Clean & spacious room, friendly staff, well maintained pool area AAAAA+++++ - if you want a peaceful quiet place to chill out for a week or so this is for you but if you are a party animal book elsewhere. A bit if a hike into the main town but if you like walking then you will have no problem, The town and other parts of the Island do suffer from awful grafitti and give Poerto Del Rosario a miss, dont bother wasting bus fare - it is like a ghetto, simply awful - you will feel very unsafe in that area. The Hotel breakfast was lovely but choose to have the chef cook it for you if you want your food to be hot - cooked breakfasts in the self service were always cold, it could have something to do with the fact that the ceiling fans are left on all the time. General building safety on the Island is dodgy so be careful when walking about, pavements missing and uneven, bollards left anywhere and everywhere but this town is currently under development which should be completed this century! - The Harbour area is beautiful and eating out isnt expensive, food is cooked fresh every day. Do book into the Arena Hotel but dont expect any help with your cases and no lifts but the rooms are centered around a clean and well kept pool area - no heating in the pools tho! brrrrrr. We would go again so that speaks for itself.

My partner and myself have just returned from our holiday at the Arena Hotel it is rated 4 star but we would rate it no more than 2 star. The hotel is clean and bar staff nice but the food is poor and cold. The female resturant head waitress is rude this seems to be the main topic of conversation when talking to other guests staying there. We have stayed 4 star lots of times before but never experienced such terrible choice and cold food look for the microwave on the counter this gives you a confidence boost. We certainly wont be returning to this hotel.

Our holiday at the Arena Hotel was very enjoyable, our room which was right by the swimming pool was extremley spacious. The breakfast was good, there was always something to eat, the dinners were fine although sometimes there was not a great selection. The entertainment was ok, it would be better if more people participated. Staff are very friendly and are always willing to help. We was originally booked into the Aloe club but changed, I would recommend the Aloe club to all familys as very driven towards that. The food there is fab! Not sure about the rooms , I know this as you can use both facilities if all inclusive. The Arena is more for couples looking for a relaxing Holiday. Overall I would recomend both.

Feb 2008, Mr J Thompson

The hotel was advertised as 4 star however a more accurate rating would have been 2 star. We were on the second floor and on arrival had to haul our cases up a flight of stairs to the room, there being no lift and no one to help.
The room was spacious and very clean but the door lock was in need of repair.
The buffet meals were good and the restaurant was well laid out although on two occasions the bread at breakfast was mouldy.
The pool area would be very busy in summer as a younger crowd would make more use the pool area and a considerable number of the poolside loungers were broken.
At no time did we meet or hear from a representitive of the tour company.
All in all we were disappointed.

We have just arrived back from a weeks holiday at the Arena hotel. I must agree with the last people to leave a review in that this is certainly not a 4 star hotel. The only good thing was the the room and even this was just about the size of the room. Not so good things about the room include no double bed (two singles), air conditioning not working, although cleaners were in every day, it seemed the bare minimum was carried out i.e bed made, towels changed and bathroom bin cleaned out. Apart from this nothing else seemed to be done, the same hairs on the bathroom floor remained from the day we arrived until the day we departed. The living room area of the rooms floor was never cleaned. Another thing of disappointment was breakfast time. It stated that breakfast was until 10:30am, this was very important as at 10:30am on the dot every morning they switched off the coffee machines, stopped the music, turned off the lights and closed the doors, all the while we were all still having (or trying to) our breakfast. This did not make for a relaxing time, more like a bootcamp. Also the food on offer was not the best. This hotel would be better as a self catering base and just concentrate on the rooms and forget about trying to be a 4 star hotel of which I would rate it at about 2 star.

We have just arrived back from the Arenas hotel when we arrived we were told by guest who had been there for over 2weeks.
The hotel had been taken over while they were there, no one bothered to tell us they had also had a star taken off them so the hotel is no longer a 4star.
The food was the worst ever, the dining room dirty the fans in the dining room were full of dust and grease. Blinds broken glass which covered the food dirty, plates shabby and always cold. The bacon was never cooked through everyone was complaining but nothing got done.
The only thing which was ok was the hotel room was nice and clean which we spent most of our time as the hotels entertainment was rubbish, not the best place to go at all if you are about to book this holiday please think again.

If you want to get away to a very calm and secluded hotel this is definitely it. We first stayed at Hotel Arena for our honeymoon and we now go back year after year as the stay is always better than we last remember each time.
The staff are friendly and extremely welcoming. The pool is never really busy and provides well for the children in the day with a safe pool area and entertainment team. The breakfast and dinner that are part of the half board package are always different, plentiful and just 5 star quality.
Rooms are kept wonderfully clean as is the complex itself.
The nearest town is a 20-30 minute walk but if the reception staff call for a taxi they are prompt and they journey is quick and very cheap. In the town there is a beautiful port and the people are all very friendly.
The Thomas Cook reps are also great. They seemed to be there very often and always pleased to help. We will always travel with Thomas Cook now as we’ve had continued success with them.

The apartment was lovely and spacious. The bathroom was spacious also. There was a fridge in our room which was great for keeping our water and chocolate cold!!
Staff were nice and friendly and helpful. The apartments were cleaned regularly and the pool area was nice and clean.
Our only complaint was the food. It was very basic, not a lot of selection and mostly warm. After 2 days, we stopped eating there and eat out instead!
We hired bicycles for 2 days so that we could go to Flag Beach. This was lovely as it took you away from it all and it was easy travelling on the road. Flag Beach was never that busy which suited us and the bikes were easily tied up at a post along the beach road so you didn't have to drag them in through the sand. We were also able to keep the bikes in the back of the hotel overnight which was a bonus.
Things were relatively cheap and taxis were only €2-€3 euros to get you into the town. The bus transfer between the airport and the resort was very quick.
This was a very nice and quiet hotel so if you are into somewhere that is busy, this is not the hotel for you!
Well worth going to the Market (on Mondays) which was right up at the top of the road (about 10 min) walk as there were loads of handbags and really nice ones and once you haggle you could walk away with a lovely handbag for €15 euro. They always started the prices at €30-€35 euro. I bought 4 and they were all different kinds and I have not yet seen anyone that has the same handbag as me at home! I am only sorry I didn't buy more!!!
This is my third time to Fuerteventura, only my first time to this Hotel and overall, this holiday and Hotel was nice but would only go back to this Hotel on a self catering basis!

I booked this hotel last minute, so to be honest my expectations weren't very high, but all I can say, once again is WOW!
My brother and his family have stayed in Corralejo for the past 3/4 years and have always been happy with where they’ve stayed. He met me as I arrived at my hotel to help me book in etc as he'd arrived a few days previous. Upon entering my room he was gobsmacked! One phrase described how he felt 'GREEN WITH ENVY', my room and the facilities I had access to were miles ahead of his! The room was air-conditioned; it had a fridge; a huge balcony; a beautifully tiled bathroom with a large mirror; the most powerful shower I've ever experienced (no joke!); a massive bed and lovely sliding mirrored wardrobes. The room was very spacious with a sofa and coffee table and of course a TV which had free channels unlike his 'pay-per-view' ones!
I was staying half-board at the Arena. The food was really good and set out in a buffet style, both meals were well varied and the staff lovely. At night meats were cooked fresh in front of you on a hot plate. There was always fresh fruit in the morning and at night. All in all, I couldn't have anticipated the quality of the food.
Hotel Arena is ideal for a quieter holiday; it has two ample swimming pools, a small shallow child's pool, comfortable sun loungers, a snack bar by the pool, a raised Jacuzzi and showers by the side to rinse yourself off. The reception staff were excellent and were always very well-mannered. The cleaning staff were always on hand if you needed fresh towels or something cleaned in your room, and were just as happy to leave you be if you preferred! I would rate this hotel very highly and wouldn't hesitate to return tomorrow (if I'd the money for a second holiday so soon!)
It’s about a 10 minute, brisk walk from the centre of Corralejo, but it’s a pleasant walk, and allows you to burn off the calories you indulged in during the meals provided! If however, you’re not as willing to walk, for just over 3 euros a taxi will take you into town! I challenge anyone to find fault with this hotel, I am VERY picky, and I was pleased with a capital P!!!

I can not praise the arena enough. I went with my boyfriend for a 10 day holiday and had a wonderful time and I consider myself to have high standards. The food was nice, widely ranged and something for everyone (ignore the moaners).
The location was good. From the centre a 15 minute walk away or a 2 euro taxi ride. So hiring a car ISNT a must! We didn’t! The rooms were lovely! Spacious with a separate sofa. Plenty of storage, a fridge, kettle and TV in the room, with very effective air con.
The bathroom was a good size and was very nice -(marble) with a big mirror, bath and shower! The rooms are cleaned thoroughly every day by the maids. They are spotless. The staff are very friendly and are always happy to help. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely go back again!

My husband and myself went to the hotel Arena beginning of September, the Hotel was very nice and clean the staff where very nice but the food on the first week was disgusting.
I had to complain, but they got a new chef in the second week and the food got a bit better apart from that we enjoyed a nice relaxing holiday, we are going back in Sept 07 to try again.

Aug 2006, Mrs R Newman

My daughter (aged 15) and I booked this break a week prior to departure. We wanted a relaxing holiday with lots of opportunities for water sports which we got (except for water skiing as the sea is too choppy apparently.)
I cannot praise the Hotel Arena strongly enough. It provided a delightful balance of super, spacious, clean, comfortable and most importantly air conditioned accommodation complete with double balcony, absolutely gorgeous food (told the chef I would need to go home on a bigger plane!) great facilities for swimming and playing ball games in the pools, fun entertainment e.g. water gym provided by a mad Italian, very polite and attentive staff, diverse mixture of nationalities (not too many Brits thank goodness), TV with two English channels - was able to watch the News, free bus twice a day to the beautiful Flag beach - what more can I say.
Only sampled the evening entertainment once - Spanish dancing which was of a high standard but was there to relax, swim, walk, play and read.
There was a supermarket within walking distance and the main resort can be reached on foot or by taxi 2 - 3 euros although not a lot on offer except a picturesque harbour.
Go snorkeling or swim off a catamaran. Take a tour of the island.
If you want a cultural holiday, this is not it. However, if you want to recharge your batteries and frolic in the water (without being surrounded by loads of youngsters) this is for you. If you don't like the water and the wind which is blustery and beautifully warm, try somewhere else!
I would return for the same type of holiday again sometime in the future, this time bringing my husband as well as said teenager who had a surprising amount of fun with her grumpy old Ma!
