I went there with 5 girlfiends to celebrate 60th birthday, and had a really good time.I knew we were in thre right place when check in was so smooth and speedy.
As an All Inc virgin...expected food to sitting out for hours and watered down drinks. Definately not the case here. Food was very good, well cooked ,presented, and it just kept coming. Stomachs were too small to eat what was on offer!!!
And drinks well ......easy to get and plenty of variety if you like cocktails....limited beers etc.
Entertainment was made by ourselves playing games every night but we did try to win £220.0 up for grabs every night.
Indoor pool was heated and nearly empty all the time so it became our territory.
Best thing about this holiday were the people that were holidaying at same time. We were lucky to meet so many friendly people and got to know several by name!!! The nights were filled with laughter from various groups and was quite infectious. Greatime of year to go....shame it is closed over Christmas otherwise I would have re booked. Would go back again but not in high season....I should imagine it would be too popular.

I have just returned from a weeks holiday staying at the Pafian Sun Village in Paphos.
I had read many of the reviews after booking the holliday and was starting to get a bit worried about what i'd booked as quite a few of them wernt that positive.
However on arrival I was impressed straight away. The staff were very polite and promt.
The rooms are very spacious. With seperate bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom was small but had a bath and shower.
The pool area was very nice with the 'infinty pool' looking out to sea. (this looked amazing at sunset).
Because its November and out of peak season I didnt realy expect good entertainment and I wasnt far wrong. We wernt too botherd about it, but there wasnt your usaul full on family entertainment. (skeleton staff comes to mind!) Curtis and Laura did an ace job though!!
Being all inclusive ment we could eat and drink pretty much all the time. What can I say . The food was amazing!! Loads of choice with a different theme each night. There were no corners cut here I can assure you.
The beer was served in a plastic cup (unless in the resturant). Your would probably need to have 3 or 4 of these to equal a pint.
I had read that the lager was watered down. It certainly wasn't while we were there!
There isnt a beach by the hotel (there is a small cove as we descovered but you have to walk across rocks to get to it. Not good in flip flops!).
Corel bay is the nearest beach. Its only 10 mins on the bus. The bus stop is right outside the hotel.
All in all we realy enjoyed our stay. I think we had picked the time of year spot on as the weather was hot but not unbearable (25 degs every day).
We have been to cyprus before, in August and it was nearly 40 every day - Unbearable!
Apprently there was about 200 peaple staying there while we were and that was nice as we wanted a relaxing holiday but in peak season there can be 800 staying there. To be honest I think that would be far too busy. There certainly wouldnt be enough sun beds!and we didnt have to que at the bar.
So we definatly recomend staying here but we would only return at this time of year.

Ok. When i looked at the reviews of this hotel i was a little worried i was going to be met with a rubbish holiday, but needless to say it was fantastic!!!
the food was fantastic the room was clean (cleaned 5 out of 7 days of my stay)
the entertainment wasn't that great for adults (although the entertainment team work really hard) don't get me wrong great for the kids!!! (they were always occupied)
i will recommend you hire a car if you want to investigate the island, the hotel is a fair way from town... taxi costs 15 Euros
all in all the hotel was lovely and the staff were brilliant... so don't listen to the biggots i had a fantastic time, so did other people i met there
have fun and enjoy your holiday x

Well where shall I start. After reading the reviews before going (and wishing I had not done this) I was expecting Fawlty Towers or something much worst.
Yes it is true that it is not a 4* hotel (more like a 3) but I was told that they had this rating because they had air conditioning (also you did not have to pay for this which we didn't find out until 2 days before leaving - another reason why I shouldn't have listened to the reviews).
First the bad points (but these were not serious and only 3):-
The TV only had 1 english channel - news but then who goes to Cyprus to watch tv!!!! But we did watch knight rider one night with Cypriot subtitles.
Towels were only changed twice but the room was cleaned every day except on the Friday and the day we left (we all have to think about the environment on this point)
The position was too far away from anything so when you are there you tend to stay there and could not walk to anywhere
Now the many many good points:-
The staff were very friendly, helpfull and nothing was too much for them (especially the reception staff and bar staff).
The food was fantastic with plenty of choice even for the picky people. You have to be used to butler service and a la carte eating if you thought otherwise. When we arrived after mid night there were sandwiches, cake and juice left in the fridge (yes the bread is dry but all the bread we encountered on the island was the same)
The pool was good - but we did go out of the high season so it could get crowded in summer.
The hotel looked a bit dated but what do you expect if you only pay £1300 for a family of 4 All inclusive (all other hotels in the area were at least £2k)
The entertainment staff were great and yes we had childrens disco/games etc and bingo every night but it was all enjoyable and you have to join in to get the most out of the place. They did a different thing for adults and kids every night at 10 o'clock - from a magician or singers etc.
Well I think I have gone on long enough now and would consider going back again. So I would like to thank (NOT) the people that left negative comments on the hotel as they almost made me cancel it and loose a lot of money.
PS I also heard that they are going to close the hotel down this winter to refurbish the place and put another pool there so next summer should be even better.

We checked into this hotel at 4am in...

Oct 2008, Miss L Sharpe

We checked into this hotel at 4am in the morning, the guy on reception was friendly and at this time we had no problem. We went to our room which was a pool view, we found it to look very dated and certainly not 4* standard. We didn't bother unpacking as we were so tired so decided to go straight to bed. We pulled the covers off the bed to discover a couple of beetles, we brushed them off and thought as we were in Cyprus a few bugs were to be expected. Once we got into bed, we had to switch the light back on after 10 minutes as we felt itchy to discover that our beds were crawling with beetles and red spiders - some on my pillow and some were squashed where we had lay on them! As you can imagine we were horrified! We got dressed and went back to reception where we explained the problem and were told that he would give us some spray to kill the bugs! I couldn't believe what i was hearing, i am pregnant and we were expected to spray our beds with pesticide then sleep in them! We made it clear that this was not an option and could not stay in the room but were told that we would have to wait until the following day to speak to the reservation manager, he would not offer us another room and when we insisted we did not have a choice but to stay in the room we had and if we didn't like it we could leave. His attitude was disgraceful. We asked him to call another hotel to find us a room and he refused. He even made us wait before he called a taxi for us. We were stranded outside the hotel at 4:30am with nowhere to go! Quite frightening especially being pregnant. The taxi driver was very helpful and found us somewhere to stay - 'St George Gardens' a few minutes down the road. This was also a 4* apartment complex but was a world ahead of the Paphian Sun. We had a great holiday there in the end and i would recommend 'St George Gardens' to anyone. To anyone on here who has written reviews saying that anyone who has a bad word to say about this hotel would find fault with anywhere should try sleeping in a bed infested with bugs and being treated like dirt by the reception staff. We paid good money to stay in a 4* hotel and i don't think it is unreasonable to expect 4* standard. If i wanted to stay 2* i would have booked a 2* and paid a lot less money. Do not go to this hotel - we wanted to come straight home after we arrived which is a shame when a holiday is something you look forward to all year. If you have booked this hotel - change it!!

Dont book if you are looking for a relaxing quite holiday with good food. This hotel is not four star its more like a very iffy 3star we were very diappointed the food was awful to the point were we didnt bother with breakfast even though we had paid for it. The rooms are very basic ours had mould growing in between the tiles of the bathroom and the ants were awful. This is really a resort for families and 18-30s that don't mind poor entertainment and bingo every night. one thing i wolud recomend is hiring a car as the excursions are very expensive for what they are it much cheaper to book a car and do what you like.

Second time holidayed at the Paphian....

Second time holidayed at the Paphian. Decided to go for a week in April because of the poor reviews id read and id already booked for the September hol to stay for my wedding, had to check it out as didnt want miffed in-laws, or friends!! I neednt had worried, OK so its not the equivalant of a 4 * AI in the Caribean, but thats just it its not the Caribean its Cyprus!! Why do us brits think its national past time to find something to complain about, your on holiday enjoy it! The food is great, differently themed every night, if your their for 2 week u get the second week repeated, but give them a break the cooks do great job. The rooms and communal areas are spotless i bumped into a cleaner at 10 pm one night cleaning the toilets near the stage area!!! The Thomas Cook entertainment team are fab i dont no where they get the energy. We had 3 under 5s in our party and they loved the mini disco and water aerobics! I would say the only bad thing are the ants, but this isnt a problem isolated to the Paphian, on every holiday to Cyprus they have paid a visit - just tell reception or the cleaner n they will try n sort it, dont let it spoil your hol! All in all a fantastic time and great hotel oh and if anyone thinking of gettin married id say look inti Cyprus - we had the best time, stress free and oh sunny days. Will def go back to the Paphian

Sep 2008, Miss S Hogan

I have just returned from a week at the pafian sun village and had a wonderful time. Prior to leaving I looked up the reviews on the computer and some I must say were very negative, as a result my partner and myself were a bit anxious before we left, however when we arrived we were plesantly suprised. The food was excellent and lots of choice on a daily basis. The rooms were basic but clean, and the pool was beautiful. The entertainment team did their best and some of their shows had us in stitches. Nothing but positive remarks from both my partner and myself and we will be returning next year!!!!!!
