We really enjoyed our stay at the Arena. The room was spacious and clean, with a marble bathroom and separate lounge area, although I think there were smaller ones. You also get your own little space at the front, with a table and chairs. The shower was powerful and always nice and hot.
The food was pretty good, with plenty of choice. We were there on a B&B basis, but we did eat in their restaurant one night, for a very reasonable supplement. They tend to play the same CD again and again at the bar, and the music is quite audible. If you like Queen, The Police, Phil Collins and Enya you're fine! The surrounding area is nice and quiet however. The lunchtime snacks are also very nice and the staff friendly. You have to pay to use your safety deposit box, which is a bit cheeky - I think it was about 1.80 euros a day, with a 12 euro deposit, which you get back. There is also a coin operated Internet connection in the foyer.
The pool and surrounding area are modern and attractive, although the Jacuzzi was freezing and the pools could have done with being a bit warmer.
And by the way, don't believe anyone who tells you that there aren't any mosquitoes in the Canaries. I got bitten in the room, and wished I'd brought one of those plug in insect killer devices.

We had a week holiday here this year `05 with 2 children, although there was no entertainment for the children it wasn’t missed, they played in the pool most days and for us was a highly relaxing holiday perfect if you want to re-charge your batteries! we had great days at the beaches (glass beach a must) taxi v cheap 2-3 euro.
We all enjoyed staying at the Arena hotel and will go again, the staff are v friendly and helpful, the food was v good and as much as you can eat and the hotel itself was exceptionally clean, could have done with another week! next time!

My boyfriend and I (39 & 41) stayed here in Oct 2004 & again June 2005. Hotel is not too big with two separate pools (one for children) and lots of sunbeds & parasols. Staff are very friendly & reception is 24 hours. If you like a lot of entertainment on site & around the pool this is not the hotel for you.
However if you want to use the hotel as a base it is well recommended. True there is a 20 minute walk to the centre & the beach but taxis are only a couple of euros. Flag beach is lovely & extremely clean. The bedrooms are large with a big marble bathroom - also a large furnished balcony. The food isn’t brilliant but it is adequate & plentiful. No complaints about breakfast but dinner could be better.
However at these prices we enjoyed eating out some evenings. P.S. We saved quite a lot booking flights & hotel independently compared to brochure prices.

Small but clean complex. Rooms, bathroom and balcony were very nice and clean, well furnished. The food was poor, we were only there for 7 days and ate out twice, the last night was so bad, my dinner was tomatoes, cucumber, and some ice cream- that was in my opinion the only edible food. Don’t think we were charged the same for drinks twice in a row. Some of the staff were not too pleasant, when I asked for mayo at the snack bar for my salad, I was refused and yet the snack bar is right next to the main restaurant, where mayo was freely available.
One pool was out of order and Airtours said that we would be offered a 60 euros off of a trip as compensation, when I went to book it later in the day, I was told that it didn’t apply to me as I had only booked it 5 weeks previous, doesn’t matter when I booked it, the pool was still out of order.
When the maid changed the sheets, she took my white cotton nightdress in error, I reported it, but didn’t get it back, a chap in the next block had a pair of trainers taken from his room - we were both constantly dismissed in the reception.
Its nice to walk on holiday but not hike, it was a good 25 minutes to the beach and the same to the town. After all this, what may seem like moaning I must say the sand dunes are a beautiful sight and stretch for miles, but not the best place to spend the day as there are no toilets and very few facilities.

A lovely quiet hotel with good facilities and good food very quiet suitable for singles and couples. We are returning again for 2 weeks highly recommend it is not too far from the shops or beach and the lovely sand dunes the hire of a car is recommended as it is a great place to travel round the island.

Hotel Arena - Corralejo. Apologies, I know this is an old review but I thought I’d make my contribution, my holiday to Hotel Arena was a 2 summers ago.
I'm sure the other reviews will be more helpful but in a nutshell, if you want a quiet, relaxing, warm, chilled holiday then Hotel Arena in Corralejo is fine, with a car or coach trip you could explore the south of the island, but the rest is just wandering around the shops, touristy and a bit boring, but an absolutely huge gorgeous beach nearby (watch out for the windy weather - there are rocky wind blocks built all over the beaches which are nice and private if it's just the 2 of you).
We paid about £450 each for half board, 7days, and it probably wasn't quite worth that much but it was still a reasonable holiday. The hotel was clean and spacious, large wardrobes and nice bathroom, although somehow we managed to get the room right next to the entertainment bar - when I go on holiday the last place I ever want to be is stuck indoors drinking! - However, the music never went on til late, perhaps 1am on a Saturday night at worst.
There is an island just off of Corralejo in the direction of Lanzarote, Lobos, which you can take boat trips out to, and walk up the old dormant volcano, it's not very high or far but it's about as hilly as you get up the top (in my opinion if you like your climbing, walking, hiking or views/scenery this isn't really for you)
I personally wouldn't go back, rather boring place, but it wasn't a bad holiday, and great if you just want quiet and to spend time together, as i did with my dear friend (we were 22 and 21).
