" We stayed here for 2 weeks and cannot... "

We stayed here for 2 weeks and cannot fault the accommodation , food, or service. The buffet breakfast was ample and the evening meal was beautifully presented with an excellent choice .

We were always given the option of taking our meal on the open air terrace and were never charged extra for the privilege although the hotel literature did indicate this was not free. We paid extra for a room with full lake view and balcony and thought it was worth the money although the balcony was very small and only just room for 2 small chairs.

All the Staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive.

Facilities in the hotel were good with a superb indoor pool which was more for relaxing rather than swimming and three other pools . The bar and terrace was very pleasant but the drinks were probably twice the price of the bars a short walk from the hotel.

The hotel is ideally placed for access to the Lake Steamers as the frequent 1/2 hourly car ferry from Cadenabbia to Bellagio was only 10 minutes easy walk away and the other steamer stops were 2 minutes or 5 minutes slow walk in either direction.

The 6 day "Centre Lake Ticket " was excellent value and well worth the money even if only used for half of the days. Although the hotel is across a fairly busy main road we did not find this excessively noisy or inconvenient when we were there - the hotel car park attendants did a great job in halting the traffic if needed.!! Added bonus was the brilliant weather during our stay.

This hotel is certainly on our list of repeat visits if and when we wish to return to this area.

" Beautiful part of the country, lovely... "

Beautiful part of the country, lovely hotel with extensive views over the Lake. Hotel decor a bit jaded, dated, could do with a good face lift.

Quality and size of rooms varied tremendously, and was not reflected in the price.
Although we paid an extra £50.00 for a room with a balcony, it was in fact a room with a metal grill fixed to the window, no way was it a balcony as there was absolutely nowhere to step out onto. It was literally a grill at the window.

The room - supposedly a twin double was extremely small so much so that we were unable to walk round the bed, to get to the other side of the room you had to climb over the bed. After complaining we were allocated another room - on the opposite side of the hotel, not overlooking the lake, overlooking a blank wall, but it was in fact a large room, approximately twice the size, but we were told because it is a bigger room there is no refund of the £50.00.

The dining facilities were split - with no apparent system - because you were with certain companies - and although we had paid in fact more than the other company we were not allowed terrace dining overlooking the lake, which was made a big feature in the original holiday brochure.

The hotel in conjunction with the tour operator organised day trips, but this was very badly organised - old people many with walking sticks, having to stand out on the steps - sometimes for an hour or more in very warm temperatures for the coach to come. Because of this lack of proper organisation and detail to health and safety- there were at least 2 accidents during the 10 days we were there. On two separate occasions due to the pushing and bustle on the steps, - which incidentally led out straight onto a main busy road - we were aware of two people falling and breaking limbs.

We were lucky we were mobile but for the less mobile this holiday must have been a nightmare.
