I would just like to say what a brilliant time I had on this holiday! After reading reviews before we came I wasn’t looking forward to it at all!!
Once we arrived we got our AI bands and room key, the room was basic but all you need for a weeks holiday, because if your anything like me all you do in the room is sleep in it anyway.
Food was all good, drinks very nice, and didn’t have a problem with waiting 2 mins to be served.
Weather was gorgeous, have come home with a lovely tan.
To the entertainment team, John, Wez, Kez and Stevie! One word fantastic! They all really made the holiday for me! Carry on doing a great job!! They must work very hard and not on much sleep! My personal fav was john as he was really good at everything and was calling out the bingo numbers when I won my £180 Cypriot pounds! Gorgeous lad!
I would definitely recommend this hotel to people of all ages, I am 26 and the other people that I stayed here with ranged from 6 to 46, there is a lil bit of something for everyone!!

My mother and I went to the Pafian Sun feeling a bit unsure as to some of the reviews, we arrived late on Saturday night so only the night porter was checking people in which caused a little friction as there was quite a few people in the queue.
As it was late the restaurants were closed but we were given a little packed lunch in our fridge which was a nice touch! We had to pay for air conditioning which was 26 cypriot pounds for the week but well worth it.
The apartment was pretty basic quite like a Butlins chalet but the sea view more than made up for that, outside our room were sun loungers and umbrellas which were ideal for a quieter location.
The entertainment team were very hardworking and we enjoyed the shows that were put on every night, the food was good and even though I am vegetarian found something to eat every day.
Overall we do recommend this hotel but can imagine in the height of summer it would be difficult to find a sun lounger.

We stayed at the Paphian Sun Holiday Village for 11 days. 2 Adults & 2 children aged 12 & 14 yrs, all inclusive. Overall it was OK, but that was it. Although advertised as 4 star, I would put it at 3 only.
The first night that we arrived, I cried! I was greeted by someone that had lost their son for 2 hours, another lady who's apartment had been broken into, Karaoke & groups of teenagers, some of which were drunk.
We opened the door to the apartment, it smelt, the air con was dripping, TV smashed & the 4th bed, was worse than a camp bed.
Is this one of those holidays from hell, I thought? We had booked this place last min & had never stayed in a Holiday Village before now.
After a dreadful night sleep, I got up and decided that I was going to make the most of our holiday.
I complained about the air con, TV and lack of pillows. Within 1 hour everything was sorted even extra pillows, I was impressed!
If you book with Olympic, you have to pay for air con, it worked out to £72 English pounds for 10 nights. We booked with our local Thomas Cook to find we were passed on to Olympic. Thomas Cook Guests do not pay.
Location:
Very misleading in all brochures, you have to get bus or taxi to visit anywhere, even Coral Bay Beach. On main rd, however it does overlook the sea, you cannot get onto the beach that overlooks the sea, as this is owned by Cynithia Beach Hotel.
Apartments:
Clean, very basic, cleaners were ok however they did the bare minimum. The upgrades looked worth paying the extra although; they did not have any when we arrived. Its worth paying extra to overlook the sea. If you’re on the ground, don’t leave anything outside, as it will be pinched, even the plastic chairs!
Pool:
OK, not big enough for the amount of guests. Always appeared to look clean, apart from the plastic cups that floated around on a daily basis. There were not any rules as to drinks in the pool or inflatables. Therefore, it was sometimes hard to see any water, only colourful inflatables. I often saw young children sitting at the pool side or in the pool with drinks!
You need to get up early if you want a sun bed. We were told on arrival that you must not leave towels on sun beds. The first morning i woke, took a stroll to the pool to find all sun beds covered with towels & only a dozen or so people.
Staff: OK
Food:
Fantastic every night & plenty of it, all day long. My only gripe, would be drinking out of plastic cups! A vodka and bitter lemon just doesn’t taste the same.
Entertainment: Rubbish, nothing for teenagers. Every night was bingo & reps panto etc. The reps worked hard 7 nights a week. I just thought it would have been nice to see something different, not a Butlins show every night.
If you do want to watch the entertainment, just like the sun beds get there quick with your handbags. Every night there was not a chair in sight. Lots of people sat on sun beds to participate in the bingo, only time they were not taken!
Weather: fantastic
Conclusion:
If you love Blackpool, it’s the place to go with sun!
If we had paid £250 each all inclusive, I would have said, "you get what you pay for"
We paid considerably more; I do not feel the Paphian reflected the price paid.
Not really for teenagers, nothing to do, so they got up to other not so nice things.
If you want to see a little bit of Cyprus or Paphos, you need transport.

My family & I have been to Cyprus on many occasions throughout different times of the year for what is now our 8th year. Every time was better than the last, until now.
The brochure & description might well tempt you to staying there, but I would advise against it for the following reasons:
It took 35 minutes just to get checked in, solely because there was only 1 member of staff on duty, understandably maybe to some extent it was the early hours of the morning, but surely they could cater for the eventuality of having 60 odd guests arriving at the same time!
We then got given what equated to an orienteering map just to find our apartment. I enquired whether we could buy some bottled water & was bluntly told "No, the bars are shut until 10am there are refreshments in your room”.
We eventually arrived at our apartment to find 3 boxes of stale sandwiches, 3 small cartons of juice which we had to divide between my wife, myself, & 2 very tired & thirsty young kids.
A VERY VERY BIG point - aircon is not included within the price you have to pay, despite the fact that Thomas Cook clearly state, "aircon is included at no extra cost during July, august & September.” This is something I brought up with the rep who said she would look into it & let us know & I’m now in the uk still wondering.
Running out of room to write rest of faults. In short please go to Cyprus it is an absolutely gorgeous island with lots to offer, but don't bother coming to this complex.
Would highly recommend St George hotel about a mile away good for families loads to do & food is incredible! Or try Limassol & the kanika pantheon hotel only rated as 3* but feels like a 4/5* a very good all rounder with lots to do & see. I wish you all very pleasant & enjoyable trips to one of the most beautiful places on earth.

I and my friend who went to this resort were a bit concerned about the negativity coming from some of the guests about the resort. I suppose its each to their own.
We arrived late afternoon on the Wednesday to be greeted by an exceptionally helpful and friendly receptionist who gave us all of our remotes for the TV and air conditioning and told us how it all worked. We made our way to the studio room we were staying in and were delighted to have, albeit limited by plants, a sea view. The room was big, with two beds wardrobe drawers’ kitchenette and TV and a separate bathroom. Kitchen had a toaster kettle fridge and plates etc in there for our use.
Ok it wasn't the most luxurious room I have ever stayed in, but you don't spend your holiday in a room. Unfortunately our air con was not working so we went and spoke to reception, she explained again that we needed to make sure all windows were shut and locked. When it still did not work she sent a maintenance man out and by the time we went back to our room after eating it was fixed.
The pool was lovely and clean, but could do with being a little bigger for the size of the place. The sunloungers were incredibly close together which was not to our liking, however on the grass outside our room overlooking the sea there were further loungers and umbrellas, so we opted to stay there most of the week and then just climbed up the steps and into the pool for a swim.
We found most of the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Meals were good, but being a fussy eater was a bit repetitive for me, however my travelling companion had no problems with it. (There is always the children’s buffet if you don't fancy the adult one).
The entertainment staff were fab. They tried to cater for all different ages and worked tirelessly throughout the day and night. The evening entertainment when the staff were performing was great. We had a pantomime of Aladdin and an American theme music night which we really enjoyed. Kes is a fantastic singer and should go on X-Factor; she is wasted on a holiday resort (well not for the guests as she is worth hearing).
Wes is really funny and also sings well; Stevie is a great dancer with the ability to do some very high kicks with her legs and John is an all rounder. Well done to them for providing fun evenings and particularly the dance that everyone had to shake it up to at the end!
Buses to Coral Bay Beach and Paphos old town ran frequently and were cheap to use. If you go to Coral Bay, don't get off at the first beach get off at the second it is far nicer.
I really enjoyed my stay, as did my companion. It appears to cater more for families with younger children (think teenagers may find it less enjoyable) and also couples of all ages.

My family (7 people) went to the Pafian sun for two weeks, and although it was extremely hot, it was an experience none of us will forget in a hurry.
The room was basic but clean, and the maid always put out clean towels, even if she only cleaned the room 10 times out of the 14 day stay. The view was gorgeous, and we stayed in room 17H, which meant that it was a short walk away, but if we wanted to go to bed early at night, we wouldn’t be able to hear the music.
The restaurant was nice; however, being vegetarian I don’t think that they catered for us very well.
The Thomas Cook entertainment team worked tirelessly throughout the holiday, putting on games in the day, and entertainment at night. There is a nice selection of entertainment throughout the week, with a karaoke night, a pantomime, a new years eve, a family game show etc.
The four entertainers were all amazing in their own ways - Kez had an amazing voice that blew us all away, Stevie - one of the best dancers I’ve seen, John organises most of the games that go on throughout the day, and Wez is a fantastic all round entertainer.
It's not as if these people don’t take any notice of individuals either. Every night after the show they sat with us and had a drink and a chat, and they even taught us how to dance like them!
However, there were two things that did make our stay that less enjoyable.
1. Being a 7 piece family, we couldn’t get in one room together, so we had two. Unfortunately, these were situated nowhere near each other, and when we did request to the rep, to be moved, we heard no reply for a couple of days, and then we found out we couldn’t move anyway!
2. Taking teenagers with us, we found that they could not get involved in the entertainment at night, except for the kids disco, so they had to sit and watch.
However, after speaking with Wez and John, they decided to bring down the age limit of some of the games to 16.
Overall, I would consider going again, as it was a very enjoyable stay for all of the family.

First impressions were not too good as the reception area and indoor bar area were far from plushn and certainly not up to the 4 star rating.
Our room/apartment was clean but again well used, but to be honest was quite comfortable with good sea views.
Was not impressed at being charged £80 for aircon for the fortnight but it would have been impossible without it.
I am a single parent and took my two teenage children ages 14 and 15. Having read brochures thought it would be ideal place with plenty of things to do. I must admit my children had a great time, met loads of friends etc.
However from my point of view unfortunately I did not think it came near to the 4 star rating it has been given, and along with many other holiday makers that were there at the time, remain baffled as to how it’s not rated as two or at most three star.
That aside overall it wasn’t a bad holiday. The food was good with plenty of choice and something for everyone, if anything maybe a little repetitive but that is normal for hotels anyway.
The entertainment team were very energetic and did their best to keep everyone amused but you have to like bingo! And I hate it. It was geared up for families and young children mainly. Certainly not the place for couples wanting a quiet relaxing time.
The pool wasn’t the cleanest place, it was impossible to get a sun lounger unless you got up at 5 am. Also the pool was by no way big enough for the amount of guests staying in the hotel. Swimming was near impossible for bumping into bodies.
The only place to get a drink was the pool bar day or night! Most of the time there was a queue and on a night it was quite a long one. The bar inside was never used.
It does, I am afraid, have a butlins feel and would not consider going back. A very expensive holiday in cheap surroundings.

We arrived back from a week at Paphian Sun yesterday. Having read all of the reports on this and other sites, many being negative, we were a bit concerned as to where we were going! We decided we would go with an open mind and take it as it came. We flew on 22nd August from EMA and arrived at Paphos airport, it took half an hour to get to the hotel in a taxi and cost £25CYP.
Upon arrival at the hotel (late arrival-1am ish...) we were greeted by helpful, friendly and pleasant staff who gave us our welcome pack and free air conditioning control and directed us to our rooom. When we reached our room we found packed meals in the fridge for us which we thought was a nice touch. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean although basic.
There was a maid service 5 times a week with towels changed 5 times and beds changed twice, we feel this was more than adequate for a weeks stay. Next morning we made our way dubiously to breakfast and were again greeted by pleasant staff. There was a huge array of excellent quality food, this continued through breakfast, lunch and evening meal everyday. My wife is vegetarian and had no problem eating at every meal, the food was varied and had a theme to each day. There were also snack times in the afternoon and evening and free ice cream times for kids.
Reading through our welcome pack we discovered we could upgrade to a superior room with a sea view, decked area, personal sunbeds and umbrellas and a jacuzzi bath for £15CYP a day. We did so and were very impressed with the room we were given and it's superb sea view, our decking and loungers made the holiday especially enjoyable as we enjoy having our own space.
There was a demand for sunbeds around the pool area for people with young children. The pool area was clean and central to the hotel. The entertainment was very much aimed at families with younger children and as our children are 14 and 15 we decided to go out after our evening meals. There was an excellent bus service right outside the hotel to take you to Coral Bay or to Paphos for 80cents each. We also found there were some very nice taverns and bars a short walk down the road. Don't be afraid to walk and look for new places.
There is a small bay with about 8 sunbeds and a few chairs down a short path from the hotel, we found this suited us better than travelling to Coral bay which could get very busy. The sunbeds were at the edge of the waves and the water was very clear and still- excellent for snorkelling.
This was our 4th visit to cyprus, the first time in Paphos and we would definitely go back to the area. We thought this was a good hotel with great food and very polite and friendly staff.
Last but not least, if you go to the Paphian Sun you MUST go down onto the grass and watch the sunset. It is fantastic! The only downside was the gang of teenagers who were allowed to roam freely some drinking (obviously underage) and causing trouble which sometimes made me ashamed to be English!

This is definitely not a four-star hotel; the food was awful and mostly inedible.
The entertainment was poor and repetitive; a good analogy would be Pontins or Butlins abroad.
We were also charged £80 Cypriot for essential air conditioning, which we felt was too much, although the description was that it is a small fee.
On a brighter note our room was acceptable and our room service was excellent, the sea view we requested was beautiful.
The outdoor pool was disgustingly filthy and it was owned by hundreds of little kids.
We do not recommend this hotel!

Returned from a week at the Pafian Sun, the staff were always helpful if not friendly (usually), very busy but not oppressively so - there are quieter areas of the site away from the pool if you know where to look.
The room was clean, and cleaned in our case every other day, always immaculately. Towels however tended to get used up very quickly, so you need to learn to pace yourself if you don't fancy phoning for some more. Some ants in room, but they disappeared after the first few days - not sure if this was due to the cleaner or just nature taking its course.
Didn't find the sunbeds a problem, never went out before 8 and could always find a couple even at the height of August - a bit of carrying and repositioning may be required however, and plenty of seating is available poolside.
Food was good and varied, plenty of seating and helpful staff - did get a bit repetitive toward the end though. Drink queue wasn't too bad, quicker than at your local pub, the range on offer was good - bottled water is available from the minimart on site.
Think the price of the air conditioning depends on your tour operator, but it would be v uncomfortable without it.
Excellent location, right by a bus station, with very cheap (compared to the UK) fares all around the local area and sights - lots to do and see around Paphos, something for everyone, though perhaps the hotel is best suited to the young and the young at heart.
Facilities are fantastic, especially the daytime/evening entertainment - the entertainment team work their socks off, and it’s impossible not to get caught up in the activities and performances. Top notch.

I have just arrived back from 2 weeks at this hotel. The service, food, and entertainment was excellent.
Wez, Jon, Stevie, and Kez (entertainment team) deserve 10/10 for their talent and commitment, offering a wide varied range of fun and activities.
The food was exceptional, but would have liked more variety on the sweet section.
The facilities were extensive and adequate with plenty to do. As it was a busy time, it was every man for himself at 6.00am to acquire the amount of sunbeds needed for the day.
There is plenty to see and do in Paphos - not to be missed - a lazy afternoon by the harbour, a sea cruise, a meal at Captain's View (on the harbour) and the World Heritage Site (roman ruins) just behind the harbour.
For shopping the market is not to be missed.
For the beach go to Coral Bay Beach, beautiful yet hot!!
Over all we had a great holiday here even though there were a lot of children on site (we, leaving ours at home, all adults now).
I would recommend this holiday village to all with kids and family.
A great time had by all.

Bit nervous about the accommodation after reading some of the comments, however, was pleasantly surprised with cleanliness of room and facilities. The maids did always come and change towels and sheets. Sea view was wonderful and we arrived just in time to see the most wonderful sunset from our balcony. However, that concludes all of the good things I have to say about this hotel.
It’s the first time we've done all inclusive and we really didn’t get the benefit of it as most days we chose to get out. We chose to eat out a lot as the meals became repetitive, always the same choices apart from Chinese night which was very good. The hot snacks during the day were a laugh; actually they consisted of left over breakfast sausages and bacon, every day!
The drinks are obviously watered down as every cocktail I tried tasted like coloured water.
The entertainment was always noisy, although once you moved away from the pool area, you couldn’t hear it. But that meant we were never really at the poolside. The team who were good at their jobs, bombarded guests with daily bingo, quizzes, pool aerobics, water polo and the like. If you wanted a quiet relaxing holiday, forget it.
Great place if you have kids and you are the type who enjoy staying within the complex itself.
Lovely view of the sea and sunset, but wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
