Perfect holiday
from ChristineJane
We found everything just perfect & just as we expected from reviews & hotel web site. If anything we were pleasantly surprised. Having been warned about the tacky hotel neighbouhood we were surprised to find it absolutely OK. Yes it is a town location, but so is the whole of Limassol, yes there are shops & bars mainly serving a nearby UK milatary base, but the area is clean & safe & there are some cool bars & restaurants in the area too. But yes take a sea view room. Restaurant in the hotel is superb, serving lots of fresh fish, vegetables & salad. We ate well, but put little weight on. The staff are friendly, relaxed, but service is excellent. We had asked for a supply of Pomegranate juice to be in stock for our arrival (health reasons). The hotel supplier had let them down, but the food & beverage manager sent staff out in a car to search the ethnic shops & didn't charge us for the juice. Great gym & spa which we used very evening. While we were there the hotel owner celebrated his 90th birthday with a private party, but the hotel guests were able to enjoy the amazing firwork display & the wonderful opera music sung by an opera singer flown in from Vienna. Superb. For the style of hotel we found it very good value for money after Dubai & Mauritius hotels for the same comfort & service but on a human scale.
You can't fault the L'onda
from millsy38
We wanted an "away from it all" break in the sunshine to simply do nothing in luxury and that's exactly what we got at the L'onda Beach. From the road it doesn't look too spectacular (in fact it's just a short walk to KFC and other fast food outlets) but once inside you're transported to a luxury haven away from the hustle and bustle of Limassol. Everything about the hotel was fantastic, from the service, the room - we paid a little extra to get a deluxe sea view room and it was worth every penny - the breakfasts and most of all the pool! Thick matresses on the floor around the pool not only look luxurious, but are also so comfortable whether you're sleeping on your front, back or reading a book. Should you need an umbrella to shield yourself from the heat, you only have to look up and someone will be over to put it up for you. If you need an afternooon cocktail, a sandwich for lunch - anything really - it's all there. OK, so it's not cheap - you can walk 100 yards from the hotel and have a drink for about a third of the price, but the ambience makes the high prices worth it. Going in May meant we had the pool pretty much to ourselves and Limassol itself was not too busy - I can imagine the height of summer would be a different story, but just out of season (if you've no kids it's great!!) it's a wonderful place to recharge the batteries.
Design vs Comfort
from Muscovite
Out of all hotels in Limassol I chose Londa for my short trip in early July. I really liked hotel's site and decided to try it. I went for "design". Actually I did like the property generally. The problem was the lack of basic. One Sunday they had power breakdown which was ok as it was during the day, thanks God they fixed the problem by twilights. Around the pool I've heard there was almost every weekend something's 'happening'. The next day was a real nightmare. In the morning after 'daily routine' in bathroom I found out there was no water, not at all !!! I wasn't being able even flush the toilet or wash my hands!...I had to leave hotel for the whole day.To make it short that was my worse hotel's experience in my 10 years worldwide travelling. Lack of essential things like water and electricity is absolutely unappropriate for all hotels especially for those which position themselves as deluxe or tend to be. So it's up to you what to choose Design or Comfort but definitely smaller hotels cannot guarantee the comfort. If you have a choice then better go for world chain's hotels as you'll find the basic comfort there at least. The talk with hotel's management and then with owners didn't make me feel better as they refused to compensate my ruined vacation offering me just free night in a future as if I'd ever decide to come back.
Supercool design, attention to detail, awful location
from Gemstone4ever
I would return to this hotel in an instant if it could be picked up and moved to another location! We stayed for a week in August and were really impressed by the beautiful decor and stylish vibe that oozed from every pore of this place. The design is very chic and minimalist without being too stark and soul-less. It's an extremely relaxing environment. The sea-front suite was perfect. It was the best thought-out room I have ever stayed in and the attention to detail was first-rate. The bed was gloriously comfortable and the swivel tv which you could watch either from the bed or the sitting room was a really neat idea. The 2 bathrooms were both fine, although not quite as lux as the bedrooms. Slight room for improvement - fresh flowers and fruit on arrival were not replenished + decent tv channels were an addtional charge. The pool area was lovely, although I wish the hotel management would actually follow through on their policy of not allowing guests to cheekily bagsy the loungers at 7am and then turn up for half an hour late afternoon (or not at all)! The food was fine. Breakfast was excellent, lunch by the pool was a little limited and some choices were disappointing (smoked salmon bagel was really rough). Evening meals at the restaurant were good and the restaurant has a lovely ambience. There was an interesting mix of nationalities amongst the guests which made for good people-watching, particularly the glitzy Russian young 'models' with their uncles. The real downside of this place is the location. Frankly, Limassol is a bit of a dump aside from the old port area. The hotel is on a really tacky stretch and we only ventured outside once - didn't want to ruin that zen vibe with chickin' lickin' neon signs.
One of the best and most relaxing hotels I have stayed in

We stayed in the Londa beach in Jul 2006 and had a fantastic experience. This hotel has got to be seen and I have loaded over 20 photographs onto my website -- so feel free to look around. Our room (409), was a “deluxe” room with a side sea view. The room was well proportioned and well furnished with a large comfy bed with a huge soft toy in the shape of a pear (you will see what I mean) Although the pool area is not huge, there is ample space for the number of guests staying in the hotel – particularly as some guests are on business and do not use this area during the day. For me sitting out next to the infinity edged pool overlooking the Med was simply bliss and so peaceful. Downsides; for me only one… The resort directly outside is not great and a bit grotty on a busy dual carriageway, although the harbour is a short (5 minute) drive away with a fine selection of quite restaurants and bars.
Fantastic hotel

My partner and I stayed at the Londa Hotel w/c 17th July 06 and had an amazing experience. The hotel is absolutely beautiful; the italian designer did a fab job on the £5million refurb last year. Our room was immaculate and gorgeous; the food was delicious; and the staff friendly and helpful. In fact they couldn't do enough for us. The area isn't quite so lovely as you leave the hotel but all you need to do is jump in a taxi 5 mins to the old port where you'll find the most amazing al fresco restaurants and traditional tavernas; a shopping area including top designers and high street names and of course the port. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It isn't cheap to eat and drink at the hotel every day but the food is great and worth it and the breakfast buffet caters for everyone - you'll never go hungry with the extra size portions!
Top-design, welcoming atmosphere

Stayed at the Londa Hotel in Limassol mid June during a business trip and was pleasantly surprised. Nice boutique hotel, and better value for money than most luxury chain-hotels offer. The design of the rooms / hotel exceeded my expectations. I booked directly via the hotel website and got a fair deal. Although from the outside, the hotel looks very average, the interior is top-class (even in a standard room where I stayed). There is also a nice pool and a small beach. The staff is friendly and makes you feel at home. The only downside was the internet connectivity where the wifi connection gave quite a lot of problems, so I was obliged to use cables. The hotel is very good situated in the outgoing area of Limassol, though no noice at night when you're in your room.
Out of this World!

I stayed at the Hotel Londa for 8 nights with my g/f, in July 2006. Put simply, it was the most fantastic hotel. We had a suite with a side-sea view. It was a massive area, with excellent air-conditioning. Two bathrooms, a balcony, a huge bedroom - what more could you ask for? The swimmimg pool is wonderful - as is the bar, serving good food. What really makes this hotel is the wonderful service - the people are so friendly and just can't do enough to help you. Breakfast looking out at the Med is so relaxing. In response to a previous post, the hotel is the 9km strip that is Limassol - however, it is set back from the road and so there is absolutely no noise (even with the windows open) and the cab fare to other parts of town will rarely cost more than £5. If you want a top hotel in Limassol then stay here - it's one of the great hotels of the world.
Little Gem

Londa did not disappoint! The hotel is designed beautifully and the staff very attentive. The pool and poolside bar were hard to leave! Great cocktails - a must try. Sundays they throw an all day discrete BBQ by the pool and the food is delicious. Weekends do seem to get busy, as some locals appear to come and use the facilities. Sun beds all claimed by 9.30am, which is always irksome. Our sea view suite was lovely and spacious, the bed very comfortable. Without the sea view it would have been disappointing as the front and sides do not have nice views (sides look straight at the walls of buildings next door). Although the web site states sea view suites have 2 bathroom, some only have 1. The restaurant was average – we only ate their one night, as it was expensive for what it was and not at all local cuisine. They are trying hard to be a 5-star restaurant but we found the food just misses the mark. Instead we went to the older part of Limassol and ate at the cafés and restaurants around the castle, which was just lovely. Definitely take a hire car so if you get pool fever and need to get out you can drive towards Paphos and see some of the amazing ancient ruins (with lovely cool breezes!). The road the hotel is on is grim (strip bars, Irish pubs, clubs, MacDonald’s etc) but the hotel more than makes up for it. Watch out for the beach attendants who can set up jet skis etc. One actually thinks he is ‘Adonis’ and stands flexing his muscles while topping up his tan – very amusing to watch (and he does have a good body)!
More Londa please??

My partner and I have just returned from 4 fantastic nights at Londa. We booked the trip at the last minute after franticly searching for somewhere to go and get some sun, Londa did not disappoint! The hotel has recently been refurbished to a very high level and has all the ingredients for a relaxing time. The pool and surrounding area was definitely the highlight for us, just beautiful with heavenly comfortable sun beds to relax on all day. The spa centre was also lovely and very reasonably priced, approx CY£63.00 for a 3 hour facial/body treatment. All facilities are very clean and the staff are always there to help in anyway they can. Limassol itself is a typical port town with not too much to offer, so it was very important that the facilities where of a high standard. Breakfast was very good with a large selection of fresh fruit, bread/cakes and typical cooked fare. The pool bar was also great with a large selection of cocktails and staff that were happy to help with any special requests. A couple of things that could be improved, only small things! - Bed in the room was huge and beautifully dressed but the quilt would have been more suited for a cold climate, far too heavy for Cyprus weather. - The hotel claims to have 200 hundred TV channels to choose from, this is correct but at an additional fee of CY£3.95 for 3 hours, about UK£4.50. I felt this was unreasonable for a 5 star hotel. The service used Sky and would be far easier to absorb this into the cost of the room each night. The standard TV only had access to English news. - The hotel restaurant was very nice with an incredibly beautiful setting at fairly reasonable prices for 5 star. It would have been nice to see some Cypriot meals on the menu and more focus on the local wine. I would love to stay at Londa again and have just returned wishing we booked for another couple of days. It was totally relaxing and all the Molton Brown was a super nice treat :)
Such a fabulous stay, our suite was excellent the staff were incredible! We all loved the restaurant too.
Very handy for shopping, 7 Seas music venue is a cab ride away. We have already booked for next year.
