Not too bad...
We found this Travelodge good value for money (at 15 pound you can't really complain). We were treated well by the staff and found the rooms clean and comfortable. There was no air conditioning though, which meant we had to open the window, which meant traffic noise. We ended up having to shut it though as the noise was too loud for us to sleep. Lukily it wasnt too warm yet. Apart from that we had no complaints. It is situated right next to a major road and roundabout. Next time, I must admit, even though the price was awesome... more
Great value for money
We did a 2-day tour of the Cotswolds and stayed here and the Travelodge in Cirencester. We live in Canada and were skeptical, having experienced Travelodge motels in the U.S. What a pleasant surprise. Polite & helpful staff, everything we needed in a clean, up-to-date room, including a "Disabled" room for my mother (a rare find in the U.K.). No frills - i.e. no little bottles of shampoo, body lotion etc. We were lucky and got these rooms for an unbelievably low price of 15 pounds per night! Check out their website for these "Saver" deals.
you get what you pay for
We stayed here back in Dec. We found the staff on reception very unhelpful, when we got to our room we found we only had one towel, no shampoo or shower gel & only a small piece of soap. We went to reception to ask for towels & were asked,' how many did we expect to have ?' our reply 'at least one each !' & we were told they only provide soap, that is why the rooms are so cheap. The lift is operated by inserting your room key card, but it is a bit tempremental & again the staff seemed unwilling to offer help.
Excellent Budget Accomodation
I could not fault this excellent travelodge. If you do not expect more than lodge value then you wont be dissapointed. It was very clean , our double room was fairly small but served it's purpose well. If you are a light sleeper you may be affected by the traffic noise as the double rooms tend to be in the front of the hotel, but to be fair to the hotel there is a warning to this effect on their web-site. We paid £15.00 for our first night and £39.00 for the second , average cost of £27.00 per night. Be warned if you have two... more
Excellent Value
The hotel is easy to find being just a 6-7 hundred yards from the M5. We (2 adults, 1 child) took advantage of the Supersaver Rooms and booked via the Travelodge website. We had a family room for only £15.00 a night (eqiv. of £5 each per night!). There is a drink and a snack machine in reception where the staff were efficent and keen to help. Access from reception is via a staircase or lift, your room key is needed to operate the lift or access the stairwell (a point worth remembering if one of you takes the lift and... more
Good Travelodge,But could no a bit better.
I stayed at this Travelodge for 3 day in January 07, this is a good hotel with mostly positive experience. There are only 3 negatives 1) in all the hotels I have ever stayed in this has to be the most miserable receptionist I have ever met she was in one hell of a bad mood no smiles no conversation tried conversation no response just sighs of boredom. 2) I had to wait 13min to check in because the computer was running slow. Hence trying to make conversation with receptionist. 3) I had put a Still sleeping card on the outside of our... more
Room needs some attention.
Stayed in this hotel for one night. The Staff were not busy when we checked in but appeared a little disinterested to have customers. Room a little disappointing as the carpet was dirty in a few places, with congealed gooey bits hidden by a waste bin. Could try harder.
Won't go back
I arrived at 21:10. The Brewers fayre had stopped serving food and the only place I could eat was the KFC. The room was cold, but switching the heater on warmed it up after an hour. The TV remote would not work. Not able to make phone calls on the room (credit card swipe only). The toilet seat was at a forward angle and leaked slightly. Breakfast at the Brewers Fayre was £7.50. There was dried food on the fork and spoon, and fingerprints on the knife blade. I did not risk another meal there. Stayed 3 nights. Every... more
Lovely Hotel
The Travelodge brand is, on the whole, fairly unreliable in terms of quality. HOWEVER ... Travelodge Cheltenham is definitely one of their better hotels. It is a fairly new hotel, built alongside a KFC and a Brewers Fayre - which is very convenient. The building is modern and the decor in the rooms is clean and inviting. Tea and coffee making facilites and a TV with standard channels are included in the price. The en-suite bathroom has bath with decent shower above plus WC and basin. Beds are good and linen clean. Towels are... more
Not great, but you get what you pay for!
We arrived here to check in to be greeted by a large line. One of the assistants behind the desk seemed a little slow to process people through. The rooms were small even by Travelodge standard, the bathrooms were also dirty and the shower curtain was brown and stained at the bottom. Having said that the room was pretty quiet and they provided tea and coffee in the room but at £55 a night it wasn't value for money.
