Rowton Hall Hotel

Booked for a long weekend away in Chester (Birthday treat!) Initial impression was very nice (if a little hard to find!) Good service at check-in, allocated Room 6. I booked Rowton Hall after seeing the fabulous reviews on Trip Advisor and after receiving the hotels literature which looked great. The trip was to celebrate my sister-in-law's hen party - so we wanted somewhere that would be able to accommodate 9 of us - particularly in the spa and the health club. I booked this hotel as a birthday surprise for my fiance on the 25th june. We arrived in time to watch the world cup on the hotel room tvs, they have thought of everything even having a tv in the bathroom! brilliant. The entire stay was a success, the hotel was perfect as was the food. I would recommend this to anyone of all ages we are 25 and 31yrs, and we loved it. Chester is a lovely place to visit I will definatley be returning to this hotel soon worth every penny.

Decided to book a last minute stay and Rowton Hall was recommended by a friend. Most welcoming staff, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was everything the website said it would be, we will definately be back!

My husband and I recently spent our first wedding anniversary at this hotel and we had a fantastic stay. Upon arrival we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite which was lovely. The leisure centre is a great facility with friendly staff. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was excellant and again the staff could not do enough for you. There was a wedding at the hotel the same evening and the staff were keen to ensure that it did not disturb us and they suceeded.

We stayed for 2 nights during races week. The room was beautifully decorated and had verything we needed. Room service arrived quickly, food was good and the wine was nicely chilled. Breakfast on day 1 was very good but the service was a little dodgy on day 2. The furniture throughout the hotel makes it feel more than 3 star and the grounds are stunning. Plenty of outside space and patio areas for use in good weather. The gym and pool are also in very good condition and a pleasure to use.

I am an uncompromising so and so, therefore to be impressed by a hotel takes some doing. I booked my stay online then phoned through to confirm my reservation and book dinner. When I phoned I spoke to the most helpful and accomodating receptionist, Rachael I think her name is, that I have ever come across. She absolutely made the stay for us by giving a free upgrade (always nice, but it was my Birthday) then even allowed my girlfriend and I to change our dinner reservations en route as the traffic was really busy. Work in Chester 2-3 days a week and have tried virtually all the hotels. Rowton Hall was highly recommended by business colleagues. Rooms varied in size and comfort levels. Dinner varied in quality - sent two separate meals back for being cold and one starter for still being frozen in the middle. Breakfast very good. Bar is huge but mid week its empty. 10 minute ride into town for meals/bar/company

I booked this hotel as a stop-off for our journey to the Lake District, based on tripadvisor reviews. Would agree with the comments of others who have used the hotel - in that it is tastefully decorated, clean and the staff, during our stay, welcoming and helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant in the evening - pleasant enough, but tiny portions of food on huge plates always leaves me feeling a little ripped-off. We got married here, but this hotel is not just for weddings. If possible go for a master suite and enjoy the view over countryside. The pannelled walls give true character to the place and the staff are polite yet understated. Recommend this.
