Excellent Food
from A TripAdvisor Member
We had one of the garden rooms and were very pleased - it was spacious and the bathroom was well appointed. The room was a little dark but, as we didn't stay in it during the daytime, this hardly mattered. The hotel is probably due for a refurb before too much longer as it is getting a little shabby in parts ... however the food was absolutely excellent. The restaurant is attractive, the staff were attentive and the beef and lamb were the tenderest we have ever tasted (and we travel to France and USA frequently). The full English<br...

Lovely, cosy stay
from ahw1182
We stayed at the Best Western Grapevine Hotel over a very rainy bank holiday weekend. The hotel was warm and cosy and beautiful, much like the village and the Cotwolds themselves! The reception area had plush seating with a bar attached (though not obtrusive to the reception area). The reception staff were a bit standoffish, but not unfriendly, and to be fair to them, we did show up a bit early. They did not offer to store our luggage (though, I don't think there was space to), and let us use the private car park even though our room...

Great weekend break
from Tabner
Enjoyed the stay in this authentic hotel. Rooms involved ducking to avoid headaches, but lots of character. Great location and good dinner in the Conservatory Restaurant.
Lovely but a little on the pricey side
from ,./
I'm surprised by the last review since my husband and I really liked the hotel. Admittedly our room was definitely on the small side and being right at the top of the stairs (room 1) we half expected to hear people walking past our room and climbing the stairs throughout the night but fortunately we didn't hear a thing. Breakfast was good and our meal from the brasserie which we ate in the bar was lovely. The service was quite slow but we overheard that they had problems with the oven which is presumably why we were not offered dessert....

Tired and badly run hotel.
from GARYPROCTER
I thought it was about time i wrote a review as i use the site so much myself. The grapevine is at best a 2 star hotel, we stayed 1 night and that was enough. we had booked a double deluxe room which was in the rear extension of the hotel, the room was very dark and had no view at all. The bathroom was tired and in some places dirty, the remote control for the t.v was held together with tape and the menu in the information pack we later discoverd to be well out of date. The double bed turned out to be two single beds pushed together with...

wonderful atmosphere
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stopped here as a last minuite get away, and were very pleased with our choice. The location, service, food and accomodation was fantastic. Excellent value for money, the rooms were very well presented and the food served in the restaurant was exemplory. Highly recommended.
In the heart of Stow, but lacks charm
from Nonyj
The Grapevine Hotel is centrally located in the heart of Stow and is a perfectly adequate place to stay. But it more of a place to rest your head than a place for a romantic break, as it doesn't ooze charm or character. A family was staying in the room above us (5 people) and we could hear them walking around and stamping late into the night/early in the morning, as well as frequently flushing toilets, so our sleep wasn't exactly restful. The laminanted flooring in our bathroom was squeaky and the toilet wasn't solidly fixed into...

Delightful .............................
from bubbaone1
My husband and I stayed at the Grapevine for our wedding anniversary last weekend. The hotel was very nice, clean, very helpful staff and the food in the restaurant was fantastic. We stayed on a DBB rate and found this to ber very good value. The conservatory restaurant was delightful with a huge grapevine growing across the ceiling which at night was lite up. Our room was a standard in the rafters of the hotel and although not huge it was spotlessly clean and had everything you could wish for. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Charming
from Paddy12
I chose this hotel for a birthday treat for my husband and I was hoping for a hotel with a WOW factor. Perhaps I was expecting too much from this charming hotel as it is only 3 star rating. The superior garden room was a good size, well decorated and very quiet. The bathroom however let the side down as it needed a refurbishment. To compensate for this, I would mark them above average with the supply of toiletries, face flannels, tissues etc. The breakfasts were tasty. The evening meal was part of the package and everything was home made...

Beautiful atmospheric place
from minniecat
The room we stayed in was lovely, and carefully thought out, down to the small detail of the tea tray - gilded in gold to match the decor. We were unfortunate in that we were evacuated 3 times due to a fault with the fire alarm, but the staff were great, we had free drinks, and a free night of accommodation. It is located very close to the centre of the village, and the breakfast was served at our table - not huge, but good quality. Lovely little bar, and comfortable loungy sofas by an open fire. This place is romantic, well run,...
