Nice Rooms for a 3* Hotel
from mexxgal
Stayed in La Floridiana in late Jun. I didn't plan to stay there initially but the other 2 hotels I wanted were full. I was a little wary as there were mixed reviews about the hotel. Was glad I booked this hotel though. The hotel was a little far from the centre of Capri Town (about 10-15 min walk) but so were most other 3-4* hotels with sea views. However, the hotel was well decorated. We had initially booked a superior room but was upgraded to a junior suite FOC as the superior room wasn't what we specified. Both the superior room and...

Great value for Capri
from worldtraveller68
I did not love the hotel, but I did love the value. There are definitely other more luxurious hotels, but it's unclear to me that the better hotels would have added that much more to Capri. Capri is a beautiful island, but things are expensive on Capri. So the Hotel La Floridiana was a welcomed reprieve from the expenses so that I could actually spend more money eating gelatos, dine, and shop at one of the uber expensive designer shops. This doesn't mean the hotel isn't nice. My friends and I shared a two-room triple, and I had...

Excellent hotel.

Highly recommended hotel. Very helpful staff who were at all times very pleasant and understanding when we discovered our travel agent had reserved a room for us on the following night and there was no availability for us on the day we arrived. After a small wait, during which we were offered complimentary drinks, the hotel very kindly gave us a junior suite at no extra charge with many apologies for its lack of a sea view! The suite was large, airy, comfortable and very clean. Prices in the hotel for drinks, minibar, etc. were very...

A relatively enjoyable experience
from hebedee
I stayed with my mother and sister for one night in April. Having read past reviews I expected a mixed reaction. As the hotel was not full we were upgraded to a junior suite from a triple superior. The front desk staff were generally helpful although one lady (who i since recognise as the lady owner from site photos) was very unpleasant when smiled at and said buongiorno to. The room was clean enough although there was a mild drain smell in the bathrooms and a little in the lower hall too. The view was excellent and the breakfast was better...

Management response from poletto
Dear Sirs,
My family and I are from 3 generations working strongly in our hotel giving our best for all our clients, sometimes we are not able to satisfy them and We apologize for that but we have many guests that come every year only to see us and enjoy with us and never since now We have seen so many defamations and falsehoods on a website that says to defend the travellers, I smile with my heart when I smile, I can't be a lyer with no one in the world. I use to sign my name and surname........ why you have not the brave to say directly to us what you think of me? of our management,? the intelligent people don't believe to your defamations.
this is the first and the last time that I'll write until people don't signe their names on their defamation letters. Come here to look the truth.......I beg your pardon for my bad English language. We are here at your disposal for everithing else
Thank you Lucia Esposito
Terrible
from A TripAdvisor Member
Staff were rude, some fixtures in the room were broken and they said they would fix it but didnt. I had some makeup and a ring taken from out of my makeup bag and the staff suddenly didnt know or understand english. Room serivce was way overpriced for the quality. Would not stay here again as there are many other nicer hotels on the Island.
Great place

We stayed at La Floridiana on September 2004 and we'll go back soon. Great room, more than what we pay. Well furnished, clean and with an amazing view on the sea. The staff is quite nice and the manager Valerio is available for any kind of request at any time, I really couldn't expect for more. Definitively I strongly recomend this 3 stars hotel it's worth more than a a 4 stars...
terrible woman

I'm so glad to have found this forum to warn other possible guests about this hotel. Sure the view is good, but that was in no way enough to make up for the truly horrible experience of staying in this hotel. When we arrived for the arranged check in time (self, Italian husband &3 kids) we were politely told the room was not ready (by a nice Italian guy). We agreed to go out for an hour, but ended taking 2 hours. On our return room was still not ready and the woman owner at the desk was very rude about it. We said we'd wait, so...

Nice hotel, but need a good Manager!
from A TripAdvisor Member
I think the person who wrote the of idyalik place and hotel review of the Floridiana hotel didn’t go there. I spent 4 horrible days with my friend George at the Floridiana hotel. Unfortunately, we couldn’t leave the hotel because we had paid in advance I’m not used to complaining so much, but this hotel is not as they advertise. What’s the problem with the Floridiana? Everything!! I still remember the holes on the towels: they looked slices of Swiss cheese!!! You can have the sea view but the sea is visible...

horrible woman
from CarloGenoa_Italy
La Floridiana is an OK three-star hotel with good views of the Mediterranean. The minor problem I experienced was the skimpy heating of the room (I was there in January!). The major problem was the owner. This lady welcomed me by saying that she did not want to accept AmEx (my reservation had been guaranteed and closed with AmEx) for payment, and she blackmailed me by saying that if I wanted to pay by credit card the rate would be higher. The next day, at check out, I said that I did want to pay by AmEx (I was not sure if the card had...

Disappointment!
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at the Hotel la Floridiana in September . It was a very big disappointment! The room looked ok but the bathroom had not been cleaned and the towels provided were dirty and the seemed like rags. The a.c. did not work. We complained about it immediately but the owner's attitude was, "oh, well, some tourists broke it." He wouldn't try to fix it and we did not apologize. We discovered that, to reach the beach, you must walk for 20 minutes to take the bus to the Marina Piccola, or alternatively walk down for...
