We have been visiting this hotel twice a year for over 20 years you might ask why? the reason is we love it, it’s not noisy and loud it’s on a beautiful beach which is kept very clean with sun beds either round the pool or on the private beach looking out at sea, the... more

This is the fourth year we have been to Grecian Bay Hotel. Everything about this hotel is first class. The rooms are lovely, the maids come every day and clean them, towels are changed daily. Your sun bed is reserved for you for the duration of your stay either on their... more

The location and setting of the hotel is excellent, that's about it! The staff at the hotel are quite ignorant and unhelpful. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told to go to the beach hut and book our sunbeds either around the pool or on the beach for the duration of... more

Fantastic Holiday Lovely Hotel
After reading the Travel watchdog about The Grecian Bay Hotel I was a little concerned and wary of travelling to the hotel. We had been invitied to our best friends wedding and I did want nothing to spoil the occasion. But i was not disappointed. I travelled to GBH with my husband and four children aged from six to ten years. We arrived at the hotel in the early hours of the morning. we were welcomed by very friendly porters who loaded all our luggage onto cages and we checked into the very freindly reception. once checked In we were taken to our rooms and shown how every thing worked (blinds, lighting, air conditioning etc). We also had a lite meal waiting in our rooms with fresh fruit and cold water. This was welcomed after the long journey. We meet the rest our party in the breakfast resturant and were pleasantly suprised by the wide choice availiablefor breakfast (options ranged frm cold meats, fresh fruit, cooked english breakfast and lots ,lots more). I particularly like the idea of booking your sunbeds by the pool and the beach for the whole duration of our stay as there was twelve of us in total it mean't we could all sit together every day. The pool area was very clean and tidy at all times and the pool porter was always at hand to put up our umbrella's. The hotel rooms were very, very clean and tidy and we had clean sheets twice during our stay. the hotel also provided complimentry slippers and bath robes, which were beautiful and clean. We had booked our holiday on half board basis and was not disappointed the service in the main resturant was excellent and we had a four course meal every evening ,and they also provided an excellent childrens menu, however I did think the drinks were slightly expensive. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and I will certainly reccomend this hotel and our friends wedding was beautiful too.
Fab Holiday !!
I stayed at Grecian Bay Hotel From May 10th- 21st (2006) with my fiance and 2yr old Daughter... we were joined 4 days later by my Mother, two sisters and 7mth old Nephew) For families who like to venture outside the hotel this is def the best time of year to travel... the town of Aiya Napa had just started to get going, but was not too busy or noisy for the children. The weather was not at all what i expected for May .... It was super averaging aprox 28-30deg every day... sometimes too much to bare!! We stayed B&B so only dined in the hotel for breakfast, of an eveing it was nice to leave and explore a different restaurant each night, some excellent reastaurants to try... too many to name but one you mustn't miss is Sage.. this is listed in the AA Food Guide to Cyprus and is SUPERB, we dined here 3 times during our 11 night stay. (We were assured by others that the food in the Hotel was of an excellent standard). Pool area was extremley tidy and clean... bit quiet at some points but nice non the less. On arrival you are allocated towels and even get to pre book your sunbeds by the pool...(so now dashing at 6am to get your towel down before the Germans) ha ha The hotel also has a private beach (not really private just a section of the Aiya Napa beach thats cornered off) you can also alllocate sunbeds here throughout your stay.. personally i'd reccomend the pool!!! One last thing i must mention is the pool snack bar... Where to start... superb service (they even come to your sunbeds so if your really lazy you don't have to get up AT ALL) lovely cocktails and superb kebabs at lunch... excellent but quite big.. if your not a big eater i'd share this one. Overall SUPER SUPER FAB HOLIDAY... We are def travelling back next May!! One slightly negative point (which actually has nothing to do with the hotel) is Larnaca Airport.. on departure if you haven't got an early morning flight be prepared for a wait and possible delay. We arrived to World War 3... it was chaos ques everywhere and no idea on where we were supposed to be waiting.... after a 45minish (short wait compared to some as we were brought to the front as we had an infant and i was pregnant) we finally got through to the departure lounge where we were delayed for an hour due to the rubbish organisation at the aiport during check in. (Just thought i'd point it out.)
I enjoyed every minutes of it...
First of all, I have to mention that I stayed at the Grecian Bay Hotel (GBH) twice: the first time in 1980 and the the second time in 1985 with my wife and two children. From what I remember, the GBH was the hotel to stay at during these years. The service was excellent and the activities were numerous. The proximity of Aya Napa village was a plus so you could either walk by the road or by the beach right trhough the village and visit the numerous shops or simply sit in one of the several outside bars for a drink. During these years the highway running across the island was not built yet. So you had to travel thoughout the sinuous villages roads to get to point A to point B. During these years, the GBH was the last hotel built in this part of the island and the road was not going anywhere else. Me and my family have only great souvenirs of our stays on the Cyprus Island and if one of these days we decide to return we will definitely stay at the Grecian Bay Hotel.
Pretty good hotel - would recommend and return
I stayed at the Grecian Bay from the 7th to the 14th - weatehr was absolutely fantastic 28C all week and clear blue skys. Location of this hotel is peerfect - far enough out of the centre but within 10 minutes walking distance). Bad things - breakfast is pretty awful, older rooms in the West wing, evening entertainment Good things - swimming pool, ability to reserve sunbed for the week, evening poolside meals (tho expensive), location - directly on the beach with private area for hotel guests. I would suggest asking for a room which is in the main part of the hotel - these rooms have been refurbed and are much nicer with electric blinds and better furnishings. Also the noise from a bar/club is quite noticable in teh West Wing. All in all i had an enjoyable stay and the quality of the facilities was good. Also, beach and sea was clean and clear. Would recommend staying B&B only.
loved the gecian bay
We went to the grecian bay for our honeymoon we recieved a free bottle of sparkling wine but was a little dissapointed we didnt get a room upgrade! however i would pay for a sea or pool view on returning as the emptying of the bottle banks at 5am became a bit annoying by the end of our 2week stay! the food was excellent especially the cyprus night! tip go for the 6 minute eggs for breakfast as the 3minute were to runny! greek salad is called village salad in cyprus! there are plenty restaurants and bars near by the main square is only 10 minutes walk for those who like clubbing if not there are still loads of nice bars, the bar on the beach near sister hotel grecian sands was handy for a nice cool down beer while sunbathing and was cheaper than the hotel! I would definatley return to this hotel very clean, very helpful staff 10 out of 10 !!!!!!!!
The best holiday ever
I stayed in the Grecian Bay hotel in Aug 2000, it was one of the best summer holidays ever. It was def a 5 star hotel, the nightlife was fantastic, the theme nights and dancing were great, there was always something entertaining at night. I have really good memories of my holiday I spend in the Grecian Bay, and when I left the Grecian Bay, I told myself that I will def return there again in the future, and this summer I am going back to the Grecian Bay, to bring back all the good memories . I def enjoyed my stay and met loads of new friends from all over the world. The staff were very friendly . Def recommend this hotel and def Ayia Napa to anyone who hasnt been, its a once in a lifetime to experience this dream holiday. Couldn't be any better.
Great hotel
We have just returned from 1 week at the Grecian Bay Hotel in Aya Napa. The location of the hotel is superb - lovely pool area and fantastic clean beach really close to the hotel. The staff were very friendly and the facilities very good - fitness centre, beauty treatments etc. The food in the hotel was excellent but there were many other restaurants and bars nearby. It was a pleasant 10 minute stroll into Aya Napa and possible to access the town via the beach or along the road. Many of the guests at the hotel were there for the 7th or 8th time. The other good feature is that sun-beds on the beach or by the pool can be reserved so there is no panic to beat the German guests to the sunbeds!
Not a five star hotel
We stayed at the Grecian Bay hotel for a week in July this year, we went there to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. The hotel was nice but we would not rate the hotel a 5 star, it seemed more like a 3/4 star. The room was cleaned everyday, the staff seems very courteous and friendly, but we felt the hotel perhaps needed a little bit of TLC, paintwork inside seemed scruffy and the brass handles were dull and not shiny as you would expect a five star to appear. The grill bar was limited for choice, although there was a fish hut which served salads and fresh fish for lunch. The breakfast buffet was good, plenty of choice. The sunloungers around the pool were comfortable and there were plenty of beach loungers. The drinks are quite expensive, and eating in the restaurant was approx £30 each excluding wine. There were theme nights every night around the pool area, the swimming pools were very inviting as the temperatures were mainly around the 41oC!!! The hotel was nice, but we were a little dissappointed on the decoration inside and out, and the bathrooms need modernising that is why we felt the hotel didn't seem a 5 star general it was a nice break away in the sun and my husband enjoyed his 40th birthday!!
An Excellent Hotel in the sun !
My Wife and I haven been to Grecian Bay Hotel many times I thought its time to let every body else know about it. Reception – Is fairly airy with marble flooring and a large lounge area. There are several ‘in-house’ shops selling, newspapers, magazines and suntan cream etc.. Also the Bank of Cyprus is based in the hotel. Rooms – Are very clean and tidy with mahogany wood furniture, has telephone, TV, mini-bar and the all important air conditioning. Linen is change daily with an evening turndown service each night. A sea view or side sea view is worth having as the back of the hotel isn’t that inspiring! Restaurants- All food is of an excellent standard along with the service provided. Most guest are on bed & breakfast, which I must point out the breakfast is particularly good with a wide variety of food including champagne ! This restaurant also operates at lunch times, which again the food is of a good standard along with the service. The Hotel has three other restaurants, one for half board guest, and two a la carte restaurants I have only eaten once in the a la carte to which I thought it was a bit expensive about £30 per head plus drinks, though the service and food quality was excellent. All drinks served at Grecian Bay are all international brands and the cost is fairly on-par to what you would pay in the UK. Swimming Pool and Beach – For me this where Grecian Bay Hotel score really well, when you arrive, the pool staff ask you where would you like to sunbathe for the duration of your holiday? They will then RESERVE for you sunbed, parasol and table (beach towels provided) for the duration of your holiday. Which I think is a neat idea and nobody rushes in the morning fighting for a sunbed position around the pool or the hotels own private beach. Service around the pool and beach is excellent as staff will fetch you food and drinks all day! Entertainment – Is pretty limited, the hotel offers a la carte theme nights 2 or 3 time a week around the pool which is pretty and romantic. Most nights the hotel bar offers simple and elegant entertainment of singing or somebody playing the piano. Grecian Bay is an excellent hotel with many repeat guests all over Europe, manly couples, not many children or groups of single sex folk. I do think it is one of the best hotels on the island for the price of the holiday. We’ve been many times and will be going back I would thoroughly recommend Grecian Bay for a great relaxing holiday in the sun.
happy returns
Can't quite beleive no one has ever posted a review for this fine hotel. Have just returned home to uk. following a lovely relaxing week at this hotel. Having stayed here some 15 years ago, we always promised we would return for another visit one day. Situated right alongside a super sandy beach with crystal clear sea, the hotel is in a superb location. Since our last visit the swimming pool has been modernised and much improved . We opted for a side sea view room which it turned out had been refurbished in April of this year. The room was excellent, complete with electric window blinds, fluffy bathrobes and slippers. The breakfast buffet was extensive and of a high quality, and to a person all the staff we came into contact with were very friendly and helpful. Must definately return again, will not leave it 15 years again.
