We have just returned from half term...

Oct 2005, Mrs A Dayson

We have just returned from half term break here at the Broncemar Beach, and had a fantastic time.
The hotel is clean and spacious with everything you need, I had read that you have to hire kettles etc but this is no longer the case. We did hire a fan though for the bedroom as there was no air cond, but this was only 12 euros for the week, so that was fine. But from the moment we got there it was all great, flight with Thomas cook was good, and only about 10 mins from the airport although there are no night flights so no noise, kids love to see the planes flying over the pool during the day though.
Entertainment was great, jimmy; Billy, Hailey and Teresa were fantastic and worked so hard. It wasn’t naff at all, they were very professional and didn’t stop working. The pool area was fantastic with 2 large pools and a kid’s pool, little bit cold but our 4 and 2 year olds thoroughly enjoyed spending most of the day in them.
We used to give children breakfast in our room and then head to buffet breakfast, which was cheap, and have a nice breakfast. Supermarket on site is good, bit pricey and there is another one - netto a five minute walk away in the Centro commerciale, which is cheaper and better. Plenty of restaurants nearby for all budgets and beach 5 mins away.
No mosquitoes at all, which is unheard of. And weather was fantastic. Late 30s all week. With a nice breeze all day, and nights were still warm, but just right.
We had a great time and would def recommend it.

This was our second stay at the Broncemar Beach and we would recommend it to anyone. The accommodation is spacious, clean and well equipped. The Thomas Cook reps were hard working and couldn’t be faulted. The hotel staff were friendly, extremely efficient and quickly dealt with any query that came their way.
The on-site supermarket is well stocked and convenient and the Pool Bar serves good food at reasonable prices. We didn’t use the Buffet so can't comment on that, but we tried a variety of local restaurants and enjoyed them all. The resort is relatively small and quiet and was chosen it for that reason, but do take the opportunity to tour the island if possible - it is a lovely place.

Aug 2005, Mr AT Allsebrook

I loved my holiday at the Broncemar beach, the people their were lovely and the entertainment was top notch! I am planning on going back in December with a few friends.
I would highly recommend this holiday destination for any couple with small children especially, the entertainment reps make the holiday very memorable for the young kids, the food was good and the pubs and clubs around the resort were good, I must say the drinks are a little pricey out there but at the end of the day you don’t go on holiday everyday!

The Broncemar Beach Aparthotel is...
9 / 10
May 2005, Miss A Edwards

The Broncemar Beach Aparthotel is excellent for families. I have just today come back from holiday with my 10-year-old son (who is not easy to please and keep happy). He really enjoyed our holiday at Broncemar beach.
The accommodation was certainly by far the best I have come across on self catering holidays in Europe. The rooms are clean and well presented. A word to the wise - take your own bath and hand towels. Everything else was great.
The buffet restaurant provides excellent value for money (9 Euros for dinner and 5 Euros for breakfast - half price for children). The choice of food including salads and fruit for us long standing dieters is very good as is the choice for children and the waitress service.
There is a well stocked supermarket on the complex so you don’t have to worry about weighing down your suitcase with loads of tinned or dried edibles.
The facilities are good and include a couple of pools, Jacuzzi’s, pool tables, air hockey tables, dart board, table tennis etc etc.
Overall, an excellent holiday was had. If you are hesitating or anxious about the complex and facilities, then don’t. It is good. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday with enough activities to keep you and the kids occupied, without being rushed of your feet or being overcrowded, then this is the place.
We will definitely return for a future holiday there.

May 2005, Miss R Murphy

Just got back from a fantastic holiday at Broncemar Beach! Would recommend to anyone who wants to relax and have fun. Great for families and couples.
Don’t pay for transfers - taxi only costs 8 euros.
Excellent accommodation. Very clean, very cool in the heat. Take your own towels. Pools are quite cool but refreshing!
Fantastic reps and entertainment...guaranteed fun for everyone. Day and evening games and shows..even bingo!
Very hot but not uncomfortable...nice breezes day and night...perfect for a tan. Don’t miss out on a walk to the marina/harbour - amazing views.
Plenty to do out and about on the island but the resort is perfect for relaxation.
Didn’t eat at hotel so can’t comment but never had a bad meal anywhere. China restaurant is fantastic food and cheap! Suzi's does great food and Sports bar great for breakfasts. (If you like that kind of thing) All nationality foods are available in the resort.
Would recommend rep trip to Caleta de fiesta for magician, rep show and four tops - excellent!
For cheap duty free find the perfumeries and supermarket near the market and Mexican restaurant.
Hoping to go back later in the year - have fallen in love with the place :-)

Came back from a fantastic holiday at...
9 / 10
Mar 2005, Mrs M Webber

Came back from a fantastic holiday at the Broncemar Beach Apartments. The weather wasn’t too great when first arrived, but it wasn’t long before the sun shone!. Having had several holidays on the Canaries at this time of year, we felt this to be the best so far.
The overall area isn't too quiet but not too rowdy either! The man-made beach isn't brilliant but there’s more than ample room for the kids to run and bathe safely (just remember your flip-flops for swimming!).
As for the Broncemar Beach, the entertainment for the kiddies were superb, the restaurant and grill excellent with a very extensive choice on both menus and with three pools, 2 Jacuzzis, a poolside bar and comfy sunbeds - we were made for the fortnight.
We had a ground floor apartment and found it to be very spacious, a kitchen which you would find hard to beat on other self-catering holidays (although there is no toaster available) and a bedroom with plenty of storage and hanging space. The towels are changed regularly but you would probably be better off drip-drying as they don’t really do much. The maids to attend 5/7 days a week but they don’t seem keen on making your bed or doing your dishes; so be warned.
When we left Broncemar they were in the middle of having a lick of paint over them - so be warned you may have a nice Spanish decorator on your terrace at 8am in the morning but he will be gone by 11.
All in all we have a fantastic time. We didn’t think we would like it but it did grow on us so much so that we have booked to return next March. We came home Wednesday!

I stayed at the Broncemar apartments...

Aug 2004, Miss J Campbell

I stayed at the Broncemar apartments in August and would like to say it was the worst holiday I have ever been on. My apartment was burgled on the 3rd day the thieves taken the safe off the wall. The hotel has not as yet repaid my stolen money which they were liable for. Customer service was ignorant and very poor from the management of the hotel. The Thomas cook entertainment team were excellent for the children. The weather was great the resort too quiet. I will certainly not be returning there for a future holiday.

Jul 2004, JoolsF

Went to Caleta in July 04. Been before in Oct 00 and Oct 01 so knew what to expect. I love it there!!
This time stayed at Broncemar Beach which is only 2 years old I think, but don’t think that its been looked after too well as I thought it was a bit 'tatty'. Nice big apartment and terrace area. I think most had 2 storeys so check that on ground level if needed. (Wheelchairs/babies etc) Disabled access was excellent (Ramps etc everywhere) Well impressed!
Food 9/10. Plenty of choice, salads and hots and nice puddings too! Good for kids also.
Cleaning 3/10. Rooms didn’t look or smell any different after the cleaner had been in.
Towels 0/10. Wish I’d taken my own. Don’t think they got washed just tumbled and re used!!
Pool area 6/10. Couldn’t get a sunbed at all around the pool. The usual towel placing by the Germans at 6 o/clock every morning and not using them AT ALL one day we were there!!
Pool tables and games 7/10. Under cover and near the pool and bars so kids played happily while we had a drink!!
Supermarket on site 9/10. Most things available.
Market on Saturday 5/10. Watches/Hair Braiders/Handbags/More watches/More Handbags....interesting but wouldn’t go again.
Broncemar is nicely situated, close to all amenities and about 10 mins through the shopping complex to the beach. I will be going back and would even stay at the Broncemar again because of its location. By the way, a taxi from the airport costs about 8 Euros and takes 10-15 mins. Well worth it!

We have stayed at the Broncemar Beach...
10 / 10
May 2004, Mrs K Jones

We have stayed at the Broncemar Beach 3 times up to now and other properties in Fuerteventura countless times over the past 10 yrs. The resort used to be an unspoilt haven, free from mass tourism and over the yrs it has steadily crept in but not in too bad a way.
There are a good variety of restaurants all within easy walking distance of Broncemar, including OFADO the Portuguese ,FADO ROCK CAFE, EL ANTONITJO the Mexican near the beach, and LA TERRAZZA the Italian at the top of the commercial centre.
The beach is an easy stroll, which at the most takes 10 mins.
We have 2 sons who are 12 and 9, and never have problems entertaining them.
The property itself is clean and well maintained, the staff are very accommodating and nothing is problem. The property has 2 fantastic swimming pools, and the breakfast buffet is value for money.
Evening entertainment is a bit tacky but that is the only bad point I could name (although is very well presented and the entertainment staff work extremely hard).
We tend to do our own thing and use accommodation as a base and if you hire a car you can head off to El Cotillo in the north for a really great unpopulated beach. Plenty of amazing history to find as well, just need a couple of days car hire and a good map!!
Overall a great place to be for a relaxing holiday in glorious weather.

Dec 2003, Mr D Gill

Although the dull weather was a disappointment, we found the resort of Caleta de Fuste the biggest let down of all. The resort was rather scruffy with only a few reasonable places to eat. The man made beach is awful with lots of cigarette butts etc. The Broncemar Beach accommodation itself was ok however it was a long way from the beach and the swimming pools were ice cold, the food which we only tried twice was poor. Couples we met during the holiday on half board confirmed this. If you go on holiday to sit in English style pubs, eating English cooked breakfasts, smoke 40 a day and drink 10 pints per night, you don't like foreigners, you wear football shirts, you and you family all have football related tattoos and you wife has about four gold hooped earrings in each ear and you like Blackpool then this is the resorts for you. Perhaps December is really an unsuitable time of year to go the Fuerteventura however my overall impression was that Caletta de Fuste is a dump. What was more upsetting was that the resorts in Jandia in the south of the island were much better. However these resorts appeared to be exclusive to the Germans...they wouldn't put up with Caletta de Fuste. Put the Brits in the Dump and give them a pub!

We did enjoy the holiday overall but...
5 / 10
Sep 2003, Mr B Cat

We did enjoy the holiday overall but would recommend that you go self catering rather than eating the "school dinner" meals served up in the buffet restaurant and be prepared to tip every time you buy something. I’m not a tight person but it gets a bit ridiculous after a while!!!
The nearby area was okay but after a week it was monotonous seeing the same handful of shops and restaurants. The beach was a bit too pebbly. We have a 15 month old son and it was sharp on his knees and feet to toddle and crawl around.
Take plenty of spend as it’s more expensive than you would imagine.

We had the best family holiday...
10 / 10
Aug 2003, Mrs K Spooner

We had the best family holiday possible here with our kids aged 7 and 3. Broncemar Beach is a stunning looking hotel made up of two storey buildings painted in different colours spread out around 2 enormous pools plus big paddling pool for toddlers. Went with Blue Sky who were superb - entertainments team worked very hard and were genuinely having fun. A special mention must to Rob who was the best rep possible - very funny and great with the kids. Caleta's beach is man made and a disappointment - we hired a car and visited some absolutely perfect white sand beaches on the island.
Caleta de Fuste is great resort for young families - quite small and pedestrianised with fab restaurants, particularly La Boguita Italian and Fado Rock steakhouse.
Broncemar Beach voted best apartments in Canaries by Thomas Cook- we completely agree - go here and you will have a fantastic holiday !
