On the whole the hotel was a good choice for location and a really excellent breakfast choice, although if you wanted vegan or vegetarian you didn't always get it on the first try!! The hotel is marked as a 4* but we thought it was shabby with the wallpaper in the rooms peeling and lumpy beds. The rooms were clean but a little dusty and the shower worked. Not impressed from PH22
For 105 quid a night in January I expect something a lot better than this. Yes, the hotel is in a very good location. Yes, our room had a splendid bay window looking out onto the square and the sea. But really, the bathroom was a joke - incredibly cramped and shabby. The bath itself had at least five bad "chips" in its surface, making it look very uninviting. Stayed at the Ambassador for a hen weekend at the end of July. Plus points first: It is in a fantastic position for the beach and pier and it's easy to walk into the centre of Brighton. The staff are very friendly and helpful and Rob the night porter was a star. Minus points: My only complaint about the hotel is that it needs a bloody good facelift.
