Stayed there before and booked TWO double rooms for my friend and I so that we could see Oasis at the BIC. paid a CASH deposit at lest eight weeks before the planned stay. Had to cancel and advised the "hotel" at least 48 hours BEFORE the planned stay. Was advised that they... more

Second stay as great as the first!
This was our second stay at Bourne Hall in successive years. We booked again based on such an excellent stay last year. Hotel Condition: Generally very good. Mobility: There is a ramp at the front of the hotel still, saving the need for climbing 3-4 steps. Occasionally a car would park in front of it making the approach or exit in need of a little negotiation! However, it is the 15 or so steps from the entrance to the reception desk that really needs a ramp. It just meant that we needed to lift a push... more
Great hospitality!
13 of us stayed here for a weekend and we couldn't fault it. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable and a great breakfast buffet. Would definitely recommend it!
Awful!!!!
We arrived in Bournemouth and being very silly didnt book in advance. We called in to Bourne Hotel who said they had one room left, at £130 it was to much for us and we continued to drive and walk around for hours and eventually had to stay there by this time it was 10pm we were soaking wet, tired and hungry. We were now told it would be £150 pound just for the one night, we were leaving 9am in the morning and if we wasnt in the room im sure it would have been empty. The room was the worst ive ever stayed in, very dirty-the floors... more
Management response from martinBournemouth

Dear Jack We read with interest your review on Trip Advisor, and were somewhat suprised when we realised that you state your stay with us was in fact August 2006, and the review was written on February 7th, 2007. You were obviously unhappy with the standard of the Bourne Hall, and we would have been only too happy to deal with your complaints prior to departure. At not time has our tariff reached the dizzy heights of £130 escalating to £150 per night as we run only a Two Star Hotel, our maximum tariff at the very height of the season would be £90 for dinner bed and breakfast. We could so easily have addressed your problems prior to departure had we known, as there is always a senior person on duty who could attend to your complaints. It is a little late, six months later, to defend the complaint, but I can assure that should you choose to return you would find none of our rooms fit the description given on your review. Sincerely Ann Smith (Proprietor)

Excellent hotel!
Fantastic hotel! Very friendly staff and room was nice and clean. Shower was a bit small but then you don't need to spend all day in there! Bathroom in general seemed recently renewed and very very clean! It is a bit of a walk from the city centre back to the hotel as it is all up hill, but there is a busstop near and also the people at reception are very helpful calling a taxi for you or even booking a daytour for you. Normally I am not a fan of English breakfast because it is so full of fat but even for a Dutch person it was lovely, very... more
Distinctly Average
Basically was a pretty average hotel. Quite an old fashioned hotel, needs a refurb. Staff were helpful enough, nothing special. Pricey for what you get. I have no problems paying when it is worth it but it wasn't in this case. Overall the hotel was very noisy, sound travels! Between banging doors, ancient floorboards and babies crying! I’m young and this didn't really bother my boyfriend and i, but it definitely wouldn't go down as the most relaxing hotel. Also the breakfast is only between 8.30-9.30am and the breakfast staff... more
A great family hotel
We have stayed at Bourne Hall several times and have booked again for 2005. We have enjoyed holidays with our family (10 of us) each summer. We are always made welcome by the staff and the grandchildren look forward to their Bournemouth holiday. We enjoy the varied dinner menu and the choice at the buffet-style breakfast is extensive. Its location makes it very convenient for both the shopping area and, more importantly for the grandchildren, the beach is but a few minutes away. We would recommend Bourne Hall to anyone who is looking... more
Value for Money
My wife and I stayed at the Bourne Hall beginning of September 2004, we found the hotel more than acceptable for its two star rating. The hotel was clean, staff and management very helpfull and friendly and the breakfast buffet providing a wide range of choice. The only slight downside was that the evening dinner had a latest serving deadline of 7.30pm. (we would have prefered to eat a little later on most occasions)....Oh and as in common with most hotels with the same type of bathroom shower fittings,...watch out for the... more

Great Hotel
Having stayed at this hotel twice now. I can say that it is a great family hotel. we have always been well looked after. And all the staff are friendly. The meals are nice and there are a good choice and variety of meals. I totally recomend this hotel for anyone. No doubt if i ever return to bournemouth for a holiday, i shall return to this hotel.
Very comfortable Hotel
This Hotel was basic but very comfortable. The food was well prepared and varied. The staff were very friendly. The evening entertainment was not as good as it could have been, but the acts offered were adequate.
