to you.
Abraham and his family own quite a lot of stuff in Kusadasi including silver sand beach
his cousin also owns Angles bar in bar street, which music is chart and hip hop which I hate, but the mad antics like flame throwing shows, nutters doing break dancing and back flips off the bars kept me going back ,not to mention the buy one get one free on all drinks offer.
There are 4 main beaches that I can remember.
Jade. Gold. Diamond (good for water sports) and Silver Sand (Abrahams uncle owns the whole beach, now what rouge trader so to speak would make sure you got free lifts to and from the beach at your leisure?!)
I’m not going to go on much more and don’t write reviews much to be honest the only reason I found this site was because I’m looking for a contact number for the Zorlu so I can stay there again this year, now why would I and many people want to go back to a so called hell hole.
The above may seem like a plug but this is just what happened during my stay and I were no different from you, so go to Zorlu for a good laugh with people who care. Nuff said.

Mar 2007, Mrs Karen Dixon

I loved this hotel, yes it was basic but the friendliness of Helen, Ibriham and the rest of staff made my holiday for me.
They couldn’t do enough for us whilst we were there, everyone in the hotel was friendly to each other but you got the odd guest who wasn’t. But nobody worried about them.
Everyone else had a lot of fun at the hotel...and like people say Turkish 2* isn't like English 2* and you do get what you pay for.
I for one will be going back there with my family and my friends.
Can’t wait to see you all again back at the Zorlu.

When we arrived in May, me, my mum...

Mar 2007, Miss Emma Dixon

When we arrived in May, me, my mum and brother, we got off the coach and thought is this it?
As soon as we walked in Helen and Abraham and the boys helped us with our cases to our room. 3rd floor!
When we come back down stairs we were made so welcome by everyone it was great. Not many hotels do that!
The first week was great we all got on. By the end of the second week we knew it was time to come home but because we loved the hotel that much we stayed 18 days longer.
In that four weeks our room was cleaned every 2 days bin was emptied every 2 days, if we wanted more towels or another pillow we asked and we got them straight away.
The pool was little but cleaned every night we were there.
As I was pregnant the staff were so helpful and always asked if I needed anything.
After the 18 days were up we were gutted to be coming home.
After 4 weeks I and my mum went back.
Every night I was there the pool was cleaned the rooms were done every 2 days and Stuart the rep was fantastic. He was so much help.
How people can say this hotel is rubbish and not clean is unbelievable, it’s fantastic and is clean all the time. The staff are helpful too, people should be grateful for this as in most hotels you wouldn’t get this.
People just think because its 2 star it should be perfect but it’s better than any 5star.

I have to say to start off, this was...
10 / 10
Mar 2007, Miss K Lockhart

I have to say to start off, this was the best holiday I’ve ever been on!
We flew into Bodrum airport in the early hours. It was the three of us, me, my best mate [both 16 at the time] and her mum.
When we got outside there were about 6 coaches and loads of people. None of the coaches were ours; we were told ours was on our way. So we stood and waited with about 6 other people who were told the same.
Eventually all the coaches left, along with the reps. so we were left at about 4am, outside the airport. Eventually after about 2hours waiting, a minibus turned up.
We arrived at zorlu hotel about 7am. We were greeted by the owner Abram and some of the staff. They carried our cases inside for us.
Our first impressions were not good. We were told the hotel was a 3* later to find out it was 1*.
When we got to our room it was small, but cosy. Me and my friend didn’t know what else to do but laugh...so we did.but her mum was dissapointed and cried.
After we got over all this, we had an awesome time. The hotel was so close to bar street, restaurants, shops, beaches, and markets.
The staff were also very helpful and very friendly. We got talking to other guests and soon made friends. One of the guys we met had his birthday while we were there, so the staff organised a party, with food, cake and dancing, and hired a belly dancer, which was brilliant.
We really enjoyed the fact that, if we had been out that night, we could come back, and people were still up to talk to. We could still use the pool. It was like an all round party. But we still managed to get some sleep because it wasn’t too noisy.
The pool was nice and very clean...very relaxing.during the day they would play music [if you had cds with you, they would allow you to play yours sometimes] while you were sitting by the pool, very relaxing and chilling.
Overall we met a whole load of great people. The friendly staff who went out of there way to help us made our holiday what it was...the best ever! So many memories.
Although, not much can be said for our rep...Non existent I'd say. We never saw him once...tried to contact him, not such luck, but who needs him when you have no complaints!
I loved every minute of it! But it’s not for young children in my opinion. Or older people looking for a quiet holiday.
Hotel zorlu is a 1* so you should expect that...not moan about it!
Thanks to all the staff for making this the best holiday of a lifetime!!

I went to Kusadasi twice last year,...
10 / 10
Feb 2007, Kerri_louise

I went to Kusadasi twice last year, I'm a frequent traveller to Turkey.
Originally I was supposed to stay in the Nilay in may 2006 (now that was a dive) as I had stayed there in the Oct previously, but we were transferred to the Zorlu, I have no complaints with the hotel the pool was cleaned every day.
As for breakfast, well, having been in my teens I dint get up lol, but we were up once for an excursion and the food looked plentiful, I just couldn’t stomach it.
The staff were amazing they really made the holiday for me and my sister, so we returned in October as well, and within being back for less than 24hours I booked to go back for may 2007.
Helen and her husband were amazing and very helpful, there youngest boy Dennis was always smiling! (Helen is also from Liverpool NOT Wales) and Mehmet was always helpful along with all the family. Myself and Sophie look forward to seeing you in May.
P.S for good food there is Albertos just around the corner from the Zorlu, with another bar/cafe opening in Centrum called Daddy’s. I’d recommend going to both places. See you soon!

We went on holiday to Kusadasi with...
10 / 10
Dec 2006, Mr M Stephenson

We went on holiday to Kusadasi with friends in May and stayed at the Zorlu hotel.
We had no problems with the rooms, they were clean when we arrived and cleaned daily while we were there.
Yes you have to leave your key at reception but we assumed that was used as an indication that the room was not occupied and could be cleaned. Our towels and bedding was changed regularly and was spotlessly clean.
This is a family run hotel and most of the staff are family. They were very friendly and only to happy to give you any help or advice you needed.
Breakfast was plentiful, tea/coffee, bread and butter, boiled eggs, fresh tomatoes, olives, cheese, jam and marmalade. It was never suggested, nor did we expect a full “English” breakfast.
We have a lot we could complain about. When we arrived at Bodrum the reps there told us we were down for flight only so they could not let us on the coach to the hotel despite showing them the letter of confirmation of booking. Eventually they said we could have the transfer but would have to pay £18 per person 6 of us so that was £108, which we did eventually get back 9 days later.
When we arrived at the hotel they had not been informed of our booking and had no rooms allocated to us. We showed them the confirmation and they were only to happy to give us rooms and we could sort the problem out with the rep in the morning. But what has this to do with the Zorlu, nothing, this is a problem with Goldtrail which the staff at the hotel were good enough to sort out for them.
It was about 4:30am when we arrived at the hotel and after all the hassle at the airport and having to prove our booking at the hotel our friends youngest son just wanted to go home, but because of the owners and staff being so friendly and helpful, at the end of our fortnight he didn’t want to go home.
We have had holidays in Turkey before but this is the first time we have been so impressed that, as a result of it being such a good holiday at a clean comfortable friendly hotel we didn’t want to wait until 2007 went back for another 2 weeks in September.
We are now looking forward to going back there next May or June again with our friends, who, unfortunately could not get there in September.

Are there 2 hotels in Kusadasi called...

Nov 2006, Mr R Beaton

Are there 2 hotels in Kusadasi called the Zorlu?
We certainly did not stay at the Zorlu that some reviewers gave a 9 or 10 rating, with the pool that is cleaned every night, helpful staff and efficient tour rep with clean rooms.
We must have stayed at the other Zorlu. The one that is noisy till 3 or 4 in the morning, filthy and all the other negative comments that the 8 holiday makers who gave a 1 mark for this hotel.
Pay a few pounds extra and stay at good hotel-hotels are good value in Turkey and there are plenty of good, clean ones. Don't necessarily take too much notice of the star rating, I have stayed at wonderful 2* hotels in Turkey, I wouldn't give the Zorlu 1*.

I stayed at the zorlu hotel in...
9 / 10
Nov 2006, Miss S Murphy

I stayed at the zorlu hotel in September to October, can I just say it really was the best holiday ever & I'm not easy pleased! Yes its a Turkish 2*hotel & the staff were so friendly & made us feel real welcome.
If you wanted anything they would go out of there way to help you including Stuart the rep! The atmosphere was so warm EVERY one got along, it made you want to get up out of your bed early to join every one in the TV lounge.
The rooms are basic but very clean & tidy the pool is small but very clean, but we could not get better staff elsewhere, after a night out if we sat up late we would keep the noise down for those who were sleeping!! But just about every one was up loving the great atmosphere.
I would recommend this hotel to any one its the best, I will be going back a few times more next year so if you rush out & book Zorlu Hotel please leave a room for me.

My holiday in Turkey was fantastic...
9 / 10
Nov 2006, Miss S LAUGHER

My holiday in Turkey was fantastic due to all the staff at Zorlu Hotel.
We were greeted at the door by the manager Abrahim who helped carry our cases to the lift, we were pleased with our room which was clean and overall pleasant for 2 stars.
The Zorlu is so close to everything you need bar street, shops, markets and restaurants if you want staff to order you take away late at night or taxis its no problem, Abrahim helped me hire a car within minutes it arrived outside.
My friends and I spent all day at the poolside with excellent hospitality and service and the staff recommended places to visit for good entertainment at night which was useful.
We feel we have had value for money for being rated only as 2 star hotel (a well run family buisness).
Thank you Abrahim and family can't wait to come back.

Well I disagree with every comment...
10 / 10
Nov 2006, Miss Sophie Lamb

Well I disagree with every comment that was on the other review because I went back to the Zorlu. I went the first time in May then I went back in October 2006, and I think it is a fabulous hotel staff are friendly, polite and helpful, I found if I had a problem with any thing they would immediately help me out.
The music didn’t stay on till early hours of the morning, and people or staff members were not in the pool till 4.00am as the pool is shut off at 8pm.
The Zorlu Hotel is a fabulous place to stay and I would recommend it to any one who are wanting to travel to Kusadasi. I will be returning to kusadasi and staying in the Zorlu next may 2007, along with my sister.

I recently took a trip to the worst...
5 / 10
Nov 2006, Mr Jai Patel

I recently took a trip to the worst hotel I have ever seen, the service was awful, the staff were rude and overall the holiday was the worst I have ever been on!!!!!
On the other hand the only reason we stayed was the Rep. Our Rep was Stuart a charming young man was nothing but polite and was the most helpful and hard working person I have seen. From what he has to deal with he seems to cope phenomenally well. I think my wife and I would have never have stayed more than 2 mins at this hotel if it wasn’t for Stuart.
All in all awful place but the Rep made the holiday worth while in the end!!!!!

I dread think where and what...
2 / 10
Nov 2006, Miss J Shirrefs

I dread think where and what conditions some people live in if they can rate this hotel any higher. Yes it was cheap but so is camping.
We had our towels changed once in a fortnight and they were damp. The pool was used by young children who were relatives of the owners and staff, they took over the children's pool and splashed anyone in their way.
Overall we had a good time as we spent it out of the hotel, I would recommend the Pelican hotel for food and accommodation as they have special rates especially for British if you contact them direct.
Do not go to this hotel unless you have no standards then good luck you deserve it.
