My husband & I spent a glorious 2 weeks at this resort.
We were there on a self catering basis, although the cooking facilities were not too good. The restaurant at the resort was excellent, good food, good choice of menu, friendly service, & above all very cheap.
The on site swimming pool was superb, all sunbeds & towels were free, the weather was around 30 deg. most pleasant, not hot & sticky. The Goans we met were so friendly. there is a super restaurant opposite the resort called Jo Cons. they have their own fishing trawlers & the food is freshly caught each day. The waiter is yours alone for the duration of your meal.
You can also get a good taxi driver there by the name of Peter. Taxi travel is very cheap. The resort is situated approx 10 mins from the beautiful white sands of Benaulim, there were plenty of free sunbeds which were usually in front of a beach shack cafe. The food is good & cheap. Inside these shacks you will find a sink with hand wash for customer & staff use. The locals are eager to show you what they have for sale & expect you to barter. I found this difficult at first, however what you have to remember is that it is a poor country, the more we pay for goods the more expensive it is for the locals.
Prior to leaving another country for India, be prepared for a long wait at the Indian Consul for your visa. You visit one day to collect the application form, (this involves joining a line of others waiting to get a number), the next day with your form completed, passport & two passport size photos & your cash (not cheque, nor card).
Then a 3rd time to collect your visa & passport. This can be done by post if you prefer, make your application about 6-8 weeks prior to travelling. However the frustration of all of this fades into insignificance once you are in Goa.
If you are thinking about going, make up your mind to visit & I hope you enjoy the experience as much as we did. We hope to return one day.
