I read all these reviews before i went Emerald rooms and i was a bit worried as me and my mates do get quite loud and was worried about the owners , but you really have nothing to worry about every night when we come about 7am and we was really loud and messin about as you do on a lads holiday and the security guard ( fernado = legend ) he would just tell you to be quite and go to your room and that would be that.
Malia its self is amazing went for 1 week and i cant wait to go back there , bars , weather everything was just amazing.
Food is ok at the hotel well priced , if you go just down the road there is a bar called Galaxy and they do really nice food.

The hotel is family run, and has a really welcoming atmosphere.
location to the strip is perfect, just across the road and around the corner... but far enough away so are not bothered at night. The beach is about a 10/15min walk because it is at the other end of the strip. shops are also conveniently located to the hotel.
The rooms were perfect... bed, shower, storage, fridge, kettle, safe. They were cleaned every other day.
The security "frenando" was so funny and nice... even woke us up one night to tell us about a couple having "sexy time" on a sun bed. speaking to others out there he is the least strict in the whole of malia
food served at the hotel is reasonably priced, the food tastes grate and there is lots to choose from.

Malia's Amazing :D

Just got back from the emerald studios on the 14th of july with my best friend, we are ages 19 & 20. Stayed here for 2 weeks. I cannot fault the hotel on the apearance or the hospitality it has. Its food and drink are both reasonably priced and good value for money. We ate here alot. We were not happy at the fact our bedding only got changed once while we were staying there and the security guard flooded outside our room every morning while watering the plants. it wasnt very safe one of us fell and hurt out knee. Another thing if you are going in a big group and are going to be noisey i wouldnt recommend this hotel as the management moan at you for being noisey after 11 oclock at night and try get you to go out. They cut off our electricity one night because we had music playing and haven a drink in our balcony with the guys next to us. They said you weren't aloud to sit in each others balconys at nite also. "Jess and Andy" Our reps was amazing they helped as much as they could to sort things out if there was a problem. Some of the staff in the hotel are very nice but on the other hand some are very cheeky and angry. One guy shouted at us because we asked if our room could get cleaned because there was ants on the floor, he told us not to eat in our room but then we were not aloud to eat outside out room, so really we couldnt win. For this hotel been an escapades a think they have a cheek to be moaning at young people about being noisey. The hotel is situated 2minutes from the top of the strip which was ideal because you didnt have to get taxi's. People said malia was very expensive before we went but we didnt find it that expensive we spent 1700 in 2 weeks between 2 and that was us eating out a good few nights also. It was average 5 euros a drink in bars, but the more you got to kno the PR'S the better drink you got. We were very friendly with the guy from Heaven and we got Tripple Vodkas for 5 euros, Dont think you can moan at that really. If you go escapades i reccomend the Package to you because it is great value for money and such a laugh. You meet so many nice people at the events and all the reps are a great laugh to. I would go back to malia but only for 1week. 2Weeks got a bit boring.

Awesome Hotel!

The hotel is extremeley friendly and clean.. bedding got changed a couple of times a week and was cleaned every day! food was nice in hotel, cheap so we ate there most nights! there was a new girl behind the bar who started when we were there called Collette and she was lovely! dishing out free shots all the time!
There is a massive garden round the side for sun bathing as when the hotel is full you struggle to get a place around the pool as the sun doesnt cover the whole hotel!
Security came in the second week, he was fine.. couldnt speak much english, all he said when people were speaking was 'sshh' and everyone fired abuse at him! he came at 2 in the morning until 6.. you could prob get away with bringing people back to the hotel.. we didnt risk it and just went to the beach haha! if you get caught it was a 30 euro fine but a few of the lads who were brought girls back and they just said next time we'll charge ya!
no air con.. fans are available at bar for 35 euro for 2 weeks! and safety deposit box was 25 for 2 weeks.
they play music round the pool the whole day and while i was there it was pretty chilled in the day with banter flying about between everyone in the hotel!
Malia its self is extremeley expensive.. due to some sort of law that has been brought in this year! cheapest drink was 5 euros out! i spent 900 euro in 2 weeks and went shopping a fair few times out of that!
Went on the booze cruise which was class! id defo of done it again!
Personally i wouldnt go back to malia. i did have an awesome time tho and met some class people!
have fun! x

May 2011, :D

Loved it!!! From our first night we realised how cheap the drink deals were on the strip. The clubs were all free entry and there were always themed nights on e.g UV party.
The rooms was very basic and small, but was all that we needed, had a fridge and a safe.
The showers had no shower curtain so make sure you move everythin, but there was ALWAYS hot water.
The bar staff and rep was very friendly and welcoming, although this could not be said about the hotel managers, on our last night we got quite loud and woke them up which didnt go down very well as they threatened to throw our suitcases in the swimming pool, although Fernando the securtiy guard helped us out, stopping them from doing so.
Fernando was mostly friendly, but doesnt like to much noise as he always tells everybody 'its sleepy time'. It costs 30euros to bring somebody back to the hotel although it isnt that hard to sneak them in..
The atmosphere in the hotel was very lively as everyone is up for a laugh and wantin to get to know everyone as it is a small hotel, which was good for us as there was just 2 of us and was wanting to make friends, which we did on our 1st night and are now still in contact with.
Overall a fantastic hotel, with friendly barstaff! Just remember not to wake 'the boss'. If your lookin for a drunken and lively holiday this is the place to stay!
BEST HOLIDAY EVER :D

Have to say before we start we did have a lovely holiday. The weather was fantastic. Only draw back were the owners of the Emerald studios themselves. Our studio was nice size and very clean. The cleaner came every 2nd day. Clean towels and bedding was changed twice in the 7 days we were there. The cleaner and the barman I have to say were very polite and couldn't do enough for us. The owners were a different story. They didn't speak and could hardly be bothered. made you feel as if you were in the way. Supposed to be a poolbar but once the barman finished up for the end of season they just closed the bar. So if you went out for tea and came back around 8pm everything was all closed up. ~Not friendly at all. We kept the room on as our flight wasn't until 10.20pm they charged us 35 euros. Other places were only charging 15. So no we won't be going back to the Emerald studios and it's all down to the owners. So so not helpful!!!!

me and 3 other girls stayed in the emerald rooms in july! one word - amazing ! we stayed on a bed n breakfast basis, the rooms where small and very basic! a very small bathroom, 2 beds and a fridge. and the breakfast was beans on toast EVERY MORNING! we soon got bored of that and went onto the strip where you could get afull english for 2euros. The self catering rooms where much bigger, and had a big bathroom and kitchen! the hotel is wild, if you want a good night sleep, this is not the place. if your young and just wanna party like us, youll love it. You soon get to know everyone around the hotel because its only small. most of the clubs close about half 5ish, then everyone would go back to the hotel and run riot untill about 8-9am, while the security guard sat back and did nothing! i would advise not to break antyhing as they charge your for anything broken! for example me and my friend managed to spil drinks down our bed. thios ended up costing us 180 euros because we 'wrecked the matress', we also broke the fridge and toilet seat (lol), but we managed to get away with it un noticed untill the last day, and we refused to pay because we where leaving anyway! as for malia itself, the place is immence. cheap as chips, 5 drinks 5euros. all the clubs are free entrance and they are wild. everything is malia is cheap. the nightlife is amazing, however we soon got bored during the day, cos hangovers kick in and its boring, so we decided to hire quads even tho advised from the reps not too. however they where on 90euros for the week, which we thought was very cheap and petrol was only a fiver to fill it up. would defoooooo advise anyone going to malia to get a quad, they are very popular and pretty much everyone has them. the beaches are lovely and music is played out on them all day. the water park is also amazing. we found that malia was mostly singles aged bwtween 17 -25. i would not really advise it for anybody over the age that age and would defo not advise this holiday for familys and children ! overall a amazing holiday, and only spent 600euros in 10 days. bargain!

Security? Really???

Jul 2010, lynn loves malia!

my m8 and I booked up for a cheap and cheerful week in Malia. We knew it would noisy but nothing prepared us for Emerald rooms.
We met an absolute brilliant group of guys staying there and if it wasnt for them we would left very disappointed. Security did NOTHING about 2 guys banging our door down trying to get into our room even tho we were 2 young girls on our own and he knew this as the previous night had been so sleazy to us when we were sitting outside our room. he did nothing to stop this guy then proceeding to urinate thru the gap at the bottom of our door. Luckily the group of guys we made friends with came home and got rid of the guys at the door.
The shower was horrific, if u put it on the connection it went EVERYWHERE in the bathroom, soaking the toilet roll (which you get one roll to last you a week, u need to buy more at the supermarket).
The towels were changed once which was a bit manky, thank god we had taken some with us.
The pool and pool bar were nice...we ate there and it was reasonably priced and was nice.
The barman was lovely..but hes the only one i would say was welcoming.
The location of the hotel is superb for the strip, and not that far a walk from the beach, 15 mins or so.
The room was tiny but we actually didnt mind that, the fridge worked! which we were told was unusual.
My friend and I love to party and dont mind a bit of noise but overall the hotel wasnt that great, the security really let us down. We have booked up to go back in 2 weeks and my only request....dont book us into the Emerald rooms. Malia is amazing...emerald rooms are not.

A group of 6 lads decided to go to Malia to see if it was better than our last holiday to Magaluf the year previous. When we arrived at Emerald Studios, we were in stitches at the outside of it! Looks like nothing, and when we went in to get our room, we were still laughing at the place! But the next day we realised it's a really nice place, which is kept clean and are very friendly staff! The food is pretty spot on in the place, but we only really ate snacky things like scrambled egg, sandwiches etc.
It's 2 minutes away from the strip and about a 15 minute walk to the beach, ideally located! I heard all this nonsense about planes flying over, i heard zero and seen zero! The first night was messy as we just went to as many bars as possible up the strip! I highly recommend the Newcastle Bar half way up the strip, the offers are great (5 drinks for 5 euro).
I seriously recommend this place to anyone around the age of 18 to late 20's! Malia did live up to its expectations and we felt as a group, was better than Magaluf! We will definately be back here in the future to see if it is still as good!
Ps if you want to get a scooter or quad like me and a mate did, be very careful when driving it not to wreck it, or ull be paying them a fortune! I dont recommend getting one as they are easily stolen or wrecked!
If your going to Malia soon, do enjoy, I no you will!
Chris

It was the first girl holiday we actually had- and we had an amazing time!
it is quite a lively resort and was expecting noise etc the only problem we had with the accomodation was the cleanliness of the rooms- for a weeks stay it was cleaned twice!! which was disapointing however the staff were very helpful and polite to all visitors. Its only a 5min walk from the main strip and very close to restaurants. . I would advise anyone who is going to Malia who is wanting to be near the main strip for nights out to go to this hotel. It is all you need really for a partiyng holiday- decent shower, bed and kitchen!! WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED on a clubbin holiday with the girls.
