A quiet hotel with basic facilities. Popular with Germans, hence the buffet breakfast of garlic sausage & cheese. Frankfurters, scrambled egg & beans were available - but all lukewarm. Good fresh bread every morning, but no toast!
Quite a walk into nearby town of Luz, a hire car is a must. No entertainment in the hotel and you may have to wait a while to be served at the bar (bar and reception are covered by one person). Bar closes 6pm - 8.30pm whilst dinner is served.

My husband and I spent a delightful 10 day holiday here. The room was simple but clean with the most spectacular view of the gardens, pool and the sea beyond. The room was air conditioned and had a balcony. There was a small refrigerator but no other extras so bring your own hair dryer, iron etc.
The restaurant was adequate with a good buffet breakfast each morning and dinner available each evening for residents, again this was a buffet. One disadvantage was that one had to tell the staff if you were eating that evening at breakfast time, this didn't allow for spontaneous change of plans! The other slight disadvantage was that there was no facility for a 'do not disturb' sign to be left so you could have a lie in!
The staff here are excellent. Very friendly and welcoming. There is no evening entertainment which might not suit everyone and it is a fair walk into town if you do not have a hire car. All in all though I would recommend this for a quiet relaxing break away.
This is our second visit and for...

This is our second visit and for us this is the best hotel in the Algarve. The accommodation is first class, service and cleanliness second to none but the major asset is the staff .
From the owners to the girls in the bar and restaurant their attitude is absolutely superb
There are a fair number of return customers from what we see and we can quite understand why.
If you are looking for live entertainment, lots of kids attractions and local nightlife nearby then don't come here.
But if you want peace and relaxation, and be well looked after by staff with great character then this is the place for you.
