The Best Holiday i have ever had......
from ashley_cunningham
Before i tell you all about my holiday at the Grecian Sands Hotel I would also like to say i chose the hotel through Trip Advisor...... The Holiday was amazing! It was very hot- over 40 when we were there. Me and my Partner are 19 and 20 and wanted a quite holiday but somewhere we could do things at night. This was the perfect location! Grecian sands is only a 15 minute walk from nightlife and shopping but at the same time isolated so you can enjoy a relaxing holiday. The First impressions on the hotel was 'WOW'. It's very well presented and the rooms are very modern and soooo clean-We had a beautiful view of the front garden of the hotel. You get the use of all the facilities(pools, gyms, bars, pool room) and fresh beach towels every day. Rooms are well equiped and very big, Its Lovely. We were Half Board and Oh My God was the Food out of this world!!!!! It was Devine, every night was different and if you wanted you could have 5 courses!!! 2 nights we had bbq's, which was fantasitc too. The food was so fresh and was served to your table as well as a buffet style too. Breakfast- so much to choose from-everything you could imagine. The Pool was very big and clean, the private beach was lovely too, we always got sunbeds. It was never crowed and we trusted the people around us as they were mostly middle aged. On the private beach we got a lovely breeze up there and it was so peacefull. There are water sports on the beach- isuggest you try the PARAFLYING and the JETSKING. Snorkling was amazing when you go out to sea near the rocks, we saw some brillant coloured fish! and the Main beach was white sands and clear sea. Overall i couldnt say one bad thing about this place! The people were so helpful and nice to us and we will 100% be going back.
The best place to get married
from teresadavis03
We got married at the Grecian Sands on the 15th Oct 2007, i just had to put a review on as it was a fantastic place to get married. The whole stay at the hotel was great, the hotel was very clean and staff were very friendly. We had arrived in cyprus very stressed and unaware of what was going to happen, we were quickly put at ease by Susanne ( the hotels wedding co-ordinator). Susanne made the day, we didnt have any witnesses or guest as such it was just my husband and 3 children and was honoured to have Susanne as our witness. The whole day was fantasic, we had a fantastic meal and great service by everyone at the hotel. The Grecian Sands makes your "Special Day" perfect, every wedding has the same special treatment you feel like you are famous and i've got to say this hotel has the best team for weddings. Angeline (hair) & Maria (make up) go out of there way to make you look great. I was amazed at the transformation, my 6yr old daughter looked and felt like a princess, if i didnt have my make up done i would of cried. This hotel is a must for anyone planning a wedding or just a great holiday. A month on we are still buzzing from the whole experience. A big thanks to everyone Teresa & Tristan Edwards

I would like to thank you both for such a positive review-it was a pleasure to be a witness to your wedding and to help make your day very special. I look forward to seeing you back at the hotel for your first wedding anniversary in 2008. Susanne x
Relaxing break for Oct Half Term
from kazndel
We have just got back from spending half term here with our daughters (12 & 6) and my parents. We have stayed at the Sands sister hotel, the Grecian Sands, several times so knew roughly what to expect when we arrived. The hotel has had an extension containing new rooms which only opened this season and we were lucky to be placed in there. The bathrooms were nice which we were pleased with as we always thought that the bathrooms down the road at the Bay needed updating and according to other reviews this is still the case with the bathrooms here in the original part of the hotel. The bed was nice and big but the furniture looked like it was a bit older than the room! We had only booked an inland view which I regretted as the balcony is quite narrow and we like to sit out there in the evening when the kids are in bed. We booked two standard rooms as our 12 year old shared with my parents but the family in the room opposite us had booked the sea view rooms and their room was much bigger with a lovely big balcony and bigger bathroom with twin sinks and separate bath and shower. I think the hotel call these rooms suites and they are on the first floor in the new part. For the first few days we were really disappointed with the state of the staircase (smelly with old paint and exposed pipe work etc) but then we realised that we were using the service/staff staircase and that there is a lovely marble staircase next to the lift! The breakfast if fine although slighlty less choice than the Grecian Bay but the scrambled egg is better! You`ve got bacon, sausage, eggs, beans, hash browns, tomatoes, different breads and cereals, yoghurts and fruit and pastries, so most things to cater for everybody. We were bed & breakfast but did have lunch at the pool bar every afternoon (pitta with haloumi and salad, cheese toasties, salads, soups, chicken wings and loads more). My partner and I didnt eat an evening meal at the hotel but my parents took the kids to the Greek night one evening and they said it was lovely. I think that one of the reasons we enjoyed this holiday so much was because it was so quiet (see pics). We sat in the same place every day (by the jacuzzi) and never had a problem getting our beds. We generally went down about 9ish. There was not more than about 10 people around the pool, more people seemed to occupy the sandy area. The view is incredible and you can see why people want to have their wedding ceremony there. We took a walk along the beach to the Grecian Bay and had a look in there as they have done some refurbishment to the pool bar area, which looks lovely however after being by the pool up at the Sands, which is quite elevated, I did feel quite claustrophobic down at the Bay and you cant see the sea from the pool at the Bay whereas you can from the pool up the the Sands. The one good thing about the Bay though, that I dont know why the Sands doesn`t introduce, is that you can reserve your sunbeds for the duration of your holiday. A very simple idea but it works really well and I dont know why other hotels dont introduce it? There are some great little restaurants within walking distance of the Sands. Try 'Sage' which is down past the Grecian Bay, all the way to the cross roads, straight over and just on the left hand side. A bit more expensive but very nice. Another nice little place is Petinos which is just round on the left of the cross roads. Lastly, try the one up the hill, if you turn right out of the hotel. A couple of minutes walk and it is facing you, a cream painted typical looking taverna, cant remember the name though! So overall, a lovely break and we will book again for next year!
Wonderful location

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Ayia Napa, Cyprus. After reading poor reviews of other hotels in the area we finally choose the Grecian Sands and we were so pleased with our choice. The hotel is a short walk, bus or taxi away from Ayia Napa centre and only a few steps away from a Blue Flag beach (golden sand) offering water sports, toilets and cafe along with a lovely clean beach and sea. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and offered good service, it was extremely clean although alittle tired in places, (especially the bathrooms). The bedrooms had: balconi, mini bar, safe, tv, hair dryer, plenty of coat handers plugs and mirrors but most importantly tea/coffee making facilities along with daily supplies! We did ask to change bedrooms because of noise and the staff were very co-operative and allowed us to choose from a couple of other available rooms. We were bed and breakfast so cannot comment of the meals other than the breakfast, the choice and quality was very good, offering most for all tastes. We would love to return to the Grecian Sands Hotel. Randa & Andy, Great Yarmouth
Excellent Hotel
from Wychdene
We have just returned from a week at the Grecian Sands - our first holiday in Cyprus. This is a non-wedding review!! Don't be put off by the thought that it might be all weddings - it is not and they do not get in the way of the other guests' enjoyment. The weather in October is superb and the hotel is equally good. We found the pool area and the upper beach area excellent. The hotel seems to foster an early beach towel culture. If you want a good position then it would seem you need to be up and out with your towel by 6.30 - 7.00am - slightly annoying if you are not into that way of life! However the positions left when we went down for breakfast were perfectly acceptable. There is a stairway down to the public beach from the hotel grounds. This might seem a problem but it in fact means that there is a good view over the sea without being crushed together on the busy beach. The sea is warm, sandy bottom free of pebbles, etc with enough rocks around to ensure some fish to see. The pool is large and well-designed with a little jacuzzi area in one corner. We used both the pool and the sea regularly The food at the hotel is very good and is reasonably priced. We had breakfast and lunch every day at the hotel and dinner twice - no complaints at all, except one niggle (don't expect proper mozarella cheese when ordering from the a la carte, Kraft cheese slice more like!). The staff are without exception happy and we had nothing but praise for all the service we received. The restaurants and shops of Ayia Napa are only a 10-15 minute walk away - sufficiently near to use, sufficiently far away to keep the brasher side of Ayia Napa out of site and earshot. The rooms are of a good standard, though if you were being really picky you could say they are getting near to needing refurbishment. We had a seaview room with a large patio balcony overlooking the pool and sea. It was well-equipped and gave us all we wanted such as a kettle for tea and coffee, mini-bar, good bathroom and it was kept immaculately clean - not an easy task considering all the sand we would bring back with us each day! All in all an excellent hotel in a great location. We will definitely consider returning. It is only the nature of Ayia Napa itself (very Blackpool) which might make us look elsewhere in Cyprus.
Everything we hoped for and more!

We got married at the Grecian Sands 5th Oct 2007 so as you can see I've put this review on as soon as I returned home! Perfect, amazing, fantastic, it really was everything me and my partner had ever wished for. We only stayed the week but everything was planned to perfection. I had organised most of it myself before arriving in Cyprus but the special touches Susanne (Wedding Organiser for the hotel) did made the day. They do a lot of weddings at the hotel but we were lucky enough to be the only ones that day and you were made to feel special by everyone. Hair and make-up done at the hotel is a must, Angeline and Maria are the best and even I was blown away! The hotel itself is beautiful, staff incredibly friendly and will do everything in their power to help. The hotel was fully booked so they couldn't up-grade at first but within two days we were moved to amazing room and the bathroom was to die for, perfect for getting ready on my wedding morning. The facilities at the hotel were great and the pool was clean and very relaxing. We were only there the week but nothing felt rushed and were relaxed leading up to the big day. I had pre-booked the Horse & Carriage to take us around Ayia Napa after the ceremony to have more photos etc... this was just another perfect moment to add to a perfect day. We had 25 guests and everyone were delighted with the ceremony (on the seaview deck) @ 11am) and the meal etc after. We also attended the Cypriot night so we had a complete day of celebrations. Still can't get over how friendly and lovely everyone has been including locals and holiday makers, the whole week will be something I will never forget. Big thanks to everyone. Tammy & Richard
Our Wedding at the Grecin Sands
from Lornabelle
We have just returned from 10 days at the Grecian Sands Hotel where we got married on September 26th. The weather was beautiful and the hotel could not be faulted. We arrived in our room ( 101 ) to find fresh fruit and a bottle of wine. The view was spectacular from our balcony- you could see for miles across the glorious ocean. The room was extremely spacious and cleaned thoroughly everyday- with personal air conditioning, mini bar and flat screen TV. All in all, the hotel was great- clean and friendly with good facilities. On to the wedding- We met with Suzanne on our second day at the hotel and outlined exactly what we wanted. Nothing was too much effort and she listened to our requirements and gave us ideas of what we should do. All the formalities were handled by our Cyplon wedding rep, and appointments were booked at the town hall for us so that we could complete all the necessary paperwork. On the day of the wedding, the weather was glorious and the scene was beautiful. Everything went without a hitch due to the hard work of Suzanne our wedding coordinator and also the professionalism of the hotel staff. We had a meal in the mediterranean suite, followed by a disco in the poseidon suite. All our guests left pie eyed, well oiled and extremely content- as did the bride and groom. In conclusion, we would strongly recommend anyone thinking of getting married at the Grecian Sands to go for it- we certainly have no regrets, rest assured Suzanne will accommodate your every needs.
Perfect Wedding
from Jazzz295
Me and my wife got married at the Grecian Sands Hotel on the 6th September, the hotel was lovely with just a short stroll down the steps to the beach and about a 10 min walk to ayia napa centre it was perfect. The hotel was clean and modern and the staff were friendly, breakfast had quite a bit of choice, and the food in the restaurant was beautifull. We met our thomas cook wedding organiser the second day as we were only there for 1 week, this was Jo and she was great, she went though all the wedding details and arranged a photographer and arranged the meeting at the town hall to pay for the wedding licence. Then we met Suzanne the hotels guest relations/ wedding organiser she was great too and she was also english. She sorted out where we wanted to get married and where to have the reception, she knows her stuff. We had the wedding outside at 4pm on the seadeck, then a champayne toast in the bar then had a 3 course meal outside under the pavilion overlooking the sea, it was perfect. My wife had her hair and make-up done in the hotels hair and beauty salon and she said they were wonderfull. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone, it was perfect.
A dream come true!!
from weddingsep07
We have just returned from the most magical two weeks of our lives. We were married Sep 07 firstly at the Catholic Church in Ayia Napa followed by a civil ceremony on the Seaview Deck at the Grecian Sands. We stayed for two weeks at the Grecian Sands and I can honestly say everything was just perfect. Special thanks goes to George Hadjikyriacou, Assistant Manager. We arranged the wedding ourselves so communication direct with the hotel was paramount. Thank you George it was very much appreciated. Also huge thanks to Suzanne who did her best to ensure our day was as special as it was and to Angelina the hairdresser for making me feel like a princess! I must also mention our photographer Danijela who took the most amazing photographs ever, especially the beach shots - if you’re looking for something a bit different: danijela@studioblacknwhite.com. We had 35 guests at our evening BBQ wedding reception which was held outside where we joined the other hotel guests for the Cyprus evening. We were overwhelmed at how beautiful our table looked and I think just about everyone commented on how delicious the food was. Our room was in the new section of the hotel with a fantastic sea view – it was stunning! Five Star complimentary champagne breakfast and candlelit dinner to boot!! A big THANK YOU to all the staff – the Grecian Sands is lucky to have you! Louise & Andy (Sep 07)
disappointed!!!! family room with sea view worth the upgrade, view amazing and room very modern and large.great bathroom and large balcony. BUT our room smelt overwhelmingly of stale cigarettes. unfortunalty this did not improve over the week even after we complained.... more
