Neptune still great
I was at The Rimonim Neptune 33 years ago when it was the Neptune Hotel. At that time it was one of the few hotels overlooking the Gulf of Eilat, with the mountains on one side and the twinking lights of Aqaba, Jordan, on the other side. There were a couple of beachside restaurants down a board walk and not much else. Today the Rimonim Neptune is a wonderfully expanded hotel, with comfortable cool rooms, very modern, all kinds of amenities. Our room was spacious with a lovely balcony ( I think all the rooms have balconies)... more
paradise in eilat
We, a couple in our thirties stayed in the hotel from Thursday till Saturday. We loved every minute of it. On our arrival we received a drink on the house. We got our key immediately to our room. We had the VIP program, so we received champagne and bottles of water and a big plate with beautiful and tasty fruit. The food was just great, we had a wonderfull bbq at the pool, with the tastiest food and the deserts were paradise on earth. The room was nice with a lot of light and the view was amazing... Renovated and modern--yes; 4 to 5 star hotel--I don't think so
The hotel was adequate for our needs while spending 3 nights in Eilat. It's best summarized by pros and cons: Pros: -Recent renovation throughout hotel in pleasing, modern, light colored tones. Rooms were comfortable although relatively nondescript and had a partial ocean view. -Clean -Beautiful pool, with inviting atmosphere -Central location -Reasonable price of $146/night including half board. Cons: -Entirely unsuitable beach strewn with GLASS SHARDS, cigarette butts, rocks and bottlecaps. Complete... more
Great hotel, recently renovated
This hotel was recently renovated and it shows. The decor is very pleasing in cool ocean colors. Very modern, clean and nice, with balconies facing the Red Sea. It can be a bit noisy at night, as the hotel is located just above the promenade. The breakfast buffet offered many great options, was quite impressed by selection and quality of food. Hotel staff was also very friendly. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Nice hotel
Super nice hotel right on the Red Sea
Unforgetable stay
First time in Eilat and this Hotel, which is one of the oldest in the city, has a brand new interior. Very modern interior, without remembering comfort. The food is very good and does not repeat itself. Enjoyed a very good massage. Hotel has quiet atmosphere, which was just right for our desire for relaxation.
Great place!
We stayed at the Rimonim in December 2006, after its complete renovation. There were some negative reviews of the hotel on this site from pre-renovation days but we decided to take a chance that things had changed. We're glad we did. Everything in the hotel is brand new, from the rooms to the lobby to the modernized gym and spa. The rooms have flat screen TVs and a balcony with an ocean view. You can’t beat the location, as the hotel is right in the center of everything you would want to walk to – shopping, nightlife, etc. and is on... more
Please stay away
So I did not take other people advice and went for the price, what a mistake!!! The only upside its right on the beach, but beach chairs are old and dirty and best part if you did not use a towel the green color will run onto your clothes if wet The hotel itself is dirty and really old, needs major work, and the managment does nothing to make it clean. I saw the vacuum cleaner that cleaning person had its about 50 years old. The food on all inclusive plan is just ok, the service in dining room in non existant.<br... more
Quite Good but Hotel Maintenance Not Being Done Properly
I stayed at this hotel for 9 nights during December 2004. Like most hotels it has its good points and its bad points: Good Points: 1)Good Location. Because the hotel was one of the first luxury hotels in Eilat, it has one of the best locations. It is near the beach so all rooms have a sea view and near the shopping and commercial centre with its duty-free shops. 2)Good Food. I had breakfast every day and occasionally bought dinner and enjoyed them both. 3)Helpful Staff. Most staff spoke English and were helpful... more
Stay away
The rooms were not only outdated, smelly and dirty. They were down right disgusting. The carpet was coming apart at the walls. The fixtures in the bathroom were rusted. The shower was so disgusting that we had to shower in slippers. The towels and the sheets had holes in them. The bathroom floor had previous tenats hair the whole four days that we were there. WE complained numerous times, but nothing was done to our satisfaction (clean room, untorn sheets) There was garbage can in front of our room, that was overflowing, yet never... more
