First used this hotel in 2000. Excellent location and the quietest hotel we have stayed in. Staff very friendly and professional. All meals are of a good standard. 5 minutes walk to Elli beach. Casino and Mandraki harbour. Not the prettiest hotel to look at but the standard... more

This was a last minute booking and we had one of the best holidays so far. Hotel was ideally situated close to old town and new town. Food was excellent, dining staff very friendly and helpful, pool pleasant never any problems getting sun beds. All in all a fab place -... more

b&b at the plaza
It took me quite a while to narrow the field down to the plaza. we had originally been going to book the mitsis grand, but i felt some of the reviews we read were not too great, so we opted for the plaza, and what a good choice it was. Our room was spacious and very clean, the girls who worked there were great. When we arrived it always smelt very fresh, our beds were changed every second day, the room cleaned every day. There is a mini-bar in the room, but we emptied it and used it for our own drinks. Unfortunately I did not take ice-cube bags, and there is a little freezer compartment in the fridge. Our breakfast was very good, a great selection from continental to a cooked breakfast, it really filled you up. I was also worried about not taking a hairdrier, but there was one in the bathroom. There is also a pull-out dryer line above the bath which was really useful. The pool area was really relaxing, although we did find the pool quite cold, and always went in the jacuzzi after a dip. We also ate at the pool bar a few times for lunch. I must say this was really exellent value, and everything we had was delicious. when we came back at night we sometimes had a drink at the hotel bar, which was open to the street, everyone was very friendly. If we go back to Rhodes, we will go back to the Plaza.
Good one
Me and my husband we stayed here for a week from 1st of august 2007 and I can say the hotel is very good one, much better then you can see on their website pictures. The room was very nice, clean, a small bathroom but a big room. The hotel has a great position right in the center of town, very close to everything (beach/shops/ market/bars/port), but you should know you can’t see the sea from the hotel. Breakfast was ok, not so richer. Dinner was much better then breakfast, the food was very good prepared and very tasted. If you want to know one thing that wasn’t very great was the hotel stuff - front desk, they never salute us and every time we talk to them they were so cold and feed up of their travelers. That I didn’t like at all and I was very disappointed because everything else was good.
The place to stay!!!!!!!!!
We are not long back from our stay in the Best Western. The Hotel was refurbished 2 years ago and the rooms both private and public were in good decorative order. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant seems a little more preoccupied and may have been under pressure from their supervisor. (grumpy old man syndrome) Our room (528) was well equipped,it had hair-dryer fridge/mini bar, wired free broad band, TV and balcony. It was nicely decorated. The pool area was compact but functional with good sun loungers tables and chairs and a nice poolside snack bar. The location of the hotel was excellent it was 5 minutes from the beach 5 -7 minutes from the old town but was situated on a quiet street which allowed for those who liked to go to bed early or have a lie in the next day. One negative that I noted from other reviews, was the smell of cigarette smoke in the bedrooms, periodically. Personally I believe that it was being brought in by the air conditioning, as when I smelt it there was no one near our door smoking. Minor problem. We sampled the food from the pool snack bar, Nice freshly made sandwich. The breakfast which was included in the price or was available to passers by at a cost of 5 euro (£3.40) per person was ok. Personally I like fresh healthy home-made produce but this was anything but. Tinned fruit, sugary pastries fried food, vended fruit juice, for some it would be good value for money for me it didn't make the mark. We didn't try the lunch or dinner. All in all if I had to score this hotel I would give it 7/10. Would I stay again - yes without a doubt.
great value
We spent 7 nights at the plaza in may. 5 nights at the beginning of our trip and 1 at ehe end. We found the location to be perfect. An easy walk into the old town, handy for the new town and very quiet. The breakfast buffet was the best we've had in Greece and the staff were quite accommodating. Room was clean and comfortable and quiet. We would always stay here on future trips to Rhodes. Booking online was a big savings and when we extended oaur stay by a few days we were given that rate of 55 euros per night.
Pleasant Hotel
I spent a week in Rhodes with my fiancée in the beginning of June. We stayed at the best western plaza hotel. The hotel is very well located, 5 minutes walk from the Old Town, the harbor and the main shopping area. The room was spacious and we had also a small balcony with a nice view of the harbor. Hotel is very well equipped with computer, wifi etc . Breakfast is a buffet with a great choice and dinner is also a buffet of greek dishes. The pool area is very well organized with sun beds and the pool bar offers hot meals and drinks. I would definitely come back to this hotel if I plan another trip to sunny RODOS
Excellent location
Have just returned from a week at the Plaza. We had a room on the 5th floor front so had a view over rooftops to the entrance to the Harbour and could see the cruise ships and ferries coming and going. The hotel is only a couple of minutes walk from the harbourside, the Old Town and the main shopping area and is in a quiet area so is very well located. We had a spacious room with 2 very large single beds with a good en-suite and a small balcony all kept very clean. Breakfast is a buffet with wide choice and dinner is also a buffet of greek dishes and 12 euros for 3 courses is good value. Hotel is very well equipped with computery, wifi etc and 2 PCs for guest use on 1st floor for small charge. The only negatives I can think of is that one or two of the front desk staff were not very helpful, cigarette smoking in the pool area was annoying and ther is only a small area off the lobby open to anyone to store luggage after checkout. We would however not hesitate to stay at the Plaza again
Very good hotel, perfect location!
We stayed at the Plaza at the beginning of August, for 10 days - and are already sorry it wasn't for 20! (Will be next year, definitely!) Rhodes itself is perfect, has a lot to offer to everyone - amazing enough for our 4-year-old (the castle, water park in Faliraki, wonderful cruise to Symi...), the old town too big to be explored in 10 days... The hotel itself gave us everything we needed - it was spotlessly clean, breakfast and dinner offered a wide variety of food, the hotel staff were pleasant and helpful..Our room overlooked the pool, it was fairly small, but it didn't bother us at all - everything else was perfect. The location couldn't be better - we were "in the golden middle" - 5 min.walk to the beach and somewhere in the middle of the old and the new parts of town. This part of town is really quiet, no loud music late at night. The pool bar offers hot meals at very reasonable prices (comparing to some other restaurants nearby), and was our favourite lunch place. The pool area is never crowded and has enough sunbeds for everyone. The same goes for Elli beach - very clean and well maintained. We will definitely go back to this hotel and would recommend it to anyone!
Nice Hotel
We spent 4 nights in this hotel. THe location is great, the rooms very clean, the lobby large and very convenent for gathering. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise with a huge variety. WE had dinner there one night, which is a buffet of Greek specialties and it was pretty decent. There is a lovely pool that just opened the day we were leaving. The travel agent next door was very friendly and helpful. THe only negative was the cigarette smoke which you cannot escape even with the small non-smoking areas they have in the breakfast room as well as the lobby. However, that is a fact of life in Greece. Also, the keyboard internet access which was supposed to be available at no extra charge did not work. THe staff was accomodating, but a bit stiff and did not go out of their way to extend themselves.
A decent hotel in a handy location
After travelling around Rhodes Island my husband and I booked a final night in the Plaza Hotel before heading home. It's a decent enough place, the room was clean with a fridge (bit noisy in the night), free internet access via the TV and air conditioning. The hotel decor in the public areas was rather dark with lots of deep red paint, a bit old fashioned perhaps. The breakfast was good and varied. The Plaza served us well for one night; in a very good location - situated in the New Town but close to the Old Town and beach - but considering the price (115E per night per room) I think it could have been better.
Good hotel - centrally located
We checked out of this hotel on May 29th. The hotel was clean and the room was fine. The breakfast was good and there was good variety (even eggs). Cigarette smoke is a bit of a problem. We had to put a towel under the door to keep the smoke from coming into our non-smoking the room at night and the non-smoking section of the breakfast room was small and in a dark corner. The parking is on the streed at .6 E per hour, but if you drive a couple of blocks to the church and walk back, there is free parking behind the church along the water. They have an exceptional person (tall, thin, dark-haired) at the front desk who gave us directions and restaurant recommendations - all very good. We would definitely stay there again.
