Heaven at the Harmony Suites
from CJ&ROGER
We found the Harmony suites via the internet and were lucky to find something as we were coming to St Lucia for the jazz festival and were late booking any accommodation. From the moment we arrived we received a warm welcome. The Suite we stayed in had its own private sundeck, double jacuzzi bath, four poster bed etc. and was lovely. The position of the Harmony suites is perfect and the view from the balcony every morning was stunning. I was getting up at 6 every morning (I never do this at home !) and sitting out on the sundeck just enjoying the view. We ate at The Edge (waterfront restaurant) most mornings and had several meals in the evening. The food here is fantastic. The view is magnificent and the presentation amazing! We have eaten in many top restaurants around England including Le Manoir (Raymond Blancs restaurant) and The Edge is superb. The staff at Harmony suites are very helpful and friendly and I would recommend Esther on the front desk who is brilliant. She was so helpful with getting us organised on trips etc I dont think we would have done half of what we did without her! I would also recommend Pearl who does the in-house beauty treatments.. she is lovely and would recommend her for a holiday manicure, pedicure or massage. We will definitly go back to Harmony Suites and if we could we would buy room 11 as we loved it so much. I would also say that it is the perfect place for a Honeymoon or special romantic occasion as it is small, quite private and there are no children. You dont need to spend a fortune at Sandals when you have a place like this.
Fine for a cheaper St lucia - Hotel !

Stayed on Business - Staff helpful - remember you are on Caribbean time ! rooms large - do need refreshing - not bad for 135USD - per day though. I was on business - so was out - the restaurant was awesome, and I would recommend it to anyone going there. If you are thinking of booking all inclusive - try this place - and on the money you save - eat out, buy a few Piton Lagers and explore the Island. I really liked it - and was sad to leave after 2 days. St lucia has a lot more to offer than Hermetically sealed resorts that cost the earth - and this place may help you see that - Remember the beaches are all public - so buy a few rolls and beers and plonk yourself on someone elses beach ! If you are not staying try restaurant & enjoy the oustanding service ! Would use this place agian for Business or holiday, Recommend upgrading to the waterside suites ! Car hire from Hertz was good service - they also have local Hire onsite and a web cafe !
Loved the Harmony Suites..!!!

After a stressful year we went to the Harmony Suites for a complete chill out and that's exactly what we got. We upgraded to a waterfront suite and would recommend doing this, as the view over the bay is wonderful. We spent a lot of our time just sitting on the shaded balcony reading books and watching the world go by. The suite was very spacious and the maid kept it spotlessly clean, the sheets and towels were changed twice during our one week stay. We found the receptionists very friendly although the ladies are a bit reserved at first which seems to be a running theme on St Lucia but as soon as you start chatting to them they are really friendly (can't say the same for the lady in the shop though!!!) Pearl and Lindy in the Body Shop are absolute sweethearts, so a visit to them for a bit of pampering is a must. The restaurant (The Edge) is a little bit expensive but the food was the best we tasted and beautifully presented, very upmarket. The shops and restaurants in Rodney Bay are virtually on the doorstep (Spinakers by the beach is also worth a visit). We will definitely be returnig to St Lucia and will be staying at the Harmony Suites again as it was an absolute pleasure staying there.

We stayed at the Harmony Suites for 1 week. We had booked a luxury waterfront suite and were very upset to discover on arrival that we were to be downgraded to a premium suite for the first 3 nights. The hotel were very apologetic and offered both monetry and complimentry compensation. The premium suite was in fact very nice and the staff went out of their way to be pleasant and helpful. We went out for the day on the day we were due to be moved and all our luggage was moved for us. The luxury waterfront suite was fantastic and we would definately go again and recommend them to our friends. We ate at some very nice places but our favourite was Buzz and we enjoyed the water ferry over to Pigeon Island. Rodney Bay and the Marina is a lovely place and we met many very nice people, both local and tourists.
The very best!!!!

Ideal setting and room

Harmony Suites is just as the name implies, harmony, peace and quite. The location is stunning as its on the marina side and quiet. The room was a one bedroom apartment with spacious lounge, kitchen area with everything you need, fridge, stove and oven, toaster, kettle and coffee machine. The room we had overlooked the pool and then lovely marina with the yachts. On the water front was a superb resturant, delicious food and magnificient view as on the water, literally. On either side is the deck area to sunbathe with a gentle breeze blowing or for the late night Gin and Tonic, very peaceful watching the stars. Reception staff helpful and friendly. Also the best massage ever, a must. A 2 minute walk brings you to the bustling beach which is also very pretty and a very good resturant on the beach. On the main road alot of very tasty places to eat with prices varying. All in all a wonderful place to stay and would defineatley recommend it!!!
oh so.........wonderfully caribean!!!

Just wanted to say that we had a fab time at Harmony Suites....... We had waited all year for this holiday and it was everything that we could have hoped for!! Harmony was exactly the same as it had been described in the brochure/web site and was exactly what we we expected. Small, intimate and very caribean!! Yes, the rooms required a little up dating and the pool was freezing but we were staying at a typical Caribean hotel..... The restaurant adjoining Harmony has recently been taken over by new chef "Bobo" and the restaurant certainly had "The edge"(very appropriatly called).... Good Luck to Bobo and his excellent team, the food was excellent, the view of the harbour stunning and the staff were fantastic!!! Rodney Bay has a multitiude of restaurants to choose from and the lovely beach is only a few minutes walk away... Take a small boat ride over to Pigeon Island, its beautiful!! We had a wonderful holiday and met some smashing people and have been left with some truly happy memories.......
Very Good with the odd exception!

The hotel is really well situated for the bars and cafes of Rodney Bay as well as being near the beach. The room (we were in a basic suite) while not large was comfortable and clean, with a seperate sitting area and tea and coffe maker as well as a toaster and basic crockery. the view from out balcony was breath taking. The pool is small but well maintained and in a lovely setting. We had had a letter saying the restaurant would be closed as it was being taken over. However the new owner Bobo opened with what he described as a limited menue when we were there. The breakfast was good and the dinners were really excellent. Situated right on the bay with wonderful views I think his place, to be called The Edge will be the place to eat in St Lucia when he is fully open. There is a beauty salon on site and Pearl is one of the best masseuse I have ever had. I even got a free manicure for being such a good customer and I felt very relaxed by the end of the holiday. Well all this must seem glowing so what was the snag? The cleaning staff were great but the reception staff were unfriendly and very unhelpful. The reception area itself is also drab. If they want to really up there game that is where the attention is needed!
Good and Bad

Having just returned from the Hotel I have mixed feelings. On the one hand the Hotel is in a great location, beach a couple of minutes walk, and to find so many quality restaurants in the Caribbean only within a five minute walk was amazing. Our favorite had to be the Italian down by the triangle the best italian food outside of Italy. The rooms were nice and spacious, but a little dated and could have done with a good clean, howver the bed was very comfortable and clean. The jacuzzi bath was a nice feature but getting a little old and tired. The grounds of the hotel were well maintained as was the pool. The food was avergae but tasty, the barmen were great fun and did add to the whole feeling of the Caribbean. Thats the good stuff..... on the downside I too found that the staff on reception were somewhat unhelpful, almost giving the impression that you were putting them out. Five days running I asked to change money and everyday they said no, I also mentioned that in the brouchure this was an adults only resort (don't mind kids but sometimes its nice for a break) however two familys were there but the staff just shrugged at me, also mentioned that the private deck was not private (we had the jaccuzzi waterfront) as it was not only shared with the room next door but also the dive boat which moored there and meant you had no view while on your deck. Also the restaurant closes all day Sunday... To sum up the owner clearly new the place needed a lick of paint as they were refurbing the restaurant on the day of the departure, added to this it looked like they were going to do an overall makeover. Finally, great location but as a hotel you might as well be in a private villa, my suggestion go to Ledera... Having lived in the Caribbean for two years running a small hotel...shop around...
An amazing holiday

My boyfriend and i have just spent 10 days at the Harmony (5.8.05 -15.8.05), and im not suprised this place has such good reviews, for the money the Harmony is perfect, we stayed in one of the luxary water suites which was too good to be true the view was amazing. The resort is beautifully kept, the pool was clean and the room was kept spotless. The staff were so friendly and couldnt do enough for you from booking taxies, restaurants and excertions, to clean beach towels in the room even the washing up was done for us (did feel a bit guilty). This is a great location if you dont want all inclusive as you are surounded by restaurants, bars and clubs (i think we tryed them all), we loved the Charthouse and Basils (which is at Harmony), but we had nothing to complain about anywere we ate and its realy good value; £30 - £60 for 2 people. The beach is just across the road and is realy stunning maybe not the best beach in St Lucia but you wont be disapointed, theres somthing for everyone from sunbathing to a choise of water sports. If you are looking for real privicy this is the resort for you, the price was a deffinate plus (we booked through Expedia), we are already planning a return trip to the Harmony in March. My recomendation would be to go for it for the money you wont find better. Please feel free to Email me with any questions jackielyon@hotmail.co.uk and enjoy th Harmony Jackie and Ben

I loved this holiday. The accommodation is basic but very pleasant and clean. We stayed in one of the suites overlooking the waterfront so it was a little more expensive but still very reasonable. There is a pleasant bar/restaurant where the service was a little... more
