If you are looking for accommodation in Vancouver then The Renaissance Harbourside Hotel is a must. The rooms have two queen beds with plenty of space to move around. The extra large window from ceiling to floor, looks out onto the waterfront where you can watch the sea planes taking off and landing. The views is spectacular.
Just a short walk round the corner and you are in Robson Street the main hub of the city. Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants where you can sit and watch the world go by. There is a big red bus that will take you to all the main attractions for £17 for two days just hop on and off at will. Many places to visit all within a short walk away.
Food is cheap, but the drinks are expensive if you want English beer. Their is a brewery in Granville Island where you can sample the drinks and have a few nibbles. Gas Town again a short walk away were they have a clock that chimes on the hour using its own steam its wonderful to watch. On our return from Alaska we stayed in the Georgian Court Hotel which is behind the Renaissance but just as good. Everyone was so helpful in advising us where to go and what to do. All the people were friendly and would love to go back as their is so much to see. Stanley Park is a town on its own you need to spend a couple of days there to get around to see everything. A free bus operates in the park to take you to all the places such as Aquarium,Totam Poles, Cafes, Playground, golfing, swimming, just to name a few. I have put this holiday in my top ten.
Everything was just 1st class.
