Sirena Delfin Hotel

We've just returned from this pathetic excuse for a holiday, feeling let down by the whole area and the principles of BH in their own head office - I can't understand why they would want to put anybody from Britain in such a German/Russian/Bulgarian-orientated hotel.
The room was tiny, badly-maintained and facing away from the Black Sea. All we had (from the 5th floor) was a view of the car park and some trees. The food available at breakfast time was not appetising at all, and consisted (from an English viewpoint at least) of the fattiest bacon I've ever seen, smoked sausages, cold baked beans and dry bread, eggs which looked as if they had been fried the day before, and tea and coffee to make your hair curl.
The town has a stray-dog problem, although the only serious issue was the barking at 4.00am every morning. There doesn't seem to be any drainage system, so any rain (of which we had monsoons on at least 6 of our 14 days) just flooded the street and footpaths, which were generally broken up and dangerous to use.
Just as well there's a wide variety of eateries within reasonable walking distance. The idea of paying for a sun bed, cushion and sun-shade at your own pool and beach was a bit of a shock, but at least you could pay for access to a 5-star hotel's facility instead of yours if you wanted to.
Disturbingly though, we heard from a couple who had been moved out of the Sirena into the 5-star Hotel Ambassador because the foundations had sunk under their room! Of course, there was no information about this for anyone else at the Sirena.
We wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, especially during late-September, when many of the shops and amenities are closing down for the winter.
