I booked this a few months before we went as my best friend was geting married at the hotel and I was her bridesmaid. I think I paid around £850 for 2 weeks in June for bed and breakfast. With it being a 4 star and never being to Ayia Napa before, I did't know what to expect.
The hotel itself was in a great location.... on the very outskirts of Ayia Napa but only a 5 minute walk to pubs and restaurants and only 10 minutes to the nightlife so it was very quiet. The hotel was quite nice but the rooms were a little small and dated, although very clean. The food in Cyprus was gorgeous everywhere we went and the nightlife was good but a little expensive for drinks.
My friend got married at the hotel after a week and it was lovely although there were quite a lot of weddings going on there. The views were fantastic over the beach and sea while they got married and the photos were lovely. They didn't have to arrange much as the wedding co-ordinator done everything for them.
Overall, hotel ok, location excellent and food fantastic!

We got married and stayed at the Grecian Sands Hotel in August 06 and have just returned from our second visit which was our first anniversary. On both visits we were extremely pleased with the hotel itself, facilities, food and the excellent service given by all the team.
August 06 – Upon arrival we were greeted and informed of who we were to see and when, regarding making preparations. We were shown to our room which was a side sea view which I would have been happy with but then we got upgraded as promised, if available to a full sea view room – wow! The view was breathtaking. The rooms were very modern, clean and spacious. We met with Amy our Thomas Cook Wedding Planner who was first class. Nothing was too much for her and she was always available and very approachable. Met with Avraam the hotel manager who was fantastic to discuss venues for the wedding and reception. Me and my now husband are very picky and pay a lot of attention to detail with things and this being our wedding wanted the best – Avraam came up trumps making sure we had everything that we wanted and that we had a perfect wedding – it was!
We had 45 guests for the wedding who were staying at other hotels and the staff at Grecian treated them as if they were their own guests. We could not have wished for anything more on the day and this was all captured on dvd by Gill and Steve who Amy recommended and she was right the special effects were fab! Gill and Steve were a lovely couple, down to earth and friendly. After getting married on the grounds overlooking the sea we cut the cake in the bar area and went on a horse and carriage ride. We thought the horse and carriage was a bit pricey as only on it for a short time but it was probably the best part of the day as it was the only real time that we got to spend on our own and parading through Ayia Napa we felt like royalty as everyone waved and clapped as you passed. We had our sit down meal in the Posiden which then turned into our disco after the speeches. The party was in full swing until the last guests had gone (which were me and my husband as we didn’t want the day to end).
August 07 – Arrived to a very warm welcome as the staff remembered us from last year. Avraam heard that we had arrived and sent up a bottle of champagne to our room which was a great start to our holiday. On our anniversary we asked for something special and again the staff (incl Kyriacos and Andreas) provided A1 service exceeding our expectations, it was sooooo romantic. This was going to be our last visit for a while as we like to visit other countries but since returning last week have decided to go back again next year for our second anniversary as we know that the hotel has everything that you need for a great holiday – fantastic facilities and décor (very modern), great location right by the beach (far enough away from the square but only a 20 minute walk for your party nights), great food and most importantly friendly, helpful staff.
Overall if you are getting married or even just holidaying in Cyprus and want 5 star service for a 4 star price then I highly recommend the Grecian Sands Hotel!!!

Not long home from a 1 week stay, fabulous to say the least!
We went over to join friends at their wedding, which was absolutely beautiful. The hotel staff can't do enough for you. Our room unfortunately didn't have a pool view but we did have the frog pond to keep us amused, although listening to 2 mating frogs for the whole week gets a bit annoying!!
Our room was clean and had just been decorated. The food both at Breakfast and at the pool bar was lovely and there was more than enough to choose from. Hotel is about 10/15 minutes walk to 'the square' with loads of nice restaurants and bars along the way. We'll definitely go back.

Hotel was in a good location with excellent views and a sitting right next to a lovely sandy beach.
Pool was always clean but there were never enough sun beds and we stayed in early July!
Good selection of for breakfast. We had three rooms between our family, all were shabby and definitely not the cleanest! Corridors were very shabby!
I would definitely not rate this as a 4*hotel! Hotel staff were friendly.

Well... our holiday had a very bad start as we had a 39 hour delay! So, as you can imagine, we were all very upset and we no longer feeling as if we would enjoy our stay in Ayia Napa. However, this all changed when we arrived at the Grecian Sands Hotel.
We were the last people to arrive and therefore saw all of the previous drop-offs and the Grecian Sands was by far the best. It has a perfect location as it is not in the middle of everything but in short walking distance. The rooms are spacious and the pool is massive!
I recommend eating at Blueberries restaurant as the staff are very friendly and the food is delicious! And you must go to bedrock! lol
We hope to return next summer.

The hotel was amazing with a beach a few steps away, rooms were very clean and modern, only complaint is they were quite plain and small. The pool was lovely with the snack bar right next door for easy access. The gardens surrounding the hotel were beautiful and created a delightful ambience, there was a lovely pond with water trickling through the rocks.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to help you enjoy your stay. Great location as it was not in the middle where all the action happens. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and always fresh and you could request eggs to be made from scratch.
Lovely hotel and I will definitely be going again.

I stayed at the Grecian sands hotel in July 2004.
It is set in beautiful surroundings, an excellently maintained garden and the crystal clear sea as a backdrop. This hotel is particularly suited to couples as it is quiet and relaxing.
The pool area is large and has plentiful sun loungers.
The bedrooms are equally as nice and fresh towels are provided daily. The rooms are cleaned to an overall high standard. The safes are provided free of charge, which in my experience is unusual! All rooms are air conditioned.
The staff are friendly and polite.
The Grecian Sands Hotel is located away from the hustle and bustle of Ayia Napa nightlife but it is within walking distance. There are plenty of lovely restaurants near the hotel. This includes Boscos a quaint Italian restaurant that I would recommend.
Overall I cannot fault this hotel, we had an excellent stay and would recommend it to anyone.

disappointed!!!!
family room with sea view worth the upgrade, view amazing and room very modern and large.great bathroom and large balcony. BUT our room smelt overwhelmingly of stale cigarettes. unfortunalty this did not improve over the week even after we complained. spoilt what would have been a very nice room!
communal areas are very dated and in need of refurbishment.
breakfast average.
drinks pricey (as a alot of hotels)
staff we didnt find were over friendly-disappointing again.
beach to hotel is quite stoney and you can only reach the see by steep steps down to public beach. public beach however, very very nice. beautiful blue crystal clear sea!
family of ours stayed across the road at the Napa Mermaid- fantanstic hotel far more the 4 star that we expected but didnt get at the Grecian Sands!
