Everglades Park Hotel

After reading the reviews we as parents of the happy couple, hoped they would stay that way. Our rooms were all a good size, clean and pleasant. Staff, there were many, what they lacked in experience they made up for in number. The Management need to do some managing and leading, not bjust let the staff go anywhere they felt like. attended a new years eve function. had to wait over an hour to be served our food, which was of average quality. Later in the evening customers who appeared to be friends or family of the bar staff, were on the dance floor smoking and holding glasses, hence, drinks being spilled on the floor. Somebody had also vomited in the male toilets and it was after an hour of reporting this to the management that someone came to clean it up. The hotel itself was o.k the room was simple and the food in the restraunt was of good quality and quantity.But unfortunatley the staff let them down big time. They never seemed to be around if you needed anything for example from the bar you had to ask reception to find the barstaff. eventually i discovered there hiding space in a empty funtion room where all waiters, chefs and barstaff where sat around watching a protable d.v.d player. This hotel is average, I use it a lot for business. The main things to watch, the new part of the hotel has nice rooms, but there are some rooms in the older part of the hotel that need looking at. There has been some redecoration recently throughout. If you are a wine buff this place will be a disappointment as when you ask for a glass of wine it comes in the aircraft style bottles (twist top etc), they even go through the motions of showing you the label, screwing off the top and letting you taste it.
