Hotel was in a great location -...

Nov 2007, Miss G T Foy

Hotel was in a great location - across the road from a fabulous beach, next door to big department store (Debenhams), close to bars and restaurants, bus stops going both directions outside hotel, easy taxi access, close to a number of supermarkets and convenience stores.
Hotel was basic but nice. We stayed for just over a month (June-July 07) on a B&B basis, however we only ate breakfast at the hotel twice due to food being extremely basic, we usually ate at Chris' restaurant next door or got a bakery breakfast from Debenhams.
The pool area was really nice, was on the roof top with free sun loungers lined up around the pool area. Also on the roof top there is a bar which is really handy. Reception staff wasn't very helpful accept for one woman.
Rooms were nice with a balcony facing local apartments, however that road was particularly noisy at night. Rooms had TV but only had one English Channel - the news - rest were mainly German or French like the majority of hotel guests. Rooms were cleaned well at the beginning of our stay but then started to lack - we noticed stains on the sheets still remained after a week and the bathroom floor never got mopped once during our stay.
I would stay again at the hotel due to good location and rates, however I wouldn't book on a B&B basis again.

My first time abroad and I was chuffed by the end of my 2 week stay. The staff were lovely, especially the bar manager Yannis & Andreos the bar man (cutie). Food was good, although could have done different salad by night!
Hotel rooms were good considering it wasn’t a massive hotel although the bathrooms could have been a bit bigger. Shame that the hotel has closed down because it would have been lovely to go back their again. But I do plan to go back to Limassol either next year or the year after. I recommend Limassol as a place to go on holiday if you are planning to go to Cyprus. Old town is cheaper!! So stay in a hotel near old town!

TERRIBLE! I wish I had known before going here. The hotel is facing a beach, but the beach is horrible. It is located in the middle of nowhere - you have to get about by taxi to either the old town or the tourist area.
The first room we were put into was disgusting, it was tiny, dirty and had a really bad view. We were just stuck at the back of the hotel. We complained and I must admit the staff were very good and moved us to a bigger room with a better view. The air conditioning only works for a few hours of the day and just to warn you every room only has one plug socket!! There were cockroaches everywhere and the food was bad. Don't go half board or all inclusive so you don't have to eat there. There is a cafe next door but apart from that it is a taxi ride to a restaurant. I can recommend a place we ate every day in the old town call Caberellos - food is delicious and the waiters lovely and friendly.
The only one good thing about Hotel Pavemar is Yannis the bar man, he is such a lovely man and basically agreed with us on how terrible the hotel was. Whilst we were staying there the hotel's whole power system went down and we were left without electricity for two days!! They did not have a back up system. They managed to borrow an hour's electricity from the cafe next door via an extension lead.
Two words - DON'T GO.

Had a fantastic time. Just the place I was looking for. Good central base for all our daily trips. Nice to come back to a relaxed friendly atmosphere. Closing down at end of this year (or so they think). Nothing fancy just good friendly staff.

Had a great week staying at the Pavemar hotel which is a fairly small and friendly hotel, fantastic location between the old town and the tourist area with the bus stop just outside the door.
All staff were very friendly and helpful with the manager being quite a character and mixing with all the guests.
The room was adequate with most mod cons included, although a fridge and kettle would have been good, there was however a problem with the air conditioning in our room.
The food which a lot of reviews seem to have criticized was plentiful and good with a mixture of Cypriot and British food to be had, Greek dancing to the manager singing was provided during dinner one evening and was very entertaining!
The terrace area along with the pool and sunbathing area situated on the roof of the hotel and overlooking the sea was great, very handy and popular with the guests. The hotel throughout was very clean and tidy with the rooms cleaned daily. The bar was well stocked and reasonably priced.
We will definitely return to the Pavemar on our next visit to Cyprus which we are already planning.

Oct 2006, Mr R Lodge

We stayed at the Pavemar hotel in Limassol for a week on a half board basis from the 14th October 2006.
At first arrival we were met by the reception who was very friendly and helpful.
We found the room to be very comfortable and spotless clean, room serviced every day and vacuumed.
The cleaners were very friendly and thorough! The rest of the staff were very nice and tried there best to ensure you were made to feel very welcome and relaxed (well done Pavemar).
The food was very good, wholesome and you never went hungry! We enjoyed every minute there and would, without a doubt return there again! 8 out of 10.

It was a little different from our usual holiday, have done Florida and the Caribbean. Enjoyed trips out to mountains and Nicosia.
May a good month for us, not liking it too hot. Girl who cleaned room friendly, as were most staff. Being vegetarian, the chef went out of his way to ensure I had some meat free option, cooking an omlette or something. He always came round to see how we had found the meal.
If we came to Limassol again would use Pavemar hotel, although room we had was noisy from traffic, would request rear view room! One improvement could be facility for coffee and tea making in room!

It was my first time to Cyprus and the Pavemar Hotel and I was a little apprehensive since I have never stayed in a 3 star hotel before.
I usually stay in 4 & 5 Star hotels but I was really surprised when I arrived. The Pavemar is perfectly located, it has internet connection the staff were very helpful and the atmosphere of the hotel was very pleasant.
Next time I visit Cyprus, I will stay at the Pavemar.

We recently came back from a fantastic holiday in Limassol Cyprus and stayed at the "New" Pavemar hotel which has been renovated.
The hotel is very clean, spotless, the staff were fantastic as was the location of the hotel.
We would recommend the hotel to any one who wants a friendly atmosphere in a clean and comfortable environment.
THANK YOU PAVEMAR.

Aug 2005, Mrs M Hopper

My husband and I arrived at the Pavemar early hours on the 4th august.
We were given the key to our room 217 we went straight up and opened the door we could not believe the smell. We put the light on and looked under the mattress it was covered in urine stains. The balcony was full of mud. We complained and got another room I still cannot believe they thought we would sleep in that filthy smelly pit.
The next day we came down to the lobby for a drink the receptionist said go on the roof the bar down here does not open. In the brochure it does. There was no entertainment except now and then the manager would sing.
We got stuck in the lift as it kept braking down. So we had to climb 4 flights of stairs up and down every day.
The food was not very good at all it was always the same but switched round. We went half board and ended up eating out most of the time. So our money went down a lot quicker. This went on for 2 weeks we could not wait to come home.
It was without the worst holiday we have ever had. This hotel should not be a three star I think even a two star is generous. People have a right to know about this hotel. It is scruffy and not welcoming in anyway. Just do not believe everything you see in the brochure. Or any of it as in this case.

What a super friendly hotel. The manager Yiannis was such good fun he always found time to have a chat and a little joke with all the guests. His son works there also and is a chip off the old block as we say.
Good location with Woolworth’s next door, but its not like our UK shop much more up market.
I was there mid November and the weather was wonderful.
I found an excellent company doing short tours the bus stopped right outside the hotel. I lovely friendly driver who made us all so welcome and gave us many fun days out Chris from the Spring Chicken Club they have a web site Springchickenclub.com
I hope to be going back next year to the same hotel.

We have just returned from Cyprus!!!...

May 2004, Mrs M Johnson

We have just returned from Cyprus!!!
We stayed at the Pavemar last year in July and was very happy with the accommodation that we decided to stay there again this year.
On arriving at the hotel we were pleasantly surprised to find a WELCOME BACK comp slip together with a bottle of sparkling wine and a basket of fruit. They obviously kept a log of all their guests and knew we had stayed before.
I had faxed the hotel a few days before requesting a Sea view room and was really happy to open the curtains and see we had got a sea view.
We have travelled a lot over the years but I must say this hotel is tops for cleanliness!!! The maids are all so sweet and friendly. All the staff especially Yiannis the Restaurant Manager.
Many of the staff were the same as last year and we obviously left our mark as they recognised us.

Our only criticism is they need to get a better entertainment. Hope to go again next year. That will be our 3rd year in a row to Limassol.
