Very Disappointing
from bourets
I have been very disappointed about my stay at the Mercure Montparnasse. For the price (almost 200 euros/night) the room are not comfortable and look more like a 2 stars/100 euros night hotel. In addition, the staff is really not friendly and helpful. Will definitely never go there again.
Not enough value for the price paid
from rebelphoto
I have stayed at Mercure Montparnasse during a short business trip to Paris a few days ago. It was booked for me by the receptionist in my company. Based on the price (185 EUR per night) I have expected a comfortable, modern hotel, and a good service. Due to an early meeting, I was on my way to the hotel at around 8 pm from the Gaite metro station. Had to ask a police officer for directions as no one seemed to know about Mercure Montparnasse, and passed 4 or 5 sex shops before finally arriving at the hotel. There was scaffold on the...

Give it a skip
from GlindaW
Stayed there on business with a colleague. Rooms are very dark. Only one of the sockets worked in the room, this meant that the TV didn't work. On the morning of the conference the hairdryer didn't work. Not great when you are about to do a presentation! The guy on the desk didn't give us any solutions and we had to make him come up to the room to look at it and eventually he contacted his 'technical person' who he said would be there at 8am (too late for us). Thankfully he arrived early and fixed it but it was just so much hassle....

Mercure Montparnasse a big disappointment
from Mairmi
I have just returned from a stay at the Mercure Paris Montparnasse Hotel and was very, very disappointed. I stayed here for a conference (as this hotel was recommended by the conference organisers). The hotel is directly opposite a sex shop, with lots of other sex shops on the street also. We had requested a room with 3 single beds (which we were charged for). The room consisted of a double bed with 2 pull out single beds, with the couch used for a head board. The hair dryer in the room was not working and neither were some of the plug...

Hotel is strictly okay
from sunshine_nyc
I stayed in this hotel just last week and I have to say I was unimpressed. The hotel has one good thing going for it - Location. It's close to 2 subway stations and one main train station. But other than that the hotel room was small, the carpet was worn out and most importantly the rooms don't have an iron, something that is required if you plan to attend an evening show. While I'm not a stickler for an in-room iron I would expect the hotel to have a stock of 10-15 irons that they could share among the rooms. However the hotel has an...

Nice Hotel
from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed in the Mercure for a week in March and it was a nice hotel. To get to the hotel from the CDG Airport we took the Air France bus #4 and got off at Montparnasse. The hotel is just a couple of blocks from the bus stop. It is also located close to the Gaite Metro station which is convenient to get to all the touristy attractions. The rooms are small but sufficient, the only gripe being that the room does not have an iron or an ironing board. Also they keep just one small bar of soap. On the bright side the staff is...

A very pleasant stay at this charming hotel
from marom
As you must know by now a good hotel needs 3 basic things to be worthwhile: location, good service and cleanliness. This hotel has all three. The location is very comfortable since the hotel is located in a short street with metro stations at both ends - each one a different line and both of them very usefull. If you walk a bit further you even have a third line and in another direction you quickly arrive at the Gare Montparnasse where you have plenty of bus lines (and somewhere in betweeb is the Air France bus stop connecting you to...

Very nice stay at this Hotel
from Solstrimma
Me and my sister stayed here for 4 nights, this was my first time in Paris and i search the internet a lot to find a nice hotel, and this was perfect. Good size of the room/bathroom, little too hard bed but not too bad, we have a room at the backyard, we could even see the top of the Eiffeltower! No problem with street noise at all, Very nice breakfast buffé. Thanks for real bread! Lot of good restaurangs in the area. Good location near Montparnasse central. Easy to get here with RER-train from De Gaulle. I love Paris...

Nice and Causy
from A TripAdvisor Member
I have stayed in Mercure for a couple of days in December 2004, the hotel is nice and causy. Highly accessible, near the underground station and a short walking distance from bus station. From CDG airport you can take the shuttle bus and it will drop you really nearby the hotel at Montparnasse. The room view was not the best but the room itself and room service was great. I do recommend this hotel.
Don't miss this hotel!

My boyfriend and I went to Paris for a long weekend break and stayed at the Mercure Montparnasse. Prior to leaving for our trip, we read countless reviews about our chosen hotel and were somewhat concerned about the references to the countless sex and video shops on the same street. What the reviews failed to mention were the vast number of fantastic restaurants (including japanese, indian, egyptian, italian and traditional french cuisine) , cafes and bars on Rue de la Gaite. The location of the hotel was brilliant for travel aound the city-...
