Great hotel!!!
Great Independent hotel minutes away from the sea front. What it lacks in views it more then makes up in Quality furnishings.... great breakfast and helpful staff. Best in Brighton by far!!
Memory Lane Trip
Stayed at the Amherst for two nights - my husband had studied at Brighton in the 70's - the hotel was lovely and the staff very pleasant and helpful - we stayed in room 3 having been upgraded due to a delay in accessing our room of which the staff were most apologetic - the breakfasts were full and hearty and served in our room which was an extra treat - location is ideal for all the local attractions and a sea view too - lovely accommodation and a very nice pint was had the Barley Mow to help the memory cells !!! -
A good spot
My girlfriend and I spent two nights in the Amherst (seems just about every decent place in Brighton has a minimum stay of 2 nights over a weekend) and have to say that we were very impressed with the hotel. We stayed in the Junior Suite - which was very clean, very comfortable, TV, DVD, great sleigh bed, comfy chairs, table and all you'd expect. Perfect
My Girlfriend and I stayed at the Amherst for just one night back in July of this year. She was shortly heading away traveling for a couple of months and I really wanted to find somewhere for us to take a final memorable night away from it all where we could spend some time and I could spoil her - and the Amherst provided the perfect place. The room (a junior suite - no. 3 I think) was beautiful. It was large, clean, light and inviting and contained everything you could hope for. The bed was fantastic and incredibly comfortable; we... more
Boutique Perfection
Had a fantastic stay at the Amherst. We were on the top floor, bit of a trek up the stairs, but worth every step. The room was beautiful, very large, and so clean! couldn't wait to jump in the huge bed!! All front facing rooms have a sea view, room 9 (our room) didn't have a bath, which was a shame, but really didn't detract from a fantastic stay. Staff couldn't do enough for us, and were really sincere. Lots of lovely touches in the room. The breakfast in bed is nearly worth the room rate itself! We have already booked to go back!!
