pleasant, comfortable, clean and first impressions are wrong with this hotel. very helpful staff, buffet meals by the poolside to suit every taste. no complaints. who wants a grande hotel with no atmosphere.we booked bed and breakfast but chose to eat evening meal every night except the first night.

During our stay good cleaning seemed to be by chance, because of taking place only on maybe 4 days of a week. Drawers had to be taken out and turned over to clean them by ourselves which left me with a white covered shirt full of fungus from the down side of drawer.
Considering the fact that in spring time rain occurs occasionaly you would expect at least in ground floor apartments being supplied with dirt mats to leave your shoes before entering the room. Complaints at the reception were taken and it seemed they wanted to react but failed repeatedly.
Apartments around the resort are obviously being sold to permanent residents not taking care of the appearance to hotel guests. Don't think it gives a good impression to see half of the household lying around on the terrace while it could also have been dumped.
The whole complex seems to be heavily in need of renovation. This cannot be balanced by the very attentive staff in restaurant service.
- Advice: Wait at least 2 years until the new general manager had the chance to improve, what he really tries

We have just retuned from Cyprus where we spent 1 day/night at Paphos Gardens which was more than enough, before we moved to another hotel. From the moment we arrived we wanted to leave. The reception is in need of refurbishment. The appartment blocks are run down and dirty, the shower was a drible, the toilet seat stained, bedroom smelt and the lounge alive with cockroaches. The pool area was dirty and alive with ants bins overflowing. Breakfast was poor.

As soon as we got into the apartment we were confronted by cockroach in the bedroom area, we phoned reception who sent a maid to clear them and she left me with a spray so I could spray around the floors - nice!! Later we found more cockroach in the living area, absolutely appalled by this stage we went to reception to ask for a different apartment. We were told there was nothing else available and to go back the next day, the second day was the same story and again on the third day - by this time we'd had enough, worried to put your feet down at night in case you stepped on a cockroach, not to mention the hygiene issues in a self catering apartmentment, we spent over an hour with the most unhelpful unfriendly receptionist ever until she finally found us another apartment. This still hadn't been cleaned from the previous guest but at least it wasn't crawling with cockroach and the maids did clean it within a few hours. We thought we could finally relax and enjoy ourselves until the toilets packed up 2 days running.
The air conditioning was another joy, great during the day but forget trying to sleep with it on as it was really noisy. My other half can sleep through most things, he has been known to sleep through an earthquake, (OK, it was minor one, but shook most people out of their beds) and slept right through our house alarm going off one night right outside our bedroom, but he couldn't sleep with this noisy air-conditioning, it had a drone that just seemed to reverberate across the tiled floors and up the walls, so there was a choice, a cool noisy bedroom or a hot, not so noisy, bedroom because even if we turned our air-con off you could still hear the others from adjoining apartments when they had theirs on.
The cleaning was sporadic and trying to get a hand towel and a bath towel each was a challenge, we did get a full set for about two days then they took away the hand towels and did not replace them - I gave up! Even the bins weren't emptied everyday as they should have been and as they had the "greek plumbing", which meant no paper was allowed down the toilet, it went in the bin next to the toilet then it is essential bins were emptied daily. Going back to my earler comment about the plumbing you wouldn't have dared put paper down an already incapable system. The cleaning poolside was not better every morning thee were full ashtrays next to the sunbeds and the poolside bins weren't emptied meaning they attracted lots of creepy crawlies.
Never have we had a less relaxing holiday and we will definately not be returning to Paphos Gardens.

The minute we walked into our hotel, we know we are in trouble. There is 80s music played loudly all day long around the pool till 10pm, and tonnes of activities like quiz night, bingos and kareoke blazing through the roof. If you want peace and quiet, this is not the place to go.
The entrance and the lobby of the hotel is shabby to say the least, the lift had loads of dent into it. I thought one don't need to care about the lobby, but it get worst when you get to the corridor. All the doors of the rooms are flaky or half broken, the carpet stinks and in need of a deep wash. The tiles of the bath had chips and broken bits on it. The cover of the bed, well let's say our cats back home is going to catch fleas from us if we sleep on it. Very basic telly had hardly any reception. First when you look down from the balcony, the pool looks fquite nice, but it's got loads of tiles missing when you swim in it. The deck chair has'nt been clean for ages. The breakfast was very very awful.
Just please don't go there if you expect cleaniness.

We have just returned from a week at the Paphos Garden Apartments and were staying in a "superior" two bedroom apartment, an experience we would not like to repeat in a hurry,on arrival at our apartment we noticed that the entrance hall leading to the actual apartment was dirty and could have done with a good clean.
The apartment itself, as soon as we opened the door the smell of stale tobacco just hit us and we quickly opened all doors & windows, when looking around we noticed how dirty everything was, the walls, doors, floors were all grubby, the sitting area was ok but the furniture was threadbare and in desperate need of refurbishment and a good clean all over.
When we made our booking we were let to believe that both rooms would have en-suite facilities, this was not the case and we had to share the bathroom between the four of us, the toilet seat was loose and very stained like the rest it needed attention.
The kithen was described as "fully equipped" and in fact it was very poorly equipped and without the promissed mocrowave.
As for the bed rooms the sheets were like the rest threadbare, the blankets were stinking of stale tobacco there were pillows without pillow cases ( thank goodness I travel with my own pillow protectors) one bedroom was without bed side lamps and in general like the rest of the place grubby, the bedroom doors were so squeaky that you would wake everybody at night time.
As for the outside we had some plastic furniture which had seen the best years and could have done with a good clean but the best thing would have been the skip.
The whole outside of the complex was difficult to walk with most pavements broken, cracked and in a bad state.
The food and bar area was good with the restaurant serving good food.
Would we go back and stay at the Paphos Garden Appartments again? No Thank You!!!

i really enjoyed my holiday to cyprus when i went in febuary this year with my family, there was about 17 of us as we were celebrating a brithday. When we first arrived we was placed in a small family appartment but it just wasnt big enough to fit all four of my family in becuase we were all so big built,we decided to pay a small fee for an upgrade. After the upgrade we were put in a wounderfull two bedroomed villa with an upstairs to it. Because we went in febuary we almost had the whole inside pool to ourselfs which was great! but of course it was too cold to go in the outside pool, althought the weather was fairly mild and you could walk around with shorts and a tank top on. The beach however is mainly just rocks so if your looking to go sunbathing down there then its not worth your while, but you can have a lovely stroll down the sea front where there are plenty shops, bars and resteraunts including a starbucks and macdonalds on the walk to the beach from the hotel. There is also a large supermarket just 40minutes or so away from the hotel which is perfect if your self catering. The hotel resteraunt is also lovely, there is plently of room for all guests and the food was set in a buffet style so you can try new things and go up for more later. The staff were very friendly although i can't say i spent much time in the hotel. The apartments were very clean and all lovely furnished i would definatly recomend this hotel and the appartments to any family or couple that wish to go becuase i can almost certinly say you will have a fabulous time.

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which had recently been refurbished and therefore in excellent condition. It was lovely and spacious with a private back garden.
The complex has two pools one of which has entertaimnent most of the day such as organised water volleyball games, which my three boys loved. There is also a kiddies club there for the little ones. The staff were fantastic.
The location is very central about a 15 minute walk into town which is full of restaurants and bars.
We loved our holiday and can't wait to return to Paphos Gardens.

Booked hotel and apartment for family,as we were going to my sons wedding in Paphos, this hotel is ideal for kids, the staff and animation team were great, very hectic with a 7 year old and twin 2 year olds. The children loved Chunky the Monkey every night! and I must say Dave the Rave taught our grand-daughter to swim, he and the rest of the team were great with the children. I booked us all for half board, but wish I had waited till we arrived as we paid full price for the children and could have saved money. The hotel room was cleaned daily, and the apartment was very big and spacious. This hotel is ideal for children, but the drinks prices were quite high, after first week we ended up buying lemonade from the supermarket for the children to drink at night.

Having read other reviews before going on holiday we were a little wary but we believe that it comes down to expectations. We always expect basic, but appear to have been one of the lucky ones as our 2 bedroom 1st floor apartment appeared to have been refurbished within the last 2 years. Excellent kitchen facilities, large lounge and dining area and 2 good sized bedrooms. They appear to be refurbishing all apartments, so it appears to be pot luck which one you get.
At first we received daily towels for 4 people (2 adults and 2 children) and then it diminished very quickly. We had to regularly contact reception for clean towels and when we got them, we only received 2 bath towels and 4 hand towels!!
When we complained to the rep, her response was that there was a water shortage and they were only changing towels every 2/3 days. We said that if the hotel management had told us about this we would not have kept chasing reception. However, they were taking the P*** by giving us 2 towels for 4 people every 2/3 days.
However, the position was excellent for walking into town. Good restaurants close by. We hired a car for 10 days so managed to get to many more restaurants that were further than walking distance. Staff were friendly but they were typical Greeks - order your food one hour before you get hungry!!
We used the main pool by the hotel which got very busy. Usual towels on sunbeds with no-one using them until after lunch (if they ever turned up). Good children's entertainment team.
Not sure we would go back but do not let this deter you from going as we never go back to a previous holiday spot but we would like to try the other parts of Cyprus (Ayia Napa or Protaras).
Top tip for visiting tourist sites. National Heritage sites are signposted in brown and good value for money. Other sites are purely there to make money. Would not recommend the Adonis Waterfalls for families.
Enjoy your trip to the Paphos Gardens Apartments, we did.

I have just returned from a week all inclusive holiday at Paphos gardens, we stayed there from 31st august until 7th September 2011. This is the first time I have ever wrote a review because I am disappointed, usually its to rave about how wonderful it has been, but I have to say this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, and my friend agrees. I wouldn’t mind but she’s travelled around the world for a year and stayed in hostels, and the customer service and rooms were a lot better. Don’t be tricked by what you see on the photos, it does have potential to be a good hotel, its just a shame that the people who own and run it are just there to make money, and the staff (80% of them) are rude and nasty.
Where to start? Well basically don’t waste your money here at Paphos Gardens! There are far better hotels than this in the area, my friends stayed at; Riu Cypria, Pafian Park and Pafian Sun village. If you are willing to spend abit more then definitely go for the Riu Cypria, it’s amazing, surreal how beautiful it is!! Whereas the two Pafian resorts are lovely, friendly helpful staff and lovely food! You can read your own reviews about them anyway…
Paphos gardens has potential but it’s all wasted. Firstly if you are a fussy eater, have allergies (like me), are vegetarian then there will be nothing much on offer here for you. When I’ve been on all inclusive before I’m used to walking into the dining room and have a varied selection of foods, that cater for most appetites. At paphos gardens you only have around 2 or 3 bowls of salad, which generally have meat or feta cheese, so if you don’t like it….tough??? then they have around 3 or 4 hot containers with, rice, pasta, veg and one or two meats… and that’s about it really, they have other bits and pieces like sauces for pasta and salad ect.
Secondly the majority of staff are rude and nasty, at the start of the holiday I saw guests crying at the reception and when talking to bar staff, this seemed to carry on almost every day? We didn’t understand at first, but then they started being the same with us. On the first day we arrived at around 2am and the last day we were due to leave around 9pm. The last day was the worst of all!! We decided to stay at the hotel for the last day so that it was easier to pack and get ready to leave, it was around 38degrees when we went, so very hot!! We only ever drank water there, which they supply bottles, which is a bonus. But the last day it was hotter, and come 12 oclock they refused to serve us any water, saying that we had had out two drinks for the day. BE WARNED OF THIS! As they wont notify you of this earlier! So if you are booked in here make sure you save money for the last day as even though you’ve payed for 7days they only do 6days and a morning!
We were all inclusive so all our meals and drinks were included, you also get snacks through the day at certain times, the snacks are better than the meals, as they are freshly cooked and not re-used from the previous meal time. If you have to go to this hotel make sure you take immodium tablets as you will need them if you eat there! We started eating at our friends hotels after a few days and the tummy trouble cleared up.
Now for some more bad news, they over booked the hotel, and instead of coming up with a sensible solution they made one lady sleep on a sun lounger which they carried up from outside and covered with a sheet, she was very angry at the front desk when we saw her, poor woman! She had payed over £600 for a week at this awful place??!! People had to have room changes due to lots of cockroaches in their initial room. We were quite lucky really, they made us sleep in a double bed instead of two singles, which is nothing compared to the others obviously, also the showers flooded. They don’t like to do anything that means they have to make any sort of effort….?
All I can say is that it’s a good job I’ve stayed in Cyprus before or this would of put me off for life! We met lots of different people there with the same disappointment and complaints, from families with young children, people on their own and elderly couples, they were all lovely people. It was so upsetting to see so many people feeling down, I was just glad to be going home!
I hope this review helps in some way, I’m sorry if you’ve already booked, the one thing I will say that’s positive is that if you’ve booked all inclusive you get a free back massage, which they wont tell you about!! Luckily one of the other people who were staying there had heard about it, so we had it done. You just go down to the lowest floor and you show them your green band and tell them your room number. Another thing is to try and keep your green band on! If they don’t take it off you on the last day in the morning then that will be a good thing, as you will be able to get water and not dehydrate!!
Thank you for taking your time to read this, just try to get out of the hotel as much possible and site see ☺ there’s a lot of lovely places to go and see around Cyprus especially THE ADONIS BATHS! We couldn’t get there, as we didn’t find out about it until the last day but our friends who got married the day previous went there and said it was amazing! Like something you would see in the movies, Aphrodite’s rock isn’t much but the other attractions and historical places are nice
Also a must if you want to go out for a meal is MOTHERS KITCHEN a warm welcome, lovely service, very cheap prices and a lot of food amazing quality!! Its in paphos town near the bus station, just ask in one of the shops and they’ll direct you
