I thought I had found out everything...

I thought I had found out everything about the property & area before I went but I was wrong. The property is not a hotel, it is a house & it is perfect. The accommodation is on 3 levels with patio area (with table & chairs) on ground floor.
Double doors lead into a Kitchen/Dining area (quite dark & very cool). The kitchen is completely fully equipped, cooker, hob, dishwasher, microwave, every utensil possible, tea towels, etc. there is a shower/toilet room off this with a washing machine in. Wide wooden stairs lead to 1st floor accommodation. Large corner sofa (also makes very comfortable beds), bar (with fridge & sink in corner), TV & CD player leading out to Balcony (with small table & chairs).
More wooden stairs lead to top floor in roof, 1 double bedroom & one bathroom with large corner unit Jacuzzi bath with shower. There is another balcony off the bedroom too. Also bedroom has air conditioning. All windows and doors have shutters to keep them cool. The owners & Croatian caretakers have thought of everything.
There was some Pivo (Croatian Lager in fridge), some milk, bread & red wine as well as a small box of washing powder. It really is home from home but with fantastic views. One small word of warning - we don't drive so didn't take up the option of car hire (couldn't understand why this was offered as the house & Mlini are so close to Dubrovnik, Cavtat etc. Reason is that the house is half way up a mountain. Slight exaggeration, but it really is a very long steep climb.
I cannot recommend this accommodation more - and also Thomson who were excellent too. I sobbed when I left.
The area is stunning with crystal clear water. There are some restaurants in Mlini - the vegetarian one is perhaps the best (does fish too) - service was brilliant as were the complementary brandy's!
Dubrovnik is stunning - if you are able, walk around the walls of the old town. Fantastic. Cavtat is also beautiful but as with many of the Croatian towns, its important to remember the war in the early 90's. Many buildings were destroyed & tourism came to a complete standstill. Gradually Croatia is being rebuilt and some areas look unaffected. But perhaps take a look at Srebrena (next town/village on from Mlini to Dubrovnik (especially by boat). It makes you realise what these lovely people have been through & what else still needs to be done.
The Croatians are wonderful people, very proud - they desperately now need tourism to get their country back to how it used to be. I am quite new to traveling - if you are looking for 'Blackpool' but in the sun, then Croatia is not for you. If you want to see unspoiled natural beauty then perhaps this is. Enjoy it if you can.
