Great stay
I stayed in this hotel for one night and it was very nice. The hotel room was very clean and modern, the bathroom was bigger than I expected and the guest supplies were good as well. Only negative thing is that you have to pay 1 euro for leaving your bagage at the consigne when you check out. Other than that I had a very pleasant stay, the locatin is great, metro Vavin is just next to the hotel and there are lots of restaurants and cafés in teh neighbourhood.
Great Parisan hotel
Great location for Left Bank visit. Small rooms but very clean, excellent soundproofing and lots of hot water at very high pressure - a rarity in French hotels. Welcoming front desk service - they allowed me to get into a room at 9:00 AM after a transatantic flight. Breakfast buffet generous - boil your own eggs and squeeze your own fresh juice. got a good price incl. breakfast on the chain' s website. Will definitely stay there again.
Incredible!
I was part of a small group from the same company. I arrived late, after all my colleagues had arrived and confirmed my late arrival.....to find ou that my room had been given away!! Never again!
Good hotel/good location
My wife and I stayed here to do some Christmas shopping. The hotel is very well located, being very close to the Metro stations of VAVIN (across the street) and RASPAIL (1 minute walk). The 68 bus, which takes you into the city centre, stops outside. The hotel has been very recently refurbished and is clean and modern. We found our original room a little on the small side and were willingly and courteously given a larger one on the ground floor. I cannot reconcile the description of the rude/arrogant staff by a previous reviewer with... more
Good hotel, clean rooms, OK location
A very positive surprise. I had a conference trip and my travel agency recommended this nice hotel, not far away from Montparnasse cemetary (a nice park as well!). The non-smoking room was clean and the bathroom was just renovated. My window was towards the inner yard, but I was not missing any great scenaries. I appreciate rooms where you can draw dark curtains and have a nap in the darkness in the middle of the day. Even in that sense the hotel room was a positive surprise. Breakfast was OK, a wise decision for Paris where... more
Standard Paris Hotel
I can't believe the review that the front desk was unhelpful. I had no problems, although I suppose I can ask for services in a non demanding / antagonising manner, so maybe I get good service in return. Anyway, the actual hotel is a typical high narrow Paris hotel, with relatively small rooms, but with a good size bed,a TV and bathroom (shower cubicle,no bath). There is also wardrobe space and hangers as you would expect, suprisingly no mini-bar. Not much else, but as I say it is typically Parisian. A bottle bar exists for the odd beer... more
Rude Awakening
If you're looking for a lesson in manners, then check into this hotel and let their rude front desk staff try to give you one. I am 34 years old and I do not remember the last time someone ordered me to say "please" prior to following through on a request I'm paying them to provide. This same arrogant front desk man was also put in charge to order me a cab for the airport (which I asked the manager to do - not him after my manners lesson). The smokiest cab of Paris showed up which I gagged in all the way to the airport where I was dropped... more
great location
it was ok, great location. we had an ok size room, some in our group had a small room. very good breakfast, front desk was helpfull.
comfortable hotel
I just returned from Paris with a group of students. We stayed at the Raspail and found it to be quite nice. The rooms were a bit small by american standards but very comfortable and clean. There was easy access to the metro and busses. It is in a very safe neighborhood. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and was quite good. I would return to the Raspail in the future.
Ok, but could be better
We stayed here in October 2004. The hotel was Ok. The room and Bathroom were very small. The hallways were almost too narrow to get our bags through. The staff were Ok, their English was very limited but they tried their best to help us. The location is not very good for sightseers - it is too far from everything (although there are several Metro stops nearby). There are many good shops and restaurants nearby. We would not stay here again because we would like a bigger room and would like to be nearer the sights. Other than that it was... more
