Napa Mermaid Hotel Reviews
" This hotel is fantastic. I would... "
Submitted By: Mrs K Nash
This hotel is fantastic. I would highly recommend it to anyone. My husband and I spent a week there in a standard room but nothing about this place is standard! It is modern, chic, immaculately clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pool area is superb with plenty of sunbeds always available. The beach is crystal clear and just across the road from the hotel. The centre of the resort is a ten minute walk with lots of restaurants along the way. I would recommend the Italian restuarant "Quadro", its excellent. The rooms are fully air conditioned with the restuarant serving a huge variety of fresh food daily. The reception staff are very helpful. All in all it is an above standard hotel with fantastic services and everthing you need for a wonderful holiday.
" You may think that my rating is harsh... "

You may think that my rating is harsh if you have visited this hotel within the last year. The hotel itself is beautiful. However there is not much going on here. If you want a bit of entertainment during the day then this is not for you. I think that the aim of the management is to make it adults only eventually.
The reason for my low rating is because the all inclusive was not worth the money at all. We paid an extra £700.00 for the two of us for the all inclusive part of the hotel.
Drinks started at 11.00am until 11.00 pm.... this is very strict as well. You can only order one drink at a time and the bar staff are so slow with the drinks that you could not get your monies worth. Now if you were a big drinker you could get your monies worth by drinking for the 12 hours.
You cannot eat when you want..... 7.30 - 10.00am breakfast. 12.30 - 2.30 lunch (also all inclusive do not get as good a menu as someone say on full board or paying. The excuse for this was that we were getting our meals for free!!!!!). Dinner 7.30 - 10.00pm, if you did not want to eat at these times you were unable to get snacks.
DO NOT GO ALL INCLUSIVE!!!!!

" I've recently returned from the Napa... "

I've recently returned from the Napa Mermaid Apartments in Ayia Napa & it was a truly fantastic holiday! The accommodation & facilities have just gone through a refurbishment & First Choice categorise it as being 'Chic & Unique' which it most definitely is!
The soft furnishings are very plush & modern. We were lucky enough to stay in one of the bungalows which offers a terraced area which is great to enjoy a bevy or 2! The room itself was very spacious and again decorated very tastefully.
The staff at the hotel were very accommodating & couldn't do enough for us during our stay.
The lunch time menu in particular was superb, offering plenty of variety. A refreshing changing from just the normal 'burger & chips' option that is often served abroad. Although we stayed on a bed & breakfast arrangement, there is the option to stay half board or all inclusive too.
After approximately 15 minutes walk you're in the heart of Ayia Napa & the Square providing all the nightlife. There are some great bars. We enjoyed the Jammin bar in particular & Pirates which served good, but very lethal Long Island Iced Teas!
We also hired a car which I would definitely recommend. This enabled us to drive into Protaras (approx 20 mins drive) & sample other beaches. It's also a nice drive if you go on the coastal roads, as there's picnic areas etc to stop off at.
It was my first time in Cyprus and I look forward to returning!

Just come back from a fantastic holiday, the Napa Mermaid hotel is fantastic!! You cannot fault this hotel, the staff cant do enough for you, food is excellent buffet style & everybody is so friendly. Grecian Bay beach is across the road from the hotel and Nissi Beach is a 10 mins cab journey.
Grecian bay beach is lovely but would recommend to go and see Nissi Beach, the water is crystal clear and you can walk for miles and water is only up to your knee’s!. Ayia Napa bars and shops are a 10 minute walk away, although the walk is lined with many restaurants and tavernas anyway. Was very surprised how nice the town was did not know what to expect as have heard alot about 'Ayia Napa' but was pleasantly surprised.
The square where all the bars and clubs are is up a hill and to be honest wouldn’t know it was there, it is in an isolated area by the Monastery so it's there if you want it if you don’t there is so many pubs with live entertainment and quieter bars surrounding. The restaurants are excellent wide selection to choose from did not have one bad meal.
Would recommend this holiday to all age groups there is something for everyone, we met so many nice people at the hotel all of which are repeat guests and this was there 15th Year at the Napa Mermaid one couple where 82yrs old! There is live entertainment every night for those who just want to stay local with a really nice bar & seating area outside. There is a daytime activity programme as well from killer darts to water polo!
Those of you who like your papers there is a shop pool side with English papers to catch up on what’s going on at home!
Would definitely recommend this hotel excellent friendly staff who are so nice and friendly, cleanliness you cannot fault maid service everyday, will be booking to go back next September to meet up with friends we met this year, can totally understand why people keep going back.

The position of the hotel is fantastic, a short walk into town and across the road from the beach - but not so close that all the noise at night keeps you awake. We only had one evening meal, there's a different theme every evening which included a BBQ, Italian and Mexican night. If you don't fancy that go bed & breakfast as there is a lovely restaurant opposite and plenty in the town.
The bar at night has some entertainment on, normally english singers, but not in an obtrusive way. Good range of cocktails and drinks on offer.
Overall I had a fantastic week, would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anybody travelling to and staying in the Ayia Napa area and would not even consider staying at any other hotel if returned to the area again in the future.
