I thought this was the worst place I...

Oct 2007, Miss R Harbourne

I thought this was the worst place I have ever been in my entire life, if the rating would allow it I would have scored it zero!
Apartments - In serious need of refurbishment i.e. plastering, painting, cleaning i.e. mould removing from toilet handle, up dating the list goes on.
Pool - Dirty, slippery, cold, sun loungers - filthy and broken.
Entertainment - Didn't watch it, but could hear it!!! Most definitely the most annoying people in the universe and the worse singers making the XFactor rejects look like pop stars!! By the end of the 2 weeks my boyfriend and I were hoping to get sectioned just to get away from the awful noise that they advertised in the brochure as 'Entertainment'.
Food - Don't know, didn't want to risk eating it if the rest of the place was anything to go by!
Supermarket - Staff friendly, this was only because they were practically charging you £3 for a newspaper!!! The prices were very high! It was nothing more than day light robbery!
My overall conclusion for this place is that : - I would never go back even if I was offered the chance for free. Advertising the hotel as a 3* + is nothing more than a lie, I wouldn't rate it above a 1. A total disappointment and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, I wouldn't let my worst enemy go there. Totally horrific, totally Chav and full of people with no manners. If you like living in s**t then this is the place for you.

My boyfriend and I have just returned...

Oct 2007, Miss K Fleming

My boyfriend and I have just returned from our weeks stay at Broncemar Beach hotel, we really enjoyed it and had a fantastic time. The weather was brilliant and the hotel clean and tidy and we didn't see a single cockroach in our time there although there were a few mosquitoes.
Although it was very nice it was a very family orientated resort and not ideally suited to couples without children. Most of the staff were very friendly especially Katherine and Jonny who were both funny and very nice, although I did find some of the other staff favoured some guests above others, and mentioning no names one of the entertainment team I found to be quite rude she blanked me on several occasions.
We did take the opportunity to take the trip to Lanzarote which was very enjoyable but quite a long trip as we were one of the first to be picked up. All in all it was a lovely holiday.

Just got back from a fabulous holiday.
Although we loved the food in the buffet on half board we would not go half board again as the children did not eat much the two weeks we were their. (Not a lot of choice for kids).
The reps were the best we had so much fun with them and they were fabulous with the girls, these people are wasted they should be on TV they are so funny!

The beds round the pool are broken and the hotel should look into this and bed saving does go on with people going out and not coming back till late afternoon.
The apartment was very clean and cleaned every other day good on the cleaners.
In all we had an excellent holiday and meet some lovely people.
Thanks to the reps for making our holiday.

Sep 2007, Mrs D McLauchlan

Myself, my husband and our two kids aged 11 and 4 stayed at the BB for 2 weeks and we loved it.
We were a bit worried after reading the reviews but take no notice of the bad ones, its fab.
The apartment we were in 230 was good, there's no air conditioning but we didn't need a fan as the room faces the back. Also we didn't hear any noise at night.
The reps Johnny, Scott, Abby, CK, and Jen were hilarious and fantastic with the kids. The kids club is also good and the Brazilian football is great for boys. Danny the coach is lovely.
Go to Fado Rock early for a table outside, it's the best food in the world! Mexican Corner is also really food. all in all we never had a bad meal once.
Go to Oasis Park for a great day, out its so cheap when you get there and go to the market on Saturday mornings for great fakes!
Would definitely recommend this holiday and we will be back in a couple of years.

Apartments in the Broncemar were...

Aug 2007, jojobear

Apartments in the Broncemar were lovely - clean and pretty. There was a strange black and red bug in the bathroom but otherwise we had no problems! The resort itself is peaceful and safe.
The pool was really nice, and the staff were friendly. The only problem with caleta de fuste as a whole is that it's extremely family-oriented - my boyfriend and I are in our early twenties and wanted a quiet break - but it was actually a bit too quiet!
Nothing to do in the evening unless you like cabaret. However I would definitely recommend it to families or people looking to drop on the beach for a week.

We have just returned from the...

Aug 2007, Mrs N Norris

We have just returned from the Broncemar Beach which we had a great time at. The hotel was lovely and very clean. The ladies toilets down by the bars really stank though I told the rep who told me it was the drains, they got worse as the day/night went on. The room we were in 361 was very clean and spacious. The bedding was only changed once during our two week stay and we only had one cockroach the day before we left.
The room did get very hot at nights as there was no air conditioning. If you book a late checkout don't be alarmed if you go out of your room after 11 o'clock then go back to your room and can't get back in as the room and safe both automatically lock on the day of departure at 11 but you just go and tell reception, who are very friendly, and they sort it straight away.
We were half board and the food was awful and the staff were miserable. The breakfast was not very hot and there was never enough out. We had to ask every day for juice ,eggs, bacon and sometimes beans to be topped up which they were very slow at doing , and when they did bring it out it was nearly cold. The night time food was much the same every night , except in different places and nearly cold again. We got friendly with another family who ordered the same drinks as us every night at the buffet. For 3 cokes they got charged 6 euros, we got charged between €6 and €9 and this happened every night. When we asked why they told us we had bigger drinks which was rubbish as they were the same glasses.
The pools were clean, the beds were uncomfortable but I've yet to find a comfortable sunbed. The pool bar prices went up in the second week as the hotel was not full, so we were told, which was not on.
The entertainment team worked very hard, although their singing was only enjoyed by the the children, the adults needed earplugs. Scott looked like Steve McDonald out of Coronation Street. They also had a reptile show on Mondays and a parrot show on Sundays. I think we didn't watch this as it was on early, but the kids watched the reptile show both weeks. It seemed to be the same entertainment both weeks.
We went for a walk down by the marina every morning where the kids fed the fish at the floating shop, the water is so clear. Then it was past Harley the sea lion and along the prom to feed the chipmunks (just past the Penalty Spot) the chipmunks are on the rocks .
There is also a small shopping centre if you walk along the beach. (opposite direction to marina) It has a large spar cheaper than the Nettos which are all around the resort. There is also a Burger King and a McDonalds at the shopping centre.
There are a couple of camels on the beach which costs 10euros for a ride on them. We also went to the water park which was very compact and the kids loved it.
Overall the holiday was great but cost us a fortune as we had to buy food because the kids didn't like the hotel food at all. They got fed up of eating chips all the time so we went for pizza one night which was very expensive and ate at the beer garden a few times as well as other places.

Aug 2007, Mr Ashley Langran

Well what can I say, this is one of the best holidays that I have been on in my life, I got back yesterday and already I have booked up to go there next month, the entertainment is fantastic, it is a very nice area, friendly and a lovely place.
I met lots of people there and the holiday reps and entertainers made my holiday – Scott, Jen, Abbe and Johnny ( entertainers) are the most friendly and funny people I have ever met.
This was an amazing holiday and I was never bored, daily entertainment around the pool including water polo and speed pool and darts and football.
I can’t stop thinking about this holiday and would pay all the money in the world to go back there.
A few tips and that is the fado rock restaurant as it is the best in town and Tony romas as there ribs were lovely.
Very cheap out there and a holiday that you must go on. I was in room 214 and the cleaners are fantastic.
Karaoke until 3am and was fun filled.
There was not one thing that I didn’t like on this holiday and would very highly recommended it.

Me and my girlfriend came to the...

Aug 2007, Mr WB GREEN

Me and my girlfriend came to the Broncemar Beach Hotel for our first holiday abroad together. Overall I would say this is a great hotel for families who want the kids well entertained but still a good cheap holiday for young couples with the friendly staff and helpful reps.
Staying half board we found the food was nice with a wide selection for evening meals. The accommodation was ok, had a nice layout with a small kitchen/living area and patio but don’t expect a double bed as we were stuck with 2 singles which got annoying.
Our lower apartment was open to noise at night; you could hear people walk past with their luggage and planes flying loudly overhead. No air con was a problem at times as the heat remained all through the night. We saw a few roaches but not enough to bother us.
The pool area was very nice, quite clean and not too busy if your going in September but in peak months it must have been a lot worse as a family based hotel.
The Island/resort was very nice with great weather all through the week. The trips to jandia and the water park are well recommended. Caleta has a nice beach with great little shops and bars and a clean promenade to walk along in the evenings.
All in all this was a good first holiday for us together abroad. The hotel was nice during the day but at night was a little noisy at times.
We would definitely visit Fuerteventura again but probably try the Corralejo resort further away from the airport noise and as a couple go for a hotel less geared up for kids.

Just come back from our 2 week...
7 / 10
Aug 2007, Mrs M Grinyer

Just come back from our 2 week holiday staying at the Broncemar. I have to say we did have an excellent holiday, but have given a 7 because of cockroaches in room 151 and the cleanliness around the swimming pool.
We found the apartment clean despite other reviews but the water was yellow when my children where taking a bath. We thought it was just the minerals, but by the third day it was orange and left a ring around the bath. Told the reps and reception, maintenance guy came that evening and drained the tank and within 30mins the water was clear.
Apparently they had just changed all the tanks a couple of weeks before because of this problem so don’t know why we had it. Anyway once the water was clear we started getting cockroaches.
They only came from the bathroom and we did everything possible to stop them. My husband was getting 7-8 a day and they are not small. None of our neighbours got any, but others further away from us were... Complained to the rep as we had a 7 week old baby and didn't know what they had been crawling over... Was told that, that amount of roaches wasn't allot and it was due to the heat!
Never heard that one before.....also that they where clean! They live in drains.
Anyway was given a spray which reduced them and then 2 days before we where due to leave the room was fumigated.
The swimming pool on the first week, didn't seem to be cleaned around the pool as water from days before would still be there and be brown, but by the second week cleaning and bleaching every day.
Yes the sun beds are broken but still useable, never ate in the buffet but found the Slow boat 2 very enjoyable went back a lot. Especially as they kept giving us 10% off and free drinks.
The kids club was fantastic, and the evening entertainment was a bit cheesy in some areas but very funny and hats off to Jonny, Jen, Abby, Catherine and Scott as they do work very hard and are very approachable. Mini disco went down a storm with my children.
Overall an excellent holiday I think that the owners need to look at the cockroach problem which you don’t get at every apartment abroad!!!!! Some rooms have the problems and some don’t. Also the cleanliness around the pool area.
We have decided we would not go back again but only because we don’t go to the same place more than once..... We also met someone who has been numerous times and even he said that every year is getting worse.
Everyone has their own opinion and a lot of people haven’t had the problems we did.

Just returned from a week in...
7 / 10
Jul 2007, Mr And Mrs M.

Just returned from a week in Broncemar Beach, we were in room 159 – funny thing, the room next to where the people in the report below said they had loads of cockroaches. We didn’t see one roach in the resort at all and then we only saw 2 the whole week.
Broncemar Beach is nice. The rooms are big and airy, the staff polite and speak good English. We had 2 small issues which were dealt with the same day.
The pool area is kept clean. The beds are starting to show their age, but don’t be afraid to go down early and reserve yours for the day – everyone else does. There are 3 pools and for some reason the water is cold! Once you’re in its ok – it’s just getting in!
There’s a shop on site which is a little more than the one down the road but it has the most things there.
We didn’t eat in the resort but we used the bar; we thought it was a bit pricey! But it was nice inside with a good atmosphere.
I certainly recommend the place. There are some lovely restaurants to try too! Don’t forget to visit the market which is on Sunday mornings, if you like to haggle you’ll get some great bargains!

Me and my boyfriend have just had a...

Jul 2007, Miss G Murphy

Me and my boyfriend have just had a two week holiday at the broncemar beach hotel. We had a great time. The weather was lovely and hot but very very windy especially the last two days!
The broncemar beach Hotel was great, the staff were very friendly and our apartment was very clean and spacious, we had two balconies and sun loungers on the one so we could carry on sunbathing if we wanted to as the sun was on our balcony all day.
The kitchen area was very clean and tidy, the cleaners did a great job and changed the towels three times a week and the beds twice.
We didn’t spend much time around the pool area we preferred the beach because the pools were a little too cold and there was allot of children which made it quite noisy.
They need to change the sun loungers round by the pool as they were very uncomfortable and allot of them were broke but everything else was fine.
The food was nice but the alcohol was very expensive. There is a little supermarket in the hotel but it was very expensive so it is worth a 5 minute walk to the netto just down the road!
I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The reps were very helpful, we went to the water park it was good but very small, there is also a market just outside the water park that sells everything from jewellery to hand bags so its worth having a look.
The beaches are lovely; the first beach is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel but if you turn right and keeping walking along the dirt track there is a better beach that is a bit smaller and cleaner! We went to this one everyday and there was a McDonalds not far up the road.
I would recommend this hotel and holiday to families with small children, costa caleta was very quite with lots of restaurants but not many bars so if your young and looking for a good night life this isn’t really the place to go.
We loved it here and would definitely go again.
