If you're considering this place then think again or be prepared to be sorely disappointed!

It's very tired, stale, worn-out & nothing like a real boutique hotel.

The rydal suite is tired, tatty and above the boiler room which makes sleeping difficult. However, this room looks very nice on the website due to some clever photography angles!

Save yourself some money and try another boutique hotel - in fact ANY hotel, appart from this one.

On arrival thought it was a nice place staff very friendly room looked nice but from a distance as you looked closer the finishing detail was very poor. Hole cut out of wall for tv not even straight, wires hanging out of wall for earthing in bathroom was not dangerous but for £160 a night you expect the finishes to be better. Breakfast poor but all the staff very friendly and also went to ask to borrow a dvd that they say you can on the website and was charged £3.50 and they were normal copies bought from a shop not meant for rental. In my experience the guy that owns this hotel has skimped on costs but expects the earth for his rooms the only good thing was the spa bath, i would not reallly recomend this hotel.

WE HAD HEARD ABOUT 21 THE LAKES AND HOW VERY NICE IT WAS BUT ON ARRIVAL WE FOUND IT TO BE MORE THAN THAT.IT IS AN EXCELLENT HOTEL WITH QUALITY AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE IF STAYING MIDWEEK,WEEKENDS ARE A LITTLE MORE.THE BREAKFAST WAS FANTASTIC,THE ROOM WAS LARGE AND INVITING AND VERY CLEAN.BEST OF ALL WAS ITS POSITION.SLAP BANG IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LAKES AND AN IDEAL SPOT FOR WALKING AND HIKING ETC.OVERALL A GREAT HOTEL IN A GREAT BASE WITH NOT TO MUCH COST INVOLVED.
