myself husband and inlaws have just come back on mon 25th sept 11 from this hotel the rooms are really distusting something from the 1950s pool resterant and reception is lovely and food fair but we had a one bed apartment in a block the beds were rock hard and one of beds in living area was what we would call a pasting board at home.the next day i went to reception to be moved and they said that was what we payed for i dont call paying 3500 pound for what we had we had to get our thomas cook rep to get us moved into another room which was much better i think the hotels over priced for its condition.
- Advice: if you stay ask for block c or d better rooms

Just back from Protaras and Vangelis. The hotel is great. The funiture in the apartment was not fantastic, but we spent our days outside not inside looking at the intrior. The hotel and the pool-area was very clean. The staff was helpful and friendly ,especially in the diningroom and bar. And the food!!!!! we had breakfast and dinner there every day for our 2 weeks stay and just loved the buffets. Can not understand that anybody would not like the food in Vangelis!!!!Also location of Vangelis is great, just a few meters to walk and you are in the centre of Protaras. We will go back to Cyprus, and to Vangelis!
- Advice: enjoy the food in the hotel,go halfboard or all inclusive
- Good For: Beach
- Board Basis:halfboard

We stayed at the Vangelis and went self catering, the apartment was of an adequate standard but it was right next to a Kareoke bar so it was very noisy. There were electrical wires exposed under the headboard and there was a cigarette burn in the sink! But it was clean and we had clean towels and bedding nearly everyday. We did have a great seaview though so it wasn't all bad! The pool was lovely and there were plenty of loungers.
Protaras itself was lovely, we especially liked the Fools and Horses Bar and the Cheers bar the staff were delightful.Ayia nappa is only a short bus ride and is definately worth a visit. We would certainly go back again. 10/10 for Protaras

booked with olympic holdidays paid £3,500+ for two adults ,2 teenagers. The room was absolutly disgusting. It stunk of urine, had ants running everywhere even in the bedroom, the fridge was broken on the handle and mouldy, the bed settee was broken with a big hole in the middle, the toilet was leaking, rust was running down the walls, mould was all around the bath and floor, there were white stains on the settees, the bath water was coming out brown, what more can i say! save your money and don't go there. I complained to the tour operator with no satisfaction, basically they don't give a damn. I am only writing this because i don't want other families going and having to put up with this kind of filth. It totally ruined our holiday and we would never go there again. The entertainment around the pool was good and protaras its self is beautiful, so if you want a nice place to stay i recommend you find another accommadation.be warned.

I have stayed in a few different apts in Protaras, and was a bit dubious when we booked, as we had got such a good deal! But on arrival at the apts I was pleasantly surprised how quickly we were checked in.
On entering our one bedroom apt it was spacious and exceptionally clean, which continued throughout our stay.
This was the first year we have gone all inclusive, which was well worth it. The food was exceptional!!! Not forgetting your drinks, through the day pints of water and ice cream to cool down, and into the twilight hours whatever drink you desire!!
There was Entertainment day and night. Gemma, Jodie and Brett working their charm on all to join in the daily and nightly activities.
The staff were always helpful and cheerful.
I would highly recommend this accommodation!!!
P.S. Already looking to book next year!

After reading reviews on a few sites i was very worried about going on holiday 2 the Vangelis in cyprus. But there was no need 2 have worried at all.
The check in was quick and we were pointed in the right direction of our room. After entering our room i was so happy, it was clean, tidy and actually really nice. The beds werent hard and the kitchen was well equipt. The cleaner came twice a week and changed beds and 6 days out of 7 she emptied bins and changed towels and mopped the floors.
The pool area was clean and we never struggled getting a sun bed even if we didnt arrive until 11am.
We didnt eat at the hotel so i cant comment on food.
Overall we had a great 2 wks at the vangelis. I would go back as it great value 4 money.
- Advice: Great value and good for family

We have just returned from an all inclusive holiday at the Vangelis and we are more than satisfied with the apartment, its cleanliness and its location. The food is excellent and caters for all tastes and the staff are so friendly and helpful. We are now planning a return trip later in the year.
I would recommend the Vangelis to anyone who wants a good value holiday in a fantastic location. I cannot understand why anyone wants to knock the place, it seems they want a
5 star hotel for 2 star money.

We went in the October half term holiday, I cant say what its like the rest of the year but DO NOT go in October. We didnt realise until 3 days in to the holiday that everything-and I mean EVERYTHING shuts up,including all the shops. Surely it shouldn’t matter if we came at the start of the season or the end, EVERYBODY should receive the same welcome, the “entertainers” should be full of beans and act like they actually like kids, the hotel staff should be welcoming and bending over backwards to accommodate everyone. But now that we knew it was the last week before they all went home, it was blindingly obvious they all couldn’t wait to get us out of there. Every day there were less and less sun loungers to lie on around the pool and less and less chairs to sit on at the bar- they were being packed away in front of us. The ice cream fridge was wheeled away half way through the week, and the frozen drink maker was also taken away. There was less and less food every day, and what food there was, was very obviously being recycled eg green beans one night, grean beans in pasta the next, green bean salad the night after (the food was pretty gross, has anyone else ever heard of a banana salad, with a banana salad dressing?-disgusting! ). And to top things off , on more then one occasion we were told, quite happily by the British “entertainers” or reps or whatever you want to call them, that they would be home before us. In fact, one of the gruesome twosome girls made a huge show on the last day in the reception,(when we were all waiting around to go home, bored out of our brains) that her cab was there and she was off home!!
So, there we are, at our outdated apartment, with mis matching, thread bare towels , uncomfortable beds and REALLY BORED kids, and I just cant help but think we have just spent two and a half grand to SLUM IT!! I wish that we had stayed at home – food and surroundings would have been nicer and we all would have had much more fun! The staff were friendly enough and the place was clean, but I didn’t pay all that money for those two basic needs. I expected quality – and I didn’t get it. If this had been a cheap holiday I wouldn’t be writing this letter, as (you think) you get what you pay for. When it comes right down to it, Vangelis as a hotel, DID NOT DELIVER. If we could have come home two days in to the holiday, we would have. That says it all.
- Advice: don't go in October
- Activities: there was nothing to do bored bored bored

Well, where do i start?! it was absolutely amazing, as i went with my dad, his wife and my brother. As soon as you step out of the taxi, we could tell that this hotel and Protaras strip is so family orientated and that this was going to be the holiday of a life time. As we were all inclusive we didnt go out for meals, but the food was Nice enough, i would reccomend going self catering and upgrading as the food got repetetive after a week. Wednesday was BBQ night, i have never ate so much lovely cooked meat anytime of being abroad. Its great for kids, there is plenty to do, and i must say, the Reps were fantastic, after the bar shut on a night we went out with one of the reps down to Rives. The day and night entertainment was great, especially Mr Vangelis. i never went one day thinking, i want to go home, i still want to go back now and its nearly 2 month that i have been back! hopefully i will be going next year again. My dad is going in October on his own with his wife he liked it that much. I would highly reccomend going to Rives and also Rossos bakery and getting them Sugar donughts, they are to die for!. Overall a great holiday in the Vangelis Apartments and would defo reccomend it and to ignore Any bad reviews. Hopefully Will Be Going Back! Miss it so much:) x

well all i can say is that i have stayed at these apartments on four occassions and think they are very well situated for all the facilities you require on holidays. also stayed at the melini next door and i would say value for money vangelis comes out on top, myself, wife and both sis in law and bro in law love cyprus and know the best times to go i would NOT RECOMEND YOU GO IN OCTOBER AS EVERY THING SHUTS DOWN if you intend going; go to either limasol or paphos which is open in october. the service you get from staff at the apartments is very good rooms are very basic but clean and close to all the shops bars and restuarants, 1 place to eat is anotollia on the top road into protaras also yia mias or george's bar, needless to say we r returning to the vangelis in july this year and r very much looking forward to it
