Seti Abu Simbel Lake Resort

The views across Lake Nasser and the Sahara are still with me today, Unforgettable. Although pricey there is something unique about swimming in a gorgeous pool looking out across the desert sands. I concur with the other reviews above, 2 nights Abu Simble is definitely not part of the program, but is a great way to see the temples between tour groups. Nothing exciting to look at on the approach to the hotel, or in the reception/lounge area. Once inside the grounds hotel looks lovely. Acommodation in small blocks 2 storeys high. Setting is very good over looking Lake Naseer. Nice well kept gardens throughout. Two swimming pools. Walking through the grounds the hotel looks wonderful. The Seti Abu Simble is a beautiful hotel. Stayed March 6, 2005 and was the Best accomodation in Abu Simbel though sparsely booked. Hotel people said it was because of it being a Sunday night. The rools are large, well decorated with a domed ceiling. Had a gorgeous view of Lake Nasser. Just a 15 minute walk from the hotel to the temple. Its rated four stars but the rooms were larger than the five star hotels we stayed at in Cairo and Luxor.

We stayed 2 nights at the Seti hotel in April 2004 and had the entire place to ourselves during the day. Tourists arrived late for the evening light show at Rameses temple stayed over at the hotel then left early morning or else people just flew in early morning for a few hours sightseeing but do stay over if you can as its well worth it. Beautiful hotel in Abu Simbel, very near to the temples, 10 minutes walking, inside the area, gardens all around, beautiful views to the nasser and the gardens.Very quiet, We were just six people at the hotel in july, just because most of the people don´t stay the night in abu simbel, just see the temples and go away but see the temples by night and the music and light show is great!!!The rooms are bungalows, a very good size,big, the bathroom too, with bathtub and a big mirror, the rooms also have fridge, tv channels and terrace with... more
