THe hotel was nice but the staff are rude and when you check out you will get ripped off. They keep your passports all week and when you go down to reception to check out they will charge you as much as they can from dirty towels to apperently broken tvs and until you pay the bill they will not give your passports work. Apart from this the holiday was good but be warned they like to get your money any way they can.

My boyfriend and I are just back from a 2 week summer holiday here... We would definitely go back however not to this hotel. Although it's new, modern and staff are great I just felt it was a bit "out-the-way" and the people in the hotel were very, very young. If you are aged between 17 - 22, single and don't mind being splashed and irritated down the pool then go for it. I would recommend the Chiaka Beach Hotel, we saw it and wished we had booked there.
The weather was great for the first 9 days and then we were on the receiving end of a lovely thundery shower... It was really quite fun to watch!
The Bulgarians themselves we found to be very friendly - We did hear about 6 mugging incidents from people in the hotel right enough. (Avoid the wee cycling people, negotiate a rate upfront with taxi's, stay in groups and don't go up dark alleys). As with all foreign countries, you never can be too careful.
The resort was reasonably clean and the beach looked great, other than the jellyfish hence why I say "looked great". The entertainment is all provided by the locals, which I thought was excellent, Karaoke, Indie bands, alternative bands, magic shows... I was so impressed with the talent. If you like Karaoke go to Marbella, just on the beach and you can sing your heart out on a good system with Rossie and George!!!
Value for money, yip! We just went a bit crazy on the overspending as we do every year bit it's surprising how far the £ goes in Leve. Bit of advice... See your rep about a loyalty card for Crown (exchange booth), you get, something or other over the normal rate. Take Bank of England money and not bank of Scotland, for some reason you get a better rate for the English notes. I was a bit put out by that, being a Scot and all! My card was used fraudulently whilst over there so beware not to switch anything in a "dinky" looking place. (They only tested for an ITunes £1 ringtone and my bank noticed it and stopped the account). PHEW!
Overall it was a great holiday, I've had better but the multi-cultural side of Bulgaria was appealing, food was great, hotel would have been OK if I was 3 or 4 years younger (and single), weather was OK for that time of year and the value for money was excellent.
7/10 from me... I'll be writing a review from Chiaka Beach hotel soon enough :-)

Went here for a week with a holiday group -
Good points
Hotel - Clean, restaurant staff are very friendly (Tania and Jen), cheap and the food was excellent - sauna available as well as others - internet access.
Area - Nice beach, loads of activities to do, water and land, local bars are cheap - loads of places to choose from - market has got loads of places to eat - loads off gift shops.
Bad Points
Hotel - Some of the hotel staff are miserable and rude - language barrier issue - they will charge you for anything they can when you check out (ie dirty bed sheets.....) - Knowledge of the local area was’t up to scratch.
Area - Didn’t feel welcome by the locals and members of staff (comparing my visit to turkey) - loads of pick pockets about - hospitals everywhere but will charge silly money for treatment.
Summary
By the end of the holiday, I couldn’t wait to get back to London - something was missing from the holiday - I didn’t like the fact that all the hotel resorts were open for anyone to come in – i.e. the pool would be packed with people who weren’t even staying at our hotel - Sunny Beach was mainly full of German/Dutch/Norweigan - so the music in 90% of the bars was aimed at them so found it hard to go somewhere for music as I enjoy; RNB/Dance/Garage/Hip Hop - Although found somewhere called The Bounce which I spent every night in.
A club which you will here of is Orange nightclub - personally thought it was a crap - to cramped and mostly full of people who couldn’t handle their drink.
SAFETY -
Me and my two mates had no issues what so ever - but heard stories from other people on holiday with people having their phones stolen (lose your knee caps or phone). Some girls we met had been sliced in the arms - cant say how it happen but was enough to make me watch over my back during the evenings after a few.
A bit of a mixture review I know - tried to cover as much as possible. Wont be going back there again. Hope this helps anyone enquiring.

Just arrived home from Sunny Beach Bulgaria, my girlfriend and I travelled via Club 18-30 and we both had a fantastic time for a cheap holiday.
The weather during the first week was scorching (last week of July) and it cooled down slightly for the second week, although very hot there was a constant breeze which seemed to calm in the evenings.
The sea was nice, not to choppy and fairly safe, although the jet skis seemed to get a free run so it’s best to stay in the shallows. You do see the occasional jellyfish but they're nothing to worry about, in general I would say it was just as nice as most of the Mediterranean beaches I’ve been to.
If you looking for a resort that caters mainly for British tourists then Sunny Beach is not the place for you. It was extremely busy during the day and night, made up mainly of Scandinavians and Germans and it was difficult communicating sometimes. I would say probably about 15-20 percent British, I wasn't fazed a great deal, but we spoke to a few people who found it slightly intimidating.
We were there for two weeks, but I think unless your dream holiday is chilling on the beach sunning yourself and then drinking at night then one week is enough. There isn’t a great deal to do; excursions are limited to a trip to one of the towns or maybe Istanbul, or possibly a boat trip. We did go into Nessebar which is only 15 minutes away via boat or taxi and it was lovely, lots of history and character, and a must if you go to sunny beach.
The hotel itself was basic but nice, our room was small but comfortable, and the cleaners came every two days. We did book a double room but were given two single beds which we had to push together, the air-con was effective, but other guests we spoke with had less positive comments.
The pool was murky for the first week but it was cleaned halfway through and the pool area was cleaned well every evening, sun-beds were normally available most times.
The hotel staff were generally pleasant, they spoke little English but made an effort to smile. We did have an incident which involved some of the staff taking pictures of us without permission, this upset my girlfriend, and when I confronted them they laughed.
This particular group of staff let the hotel down along with the security guard who was quite simply, not nice.
The food in sunny beach was the biggest disappointment, we look forward to eating in various restaurants and sampling different cuisine when we go on holiday, but we were reduced to KFC and McDonalds. 90 percent of the food we ate tasted of pure salt and little effort was made.
DESPITE this we did enjoy our time there, we spent £1800 for two weeks including flight, hotel B&B, and spending money. We ate out every night, got extremely drunk and did all there was to offer. As most people say it is very cheap, but you do get what you pay for.

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday at the Kalofer hotel in Sunny Beach. The hotel was clean and tidy, rooms were fairly large and very well furnished.
Facilities were good, games room, hairdressers, sauna, and large outdoor pool with jacuzzi.
The breakfast is great hot and cold buffet and eat as much as you like, restaurant is open until 12 midnight. Only problem is not many of the staff speak English and this caused a few problems.
The resort itself was excellent so much to see and do and best of all it was so cheap. A pint of beer was only 30p, spirits (doubles) again only 30p. We ate out every night at a different restaurant and a three course meal for two with drinks cost under £4.
We travelled on the local buses to vary towns and cities and again this was far the best value. Tour operator was charging £9 each to go to Nessebar, which would have cost us £18 and our return trip by local bus cost the massive sum of £1.
This holiday was great value with lots for both young and old alike. Weather was a very hot , top temp. was 33 degrees.
I would recommend the hotel and resort to any one , so if you go I hope you have a great holiday.
