The Lymm Hotel

My husband and I were married here late May. We had the whole day here and we could'nt fault the hotel at all. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The food was delicious. We had the wedding meal, evening buffet and breakfast the next morning. We, along with quite a lot of our relatives and friends stayed the night and all complimented the rooms. Ours was spotless and quite a large on-suite (but it was the bridal suite) but all the other rooms seem spacious enough. All in all a lovely hotel.

stayed at the hotel for a family members wedding. hotel couldnt do enough for us as with the amount of family there we were in total spending a small fortune. but the hotel was exeptionally clean but dated. however for the hotels location its is over expensive on food and beverages.

The MacDonald hotel chain is a brand I used to trust. After this experience I'm now less certain. The rooms are very old and tired here. Our bathroom shower had a broken hot water tap, the bed was soft and the decor, well, matched the rest of the room. The only saving grace here, are the staff and restaurant which were both of a high standard. Upon leaving this dissappointing room, we noticed, the sign out front had three misaligned stars with one faded star outline. Having just stayed at the luxurious Macdonald Leeming House Hotel in the Lake District, I was expecting more from this hotel but I was probably expecting too much. This is a fairly ordinary English business hotel located conveniently for the M6. It is nothing special. The food in the restaurant is OK and there is a fairly ordinary bar. Rooms are small and slightly tatty. It's OK for a one night stay but that's about it.

Overpriced rooms...marks on the walls and hair round the plughole in the bath.. Breakast cost £15 so we didn't bother..there were 7 of us and none of has a good nights sleep..hard beds and staff hoovering at 8am. Couldn't open the windows at the back more than 6 inches because of the bars over them hence a very hot room. Reception lady very offhand and no info given regarding checkout the next day. I'm afraid they have a captive audience up there...the area is lovely but we certainly wont be staying there again.

When you book a three star hotel you expect the standard to be average, right? But you do expect the staff to be courteous and a good level of cleanliness. I was wrong on both counts. When I checked in the lady behind reception ignored me while she chatted to her colleague about “what a great night she had last night”, after she had finished she then proceeded to just grunt at me as we went through the checking in procedure.
