Amazing hospitality from start of booking right through to end of trip. Lovely email exchanges in the run up to finalising booking details with plenty of tips and advice - nothing was a problem.
From the minute we arrived we got friendly, informative English speaking drivers in good clean, safe transport. We spent a week on the stunning Backwaters before heading off to Bangaram Island.
The 14 seater propeller jet from Kerala from the Lakshadweep Islands was an experience in itself. Bangaram Island was a total paradise set on its own lagoon. Clear sparkling turquoise waters full of turtles fringed with pure white sand and gently swaying coconut palms.
Totally uninhabited apart from local coconut harvesters from nearby island and the staff of the resort who we got to know on first name terms from day one. Hospitality was amazing we had a whole entourage looking after us which at the time totalled 6 guests. We dined on the most amazing food I have ever tasted with so much choice of freshly caught BBQ fish, seafood and mouth watering traditional Keralan dishes.
Accommodation was lovely - authentic and rustic with palm thatched roofs, clean comfortable double beds, volcanic water shower (good for skin) with secluded beachfronts and close sea views - every morning i rose to see the sun rise from our veranda. Each cottage was generously spaced apart giving occupants total privacy. Cool beers were stocked in rooms mini bar daily with lovely little touches like small pots of ayevedic creams and soaps.
The island had a cool little open air cocktail bar for sipping Bangaram Binges at night before dining under the stars with full waiter service - you literally couldn't lift a finger - very spoilt! Lots of activities available daily from kayaking to island hopping and turtle watching.
Ayevedic treatments available daily for real pampering and boosting. Being totally cut off from the rest of world with no links to newspapers and TV not even music, Bangaram is the ideal get away from it all - totally unspoilt, uncommercial with a real Robinson Crusoe feel - you really do appreciate the sound of the sea and all that nature has to offer without everyday distractions.
During November phosphorous washes up on the sand and when walking through it you can make fairy feet. Totally recommend to ANYONE.
