Brooklands Hotel

Brooklands is a great bed and breakfast hotel in a very convient location about 2mins from the sea and shops and very near to the bic handy for shows,. We were on holiday with my elderly parents who are not in the best of health and as soon as we checked in we were offered tea and biscuits, then shown to our rooms which were near each other on the ground floor. The rooms were clean and comfortable and had the little extras like towels, shampoo,soap etc, the food was nice and there was a wide choice the staff were very friendly and helpfull. I would definatly go back again.

Lovely place to stay. Warm friendly welcome. Just a couple of minutes walk to the beach. When you get to your room you will find clean fresh towels, soap, shower gel everything you would need. Large lounge with hot drinks machine and TV. Dinning room large with a good chose of breakfast. Will recommend the Brooklands Hotel to my friends if they plan a holiday in Bournemouth. And I will stay there again next time for a long weekend.

Location and the access to the mariott leisure club are the only advantages of the hotel. Rooms very small and dated with noisy corridors. Very disturbing noise coming from the pipes as well!

...and the reception....hmmm....we have been instructed to don't call them for extra sugar cause they won't be happy!

The family and I had a great weekend at this hotel and would definitely go back again. The hotel staff were amazing.

This hotel has a great location for the beach and bournemouth town. It is also near the BIC which holds gigs, events and the like.

The rooms are quite small, but acceptable and clean. However, the little things were missed, such as soap. The breakfast room is nice, and the staff are friendly.

However you may be lucky and find they dont make a mistake with the bill or overbookings. We discovered that they had overcharged us because they could not work out how much we had paid. And even when we proved it by showing them our bank statements to one of the owners, they said "there is nothing I can do" They also told us that they were stressed because they had over booked rooms, and had no time to sort out our refund until 2 to 3 weeks later.

We also found on our last night that a couple younger than us thought it was acceptable to use the place as a knocking shop. The owner (after about 3 hours!!) went to their room and listened outside the door to the moans, BUT DID NOT STOP IT!! They then took a break and went on for another hour.

Some rooms are next to a busy road, so if the other guests dont keep you awake through the thin walls, the cars will instead.

We were first attracted to the Brooklands Hotel because of its location (an easy drive from Poole harbour) and apparently good value for money.

We were not disappointed as it was very easy to find - and I was delighted that we were a minute's walk from a view of the British seaside.

It was most convenient to be able to park directly in front of the property, off the main road.

Our welcome was friendly, courteous and informative. Our room and ensuite were clean and homely with a large bay window and handy storage.

We were recommended a walk through the beautiful Victorian gardens to town, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The hotel is surprisingly well situated being only five minutes' walk from the beach, town centre, gardens and Birmingham International Centre.

After our stroll we were invited into the hotel's cosy bar, where we spent an hour or two chatting and having our five year old well and truly spoiled!

Although we had not planned on staying for breakfast, we were lured into it by the description of free-range eggs and the local butchery's leek sausages. We had everything we could have wanted of an English breakfast - all served with smiles first thing in the morning. We decided to take another walk around the area and sample the seafront before we headed North just because it was so inviting. If we had not been attending a wedding we should have liked to have stayed longer (room allowing - they seemed pretty full and understandably so). My family and I were treated like family, slept and fed well and I hope to return soon for a longer stay with my sister and her children. What a super start to our holiday and a shining example of Bournemouth Hospitality!

I have no hesitation in recommending this home from home.

Booked the room for 3 people for 2 nights. Great budget hotel with ideal facilities. Small bar and lounge ideal for our needs. Room was basic but had everything we needed and shower was fantastic. Breakfast was served using some local produce and was very tasty. Hotel manageress worked incredibly hard to make our stay pleasant. Good location and great staff.

Had a wonderful stay, staff very nice and friendly.

Lovely freshly cooked breakfast, room had all you need coffee and tea making facilities, digital channel TV. Wireless internet access, room was a perfect size.

I also had free vip use of the Marriott hotel leisure facilities, such as the swimming pool, sauna. Would stay again and recommended this hotel. It is in the best location, as it was only a few minutes walk to the beach and to the town centre.
