Before arriving at the Eurosalou I had read a few reviews, and to be honest they weren't that great. I started to dread the holiday before arriving. On arrival at the Eurosalou I was very impressed, the lobby area was very clean and tidy and we did not have to wait too... more

Hotel nice and clean, room was tiny for 2 adults and 2 kids. Had 2 double beds pushed together in one room, felt like the seven dwarfs. Food nice if you’re not fussy what you eat, plenty of selection though. Not much in the area for a night out. Had to go to centre of... more

Direct Holidays claimed that the hotelier had overbooked our original choice of accommodation and so we were sent to this dump. Vomit on the stairwells, unruly Spanish teenagers, dirty crockery/cutlery or none at all, poor selection of food, queues for food, cramped rooms... more

A wide choice of food
Fr a 3 star hotel this hotel had the best choice of food ever. Choose the grill bar at the end if you want food cooked in front of you. Buffett food sometimes only warm but what a choice. Themed meals most days. Restaurant staff excellent. Bar staff not that helpful with the English. Rooms comfortable and vvery clean. Dissapointed with pool area too small for size of hotel and entertainment in evening is around the pool but never enough chairs and tables. Luckily beach close by but about a 10minute slow walk but it is beautiful. This hotel is in the Spainish end of Salou so dont expect English bars and nightlife it is quite here. English part about 20minute walk and very lively. Plenty of transport and theme parks only 10euros by taxi away. Would go back but to another hotel with larger pool area so you did not have to go to beach to sit outside
animacion
we have recently stayed at this hotel,my wife and I. We both speak some Spanish, which is helpful at this Hotel. However,if you wish a really good,"chill out",holiday in the Sun,then, this is the one for you.The fact that it is mainly a "Spanish " hotel ,was GREAT,because you can get away from the usual complaints from Brits Abroad. You can stay a week without speaking English if you wish,However the Staff are both friendly and bi-lingual,if not tri-lingual.Food,amenities,room,swimming pool, spa, room, and Staff ,especially are very good.
Great Stay
I have just returned from Spain, my son and i stayed at the Eurosalou. I had read some of the reviews and was unsure to begin with. However the hotel was great, the food was above average and the staff were very helpful. The room was big enough for 2 people but not big enough if you had a child of over 6-8 years old as it would be cramped. This part of Salou is quite, but you are only yards from the main shops and high street. It is great for the station if you wish to get the train into Barcelona. The beach is about 700meters away, not to far in my book, and the beach and water sports on offer is fantastic. There are other hotels in Salou and Tarragones i noticed that looked great but be careful there is so much building work going on you could find that although your hotel looks great the scenery may be diggers and cranes! The Eurosalou was situated perfectly in my view and would recommend to friends and family. The water parks and Theme parks are a taxi ride away, around 10Euros per trip. The hotel had a number of guests from all countries but mainly spanish on our visit, but everyone was friendly and why go to Spain if you don't expect the Spanish to be there!! So if you have booked this hotel i am sure you won't be disappointed, relax, and enjoy I fully intend to return next year!
Great Holiday
The hotel is situated in the old town area, away from the noisier bars and clubs. It is a short walk to the beach, impressive promonade and train station. It is the nearest decent hotel to the train station, therefore you do get plenty of Spanish visitors to the hotel who come via the train, mainly from Barcelona. Plenty of Brits and other nationalities however. There are several bars and restaurants inthe area including a "British" bar. The rooms are of a good size but could use extra storage facilities. The rooms are air conditioned and have modern, good sized bathrooms with walk in showers. The food is good. Many different dishes to choose from which change each day and there are chefs dedicated to fresh pasta, pizza and griddled fish and meat dishes in addition to the hot & cold buffet selection. Breakfast was good with fresh pancakes cooked to order in addition to the usual selection. The Pool is not the largest but adequate. There could do with being more loungers for the amount of guests but difficult to see where these would be placed. Activiies are great. Instructions in Spanish and English. Had a great time with guests from Britain and other countries. Mixing with other nationalities was the biggest plus of the holiday, although some of the Spanish are very rude, selfish and ignorant of others. However, this is not true of all Spanish people and made friends with some. We had hired a car so getting to the theme park was no problem. Maybe some of the poor reviews here are because of the lack of research into the location of the hotel.
thumbs up for eurosalou
My family and i stayed at the euro salou for 10 nights from july 15th 07. Was pretty unsure about this hotel after reading all those bad reviews . All i can say is either managment have responded to your reviews or some people are hard to please . Not a bad word to say . Food was great with plenty of choice , friendly staff , hotel and pool area very clean . Cound do with a few more sunbeds but didnt realy affect us as we dont spend 24/7 at the pool. The hotel is positioned in a very nice area of Salou , near the port and a short walk to the centre and beach .10 out of 10 for eurosalou look forward to seeing you next year.
not the best
wel this hotel is not the best hotel ive ever been to.the food gets a little repatative?chips n chops most nights!but if ur not a fussy eater then u could probably find something different each night?i can not comment on the breackfast as i did not go to breakfast?me and my boyfriend ate in the resteraunte 2 nights then got bored of it so decided to go else were for food.the hotel is not ideally situated, although the beach is not to far away, the nightlife is a good 30 minute walk from hotel.the room that we stayin in was on the 3rd floor, the bathroom was nothing like it the picutes!our bath had some sort of rust at the bottom of it!the room was small but liveable?however the whole hotel seems 2 slant as when we were playin pool the balls were rolling into the pockets!also there is only two plugs in the room,1 in the bedroom n 1 in the bathroom, which was rather annoying!the pool does not open utill 10 o'clock and there was always a large que waiting too get into the pool area becauses there were no enough sun loungers for all the guests!the hotel was rather noisey when we stayed there!it did not quieting down until 1.30am!!!because this hotel is situated at the spanish end of the resort, alot of spanish people can be heared late at night shouting at each other!the entertainment in the hotel was mostly done in spanish even though there were only 5 spannish familys stayin in the hotel the rest were fron the uk or ireland!so why the choose to do it in spannish ill never know!!the entertainment goes on til aroung 12 at night?i woud never go back to this hotel!!
we all loved the eurosalou hotel !
my family and i stayed at the eurosalou in july 2007, and despite some bad reviews i read, i have to say we really loved it . the hotel was very clean [and i 'am a real clean freak] the staff very polite, and it was only a short taxi ride to portaventura, costing 7 euros. we are going to book again for next year. even my six children loved it and their age ranges from 14 to 1, so there is something for everyone and plenty evening entertainment for them to join in. i would give it a 10 out of 10.
nice stay
Was unsure about the hotel before my stay after reading the reviews already posted, but all i can say is, if you feel the need to be surrounded by bars owned by yorkshire lasses dont stay in this area. If you are happy to actually go to spain you should be fine. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel apart from the fact it was spoilt by one or two english/scottish people who made me ashamed and made me understand why we have a bad reputation. The hotel is very good and the staff helpful and friendly. They all spoke good english. If you are comfortable not being surrounded by english people all the time you will be happy here.
Wonderful time,,,,
Hubby and I booked for 3 nights at very reasonable rates,Our room was lovely ,staff great, food was great with a wide choice to suit all tastes, and its positioned at the lovely peaceful end of Salou,,quite Spanish not to tacky,,only 15 mins walk to the main centre,,If your disabled your well catered for, they even have a hydraulic seat to get you in the pool,We will go there again without a doubt,,if you have young children this proberbly isnt the place for you,but if your a couple then we think its perfect. They had entertainment every night and also things going on in the day,A lot of Spanish people stay at this hotel which we loved as we adore the Spanish people,,so go and enjoy,,,
Fantastic Pool
I stayed at this hotel with my husband and 2 year old daughter. We had a very pleasant experience here the food was excellent and the location was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of salou to get a good night sleep. The hotel was very clean and the pool was excellent. Although the size of the room was extremely small I would recommend this hotel as all other aspects exceeded a 3* hotel.
