Just arrived back from a weeks skiing in Les Arc 1800. Very disapointed, supposed to be a premium chalet but it was in bad condition and very pokey.

I have just got back from the best ski holiday ever. Ten of us went to Chalet L'Escapade in Alpe D'Huez to celebrate three of us turning the big 40. None of us had ever visited Alpe D'Huez before but it looked perfect for everyone. We were aware that the rooms were... more

Having spent a week here with a party of 26 I would advise anyone thinking of going there to do so. Before going we were aware of the small rooms etc but these in no way detracted from the overall experience. The staff from manager down were all fantastic and the food was... more

I have just returned from spending half term week at this hotel and felt the need to balance the previous review. I found the hotel and its staff perfect for a family holiday. The hotel is in an ideal position and has all the amenities that you need. The rooms albeit small,... more

Can I start by saying do NOT think this is a 4star or even a 3+ hotel. Its not. Its a catered chalet, and probabaly a 2 star one at that. I have just returned from 1 weeks stay and could not wait to get out of the place. The staff are fine. The bedroom/ensuite are a joke. I... more

We stayed over New Year, and had a fabulous time. This is a 4* Chalet - NOT a 4* Hotel! The food was brilliant -the Gala Dinner complete with Frogs Legs and Snails for canapés was a triumph! The staff were very friendly and - given notice - were able to accommodate those... more

Just returned from a fantastic week over New Year in the Escapade. The rooms are basic and small but that’s the only negative I had from the whole week. The food was really impressive every night, and they did everything they could to provide for those children who... more

I am currently staying in this chalet, which claims to be 4 star. Let me say firstly that the view from the terrace is as lovely as everyone else says, and the staff are friendly and pleasant. The rooms are small, and the bathroom is very small. We cannot get into the... more

Have just returned from a great week at Chalet Escapade with my family (14 and 11) and feel that I need to balance out some of the other comments on this site, as we nearly cancelled when we read the above. While the chalet is still under refurbishment, I can only commend... more

The hotel is advertised as "family-friendly" and offers half price places for children. It is however entirely family-unfriendly. The only concession to children is a High Tea that can be arranged (and bunk beds in a few rooms). Swing doors, smoky bar, steep icy hill to... more

I am amazed at the other reviewer’s comments. We stayed at the Chalet Escapade in March and were very disappointed with the accommodation and food. We were expected four stars and really felt we were given budget. The bar was great but the rooms were shabby and ill... more

Had a wonderful holiday staying at the L'Escapade. The Chalet hosts were very friendly and the food was fantastic. The hot tub and sauna were great after a long day snowboarding. Great location as you can ski to the door. Some decorating was still outstanding in the... more
