Nice hotel
My family and I stayed at the Mercure Montmartre July 20 – 27, 2007. It was part of a package through Air Transat Vacations. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were a good size. The hotel staff were very friendly and spoke very well English. Our package also included a buffet breakfast. You could have the option of having it delivered to your room or going down to the dinning area. This hotel is located about 1 block away from the metro and 1 block away from the Moulin Rouge. It is also about a ½ hour walk to the Sacre... more
good deal - close to metro
Great full breakfast, clean nice size room, easy access to the metro and walking to sacre couer. our airconditioning wasn't teh greatest but they quickly gave us a huge fan. well worth what we paid for our trip!
Easy access to everywhere
The hotel shares the site with an Ibis and a car park. Underground is a DIY store. Sounds like hell but think again. It's just off the Place De Clichy and around the corner from the Moulin Rouge. There is a Metro station (13) less than 30 yards down the street. It is clean and tidy. Our bedroom had double doors so there no noise from other rooms. The bedroom is reasonable and has a safe in the wardrobe. There is also a minibar but as you would expect the prices are high. All the staff were very pleasant and all reception staff spoke English.... more
Good value
I've stayed here a couple of times - it's simple and clean. But when you're in Paris you don't want to spend a lot of time in your hotel anyway. Staff was friendly, breakfast is okay and there is a large underground car park (not free) if you really want to drive into Paris. The location of this hotel is pretty good - as long as you avoid the Avenue de Clichy which is just round the corner and a bit seedy. The Metro is close by, with an entrance very close to the hotel - just buy your carnet of 10 tickets before, because you can't buy... more
Good deal for the price
This hotel was part of our package deal from Ottawa with Air Transat Vacations. We found our room to be clean, well kept and more than adequate for our needs. We arrived during a heatwave and the airconditioning left something to be desired. Unlike other reviewers we found the front desk staff to be friendly, helpful and gave us some good restaurant tips. The buffet restaurant tended to be very busy between 8am and 9am and at times some of the food items had not been restocked. There are good restaurants in the neighbourhood and the... more
Quite dissapointed
I am just back to my second trip to Paris quiet unhappy with the treatment we got in this hotel. Since the first time I went to an Ibis hotel in Paris in 2001, I have choosen an Accor hotel for my holidays always when possible. What a mistake this time! The recepcionists, specially the one who "welcomed" when I arrived, are very rude, unpolite and no nice at all. Generally speaking, all the staff was the same. You can not expect any help from them or just a recommendation for a restaurant. Rooms were ok, but we were 3 people in a twin... more
Close to Montmartre
This hotel has a nice bright welcoming lobby. The hotel bar was pleasant and the staff were friendly. The beds were small but comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The best thing was that we were only a few minutes from colourful Montmartre!
A really wonderful and relaxing stay
The hotel is excellent! I am a greek student in the Athens University and travelled in a group with a travel agency in Paris. I stayed from 6/8/2005 to 12/8/2005 in the fourth floor in an one-bed room which was really large for just one person. The view from the fourth floor is a 19th century building opposite the hotel, the sky and of course the rue Caulaincourt. The reception was polite and helpful, my room (twin one-bed) and bathroom was very clean every day, the towels changed every day. The decoration is simple and relaxing. The... more
Wonderful stay!
Me and my mum planned a trip to paris. Our travel agent suggested us the Mercure Montmartre. When we got there, we couldn't believe that this hotel was 3, instead of 4, star hotel. It is a nice, well mantained building, modern enough with many conforts. Our room was double twin with a great view of Eiffel Tower. Beds were ok, bathrooms very well equiped and also very clean. Breakfast was a little bit poor but richer than the breakfast tha I take when I am at home. Its location is very convenient. The subway station is 2 min walk from the... more
beware the French bait and switch
Wife and son travelled to Paris on a Virgin Atlantic package. Transferred in London for flight to Paris. Arrived at hotel Mercure Ronceray (4 star- "room gauranteed on the voucher") Lo and behold, sold out! People "did not leave when they were supposed to" so we put you in another hotel. The "other" was 6 miles away, in Montmatre (Parisian Greenwich villiage without the restaurants) A real flophouse, complete with recent vomit on the lobby rug. Virgin was NO HELP fixing the problem either.
