Quies Hotel

Picture in your mind everything you wish in a hotel, and forget it! This place is a glorified B&B, dated, shabby, and small. On arriving in the early evening, the hotel was locked up. I had to gain access by a side door, walk through the kitchen and unlock a door into the reception area. I tried several times to contact our hosts on a mobile number that we found in the reception area and got no reply. About half an hour later, Alex appeared and showed us to our room. Well, we booked this based on the reviews here. Unfortnately we were a little disappointed. We're a family of 4 and all rooms are dbls (except one on the upper level) but there's two adjoining rooms with a door between which we requested when we booked about 6 or 7 months ago. Upon arrival, someone else was in one of the rooms so we were squeezed into a triple room on the upper level. This is a lovely family run place. Very welcoming indeed, in fact they couldn't do enough for you, even gave us a packed lunch for our journey home. Just as welcoming to hen parties as they are to couples etc. They even let you bring takeaways back and provide plates and cutlery for you. Breakfast was great and there was plenty to choose from, they even had a little fridge you could use to store things. Would definately go again

To make a start, I dont really understand the bad review left by the previous member (pjatravel), as it doesnt state wether he/she actually stopped in the Quies. Anyway, heres how my stay went. A 7 night minimum will make it impossible to ever partake of this hotel. The staff aren't very friendly to any other alternatives and they will not recommend any other locations in the area. A most unfriendly Alex was less than accomodating. I don't think that this would bode well for anyone seeking to share their B&B.

Quies Hotel, Newquay: "Highly recommended!" We stayed at the Quies Hotel for a few days at the end of January 2007 and thoroughly enjoyed the visit! The room was clean, warm and comfortable, with an immaculate en-suite included. Our room housed a larger TV than we have normally had in most UK hotels, within which was also a DVD player. This was our first time to Newquay and to this Hotel. We arrived in the rain and were greeted with a big smile and an offer to dry our things; from then on we had a great stay at the Quies. The room was very comfortable, the owners were great and the big breakfast set us up nicely for the day. They are centrally located just a few minutes from the sea front and local shops. In their communal area they offer free broadband access, a PS2 with lots of games and a treasure trove of DVDs free to borrow and watch either in your room or in the... more

Have been to Newquay frequently over the past 9 years and have never stayed in a more friendly hotel. It was clean, the facilities were great (especially for the price), everything was close by, but most of all the staff were SO helpful, could not have asked for more. Also let me mention the breakfast, so much food that we didn't need lunch! Had a great time there, so much so that am going back to stay there in the summer.

The welcome at this Hotel was wonderful ! Every effort & more made to make you welcome & comfortable. Lovely bright & clean room & ensuite shower room. Great Breakfast ! This is an excellant hotel and the owners go the extra mile to provide those little extras. Great Value for money, Give this Hotel a visit & you won't be disappointed.

went to newquay for the new year and what a great time we had the town was buzzin everyone in fancy dress unreal, the hotel is excatly as other people have described it brillant Alex cant do enough to help advising us where to eat etc, brillant breakie, being able to to borrow free of charge the dvds is a great idea, defo use this hotel again
