Londa Hotel Reviews
" Lovely boutique hotel with a modern... "
Submitted By: Mrs C Harrington
Lovely boutique hotel with a modern minimalist design. I loved staying at this hotel. The service received was the best ever.
The deluxe room with sea view was very beautiful and well kept by maid service at least twice a day. Although the hotel’s location was in the middle of a busy tourist road, it was like being in a little haven inside the hotel with every angle having something tasteful or wonderful views to look at.
The bar area and restaurant also seemed to be a favourite with locals wishing to enjoy the chic surroundings and service in the bar and restaurant. We did have only one pleasant meal in the restaurant in the evening, preferring to explore different places to eat, our favourite was a taxi ride to Limasol castle with their many eateries around the old village. I will definitely return soon!

" We booked through Olympic holidays... "
Submitted By: Mr Ian Blaxland
We booked through Olympic holidays and paid GBP 650 per person for a weeks stay including flights in July 2006. Everything about this hotel is first class! Our room, 409, was a well proportioned "deluxe" room with a side sea view (although being towards the back of the hotel the view was more side than sea). The room itself though is pure style; modern in design with a large queen size bed, Molton Brown toiletries, robes, slippers, fluffy towels, soft linen, satellite TV and a great big cuddly soft toy on the bed in the shape of a pear to finish the room off - surreal but funky (see photo's). The bathroom is also well designed with dark wood, and a powerful shower which literally blasts the water out.
The pool area is far the best bit. If lounging around taking it easy is your thing (and it is mine) then this place is for you. A combination of sun loungers with luxurious mattresses or even thicker and funkier mattresses placed directly on the floor (surprisingly comfy) allow you to chill out all all-day. Large umbrellas erected by attentive staff ensure that nobody gets burnt in the mid-day sun. Even better is there is enough sun loungers for everyone so no early morning rush to bag your spot. Simply take your time, enjoy breakfast and you will be still spoilt for choice at gone 10.
Downsides: Admittedly hard to find. Minor, but the beach outside is very narrow and can get busy with guests from other hotels. A shame as the L'onda has a beautiful veranda overlooking the Med which can be quite noisy.
Upsides: Fantastic hotel, good location, amazing elegant room, very attentive staff, check out the galleries, make up your own mind and book up.

But hey - it would be boring if I just told you the good things - so here is my honest opinion of the holiday taken just after Easter.
Weather - mid 70-'s, some rain, cloud during the day
Best advice - go for a week, take lots of books to read and just relax.
Critique -
This relatively small 5* hotel is set back a little from a busy six lane highway and is on the beach. The entrance is tall and impressive with a huge piece of drift wood featuring in the foyer.
The open plan cocktail bar-come-reception is very chic and comfortable, a magnet for limmasol's rich and beautiful come nightime and weekends. Cocktails both here and around the pool are magnificent but not cheap.
If you are wise you make one last the evening!
There’s no need to rush in the mornings as breakfasts are served till 10.30. We took our breakfasts in a chic and airy dining room at ground level. Chill-out music plays gently. It is buffet style, ample, but with no variation through the week.
We ate here in the evenings too on a couple of occasions - the food was quite good, a la carte, London prices.
A few steps down from this is the pool area. The clean and smallish pool is just a rectangle - no free form styling here, but the sun loungers are comfortable and there's no dreadful disco music piped through the area as is the case with some hotels.
If you like a beach there is one directly beneath the pool area and it has watersports facilities too. But don't expect golden sand - Limassol beaches generally are nothing to write home about. Our bedroom was very modern, light and clean.
Disappointing was a) the side sea view (frankly the view was of some scruffy building and the sea not easy to spot), the TV choice (only free UK channel was sky news), and the monastery-hard bed!
Be aware that the locals love motorbikes, especially ones with faulty exhausts. And they love to roar them up and down the highways outside in the small hours.
The spa belonging to the hotel offers a wide variety of services and is nicely appointed. Expect London prices for facials, hot stone therapy, massage etc. however, the use of the Jacuzzi, steam bath, and sauna is free but only for a few hours a day.
We found this was a good way to wind down though, after a hectic day of sunbathing around the pool.
If you are thinking of venturing outside the hotel - frankly it's hardly worth the bother. Limassol is a bit of a dump unless you like Irish and British pubs with football playing endlessly on big screens, cheap gift shops, chips-wiv-evrifink cafes (with photos of the food outside just in case you don't know what a burger looks like), and a resident blokie outside trying to drum up trade by virtually dragging you through the door.
However, always busy is the Hagen daz franchise. It just a few steps away towards town and is a worthwhile watering hole. A good place to people watch too. If you have serious money to spend there are now lots of furriers (I guess catering for the Russian market which is ever growing here) and jewellers.
There are a couple of nightclubs and gentlemen’s clubs within walking distance of the hotel. Don’t get there before 1 or 2 in the morning though as you will find them empty. People generally eat and party very late here.
For more traditional meze (Greek form of tapas) or better shopping, jump in a cab (costs about a fiver) and ask to go to the old town. Here you will find some traditional restaurants. One night we ate at the five star hotels next door - nice enough food in a huge restaurant with zero atmospheres. In fact, it reminded me of an old people's home!
Olympic holidays run a tight ship. I have used them before on several holidays and have no complaints. The staff in the hotel were very polite and helpful.
This hotel is very, very clean. The local people we have met have all been very pleasant. Crime here is very rare it seems - sadly every time I have been to Spain I have been robbed, but I have never experienced this in Cyprus.
That’s it! If you choose the Londa hotel in Limassol I am sure you will not encounter any problems that can't be easily cover come.
