Well what can I say....this hotel is a sham!!!! I had to pay full adult fare for my 14 year old son who then had to sleep on a camp bed for 14 nights and it collapsed on the first night so he ended up sleeping on the floor on the 2 inch mattress for 14 nights instead!!! The... more

Brilliant Value And Location
Having been to Paphos before, we were really wary of this hotel as it was really cheap booking direct. It was lovely. Really clean, nice pool area, breakfast really nice, english breakfast included, maid service every day, good location. It was maybe 15 mins walk from the harbour and the main "bar street" but there is plenty pubs and restaurants near the hotel which are fairly lively. We were there for a wedding at the Elysium and the hotel is ideally located as it was directly opposite this hotel. Would definatley go back.
Would recommend this hotel
We booked through the web as we were visitng Paphos for a family wedding. this hotel is of 3 *plus rating in our eyes. It suited our trip perfectly as there are plenty of bars and restaurants near by. There is a very cheap and easy bus service to the harbour and main centre. The rooms were clean and the service from the staff was always excellent. In the summer it is very very hot so it was also good that the air con worked well and the pool area and pool bar were fine. If we returned to Paphos we would definitely think about staying in this hotel again.
Lovely Hotel,Good Location
The Kissos is in a good location with plenty bars, restuarants nearby. A five minute taxi ride takes you to the harbour or there is a frequent bus service which runs till11pm. The rooms were nice but bathrooms bit dated. Both outdoor pools were kept very clean although the water was very warm in August. The indoor pool and facilities were a bit worn. On arrival the reception staff were excellent and did not disappoint during our stay-the reception itself is very spacious and nicely decorated. We stayed on an enhanced half board basis which included two drinks each with our meal. The food was excellent with plenty to choose from each night .The restuarant manager was Cypriot and was exceptionally friendly and helpful, however, most of his staff were foreign and not so cheerful! My nine year old son had a great time as did we but evening entertainment could be better. I would not hesitate in returning to this hotel ir location again.
Try the Kissos Hotel
I chose Paphos to get married in & was looking for a hotel to suit the 27 guests that were coming to Paphos over the 2 weeks. I chose the Kissos due to location, price & the fact it would suit couples, families & singles. We arrived on the 16th July & stayed for 2 weeks. I booked direct to the hotel & hotel staff members Natalie & Zoes dealt with my booking in a very friendly & helpful manner. They really could not be more helpful. They even introduced themselves on arrival & made all my guests feel very welcome as they arrived over the first week. We booked the superior rooms which i would recommend for the lagoon pool alone as it runs down between the 2 buildings then forms into a large pool & it is so much better than just your standard pool. Also the air con in these rooms were superb!! These rooms had 2 single beds & a pull out sofa bed & it was not at all cramped due to the room being large. The rooms were cleaned everyday with fresh towels & bedding. There was 2 outdoor pools & one indoor, a gym, sauna/steam, pool side games, nightly entertainment, pool side bar, cushioned sun beds & parasols. We went bed & breakfast & i have to say I normally go self catering but there was a varied choice such as cooked breakfast, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, bread, rolls, cheese etc. Also even though it was peak season there was always tables free & we never had to queue. I think being able to eat from 7am to 9.30am was the reason & it was very nice being able to lie in a bit later. The hotel grounds were lovely & well maintained with lots of lovely flowers/trees. The rest of the hotel was lovely & clean & the reception area was a good hideout when it was really hot as the air con was to die for. The hotel staff were very very nice & i actually did not meet one unfriendly staff member. I have saw some reviews where people complained about paying for safes & the fridges. I think this is unfair as for 2 weeks the fridge & safe only cost £40 which i think was worth it. We were in the room right next to the lagoon pool & being able to run in & get cool drinks for the pool was a god send. Also remember it is a 3 star hotel & normally safes & fridges would only be complimentary in 4/5 star hotels. No-one that was in our party expected these services to be free. Overall i thouroughly enjoyed my stay as did my 27 wedding guests. I would highly recommend this hotel & would definitely go back in the future.
Basic, but clean - very friendly staff
We are a mid 40s couple and stayed for 2 weeks in early June. We were half board, but traded in our evening meal for lunch on several occasions. There are plenty of decent restaurants in the vicinity and roughly paid 20-25CYP for 2 course meal incl wine. The indoor pool was empty most of the time we were there, so a peaceful swim away from the kids was enjoyed. Entertainment was not brilliant - a few quizzes, etc and a greek night, but nothing apart from that. With the exception of a 70s night where a few english teenage boys did some dancing / moonwalking, - best entertainment of the fortnight!!! I would rate the food: Breakfast - very wide choice Lunch - variety of food available Dinner - soup was excellent, BBQ not so excellent, other nights were average. The rooms and hotel were clean, and all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The travel shop in the hotel reception was practically empty, so had to go to the supermarket for water, etc. The fridge in the room is a must to keep drinks cool, but is expensive when you are there for two weeks. Supermarkets do vary in price a lot so shop around. We did hire a jeep for 3 days through Cy Breeze on the main road and you can haggle the price, which works out cheaper than going through the travel rep. Same with day trips, we booked these through Jo at the British shop on the main road. Local transports is 80 cents per journey and takes you to Coral Bay in one direction, or the harbour in the other. Beware of timeshare touts when you visit the harbour. Easily recognisable by the scratch cards they thrust in your face! They are limited to a short stretch on the sea front, so you can easily avoid them. The harbour has lots of places to exchange travellers cheques. Better rates of exchange than at the Kissos, and they also accept sterling. There is a main bank at the top of the street where the Kissos is situated, and they offered the best exchange rate but you do pay a commission - and it is on each cheque cashed, so go for big denominations. Paphos appears to be rapidly expanding judging by the number of building sites everywhere. There are villas being built behind the Kissos, but there was not much noise disturbance. We walked to the beach a couple of times, but preferred the beach at Coral Bay. If we returned to Paphos we would defintely stay at the Kissos again - but would (as others have mentioned) probably book a superior room for the extra space. We had the advantage of staying in a family room, so had a couple of extra beds for our cases etc, but would have been cramped without that.
fantastic stay
My mum and I stayed here for two weeks. We have had a wonderful time. ALL of the staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. All areas of the hotel are very clean, the rooms are light and spacious and the grounds are filled with colourful sunflowers and gerainiums. We stayed B&B which i would recommend as the food isn't the best espacially if you do stay the 2 weeks, although the breakfast is lovely. The Kissos is ideally situated on a bus route to the harbour and coral bay and is surrounded by bars and very good restaurants. We recommend Fat mamas (don't have a starter & main as portions are huge), San Marinos (family run traditional greek food, delish), the Italian across the road from the Kissos. By May 2008 there will be a manmade beach @ the end of the road whick will be great. Would definatley visit again. such good value for money. Overall a great place for couples and familys.
Very nice hotel
Myself and Fiance stayed at the kissos hotel between the 17th June and 1st July We found the hotel to be very nice and clean and most of the staff friendly. The rooms are average size with air conditiong which we need as it was very hot with it reaching 116 f one day. The swimming pool was cleaned every morning and checked in the afternoon. The only thing that annoyed us was that if you wanted the fridge you had to pay £2.50 c.y.p per day. The same as if you wanted Tea and Coffee facilities. also we hired the saftey deposit box which cost £21.00 c.y.p for 2 weeks when checking out they told us it was a rental price and not a deposit which we found out of order. The location of the hotel is ok it is near the Tomb of The Kings and many bars and restaurants also is a short taxi ride to Kato Paphos where ther are many more pubs and restaurants and also Bar Street where all the main nightlife is , average taxi fair £4 c.y.p. Myself and my fiance would return yo this hotel but would take more money with us.
Not bad, basic but clean.
Stayed for 7 days in early June with my girlfriend on the top floor of one of the superior rooms. Most visitors were British although there was the odd other. The rooms cannot be described as superior. They are actually quite basic although they are spacious. The location of the superior rooms is good because I imagine it is much quieter than the main hotel block. Good Points: The air con in the room was very effective. The fridge had a freezer section. Good for freezing bottles of squash to slowly melt throughout the day. The lock on the fridge could easily be manipulated in our room = free fridge ;) The hair dryer was quite good according to my girlfriend. Good clean pools. Good clean everywhere. Friendly staff. They have a room for your baggage if you are leaving late and also a courtesy room which you can use for free to shower and change before you leave. Very useful. Bad points: The shower although powerful had a habit of intermittently going cold for a few seconds before getting very hot and then settling down again. It was a good job it went cold first as that was your cue to jump out of the way of the hot water that was about to come out. The fridge costs 2 CYP extra a day and it hums at night. TV was poorly tuned in. Breakfast wasn't that good. Open 07:30 to 09:30. By 09:00 the cereal was going a bit stale. There is a continental selection of cheese & meats as well as a UK style cooked effort. It was the same every day though and quality wise not great. Don't include it, eat out as there's loads of places about. The mattresses were hard. Imagine sleeping on one of those lightweight foam camping mats placed on a stone floor. The beds themselves were two singles pushed together and were on wheels which was inconvenient as they moved about. Tea making facilities if you want them cost 1.50 CYP per person per day. Other points: The beach is more like 200m away, not the 50 described by the website. Also it is not a great beach. You're better off going north to the Coral Bay beach. Location is quite good. Lots of places to eat within walking distance and many bars. Travel is good. Just 80 cents a journey by regular bus. We used it a lot to get to the Coral Bay beach and the harbour area. Having used the courtesy room which I must assume was one of the standard rooms it was a lot smaller than the superior room. There was no fridge and the standard of he fitting was not as good. Also the superior room had a couch that turned into a bed if you needed it. Also, we booked early and direct with the hotel and got an early booking rate of 44 CYP per night including breakfast. Regards, Matt
Very Nice but basic 3 star hotel
We have just returned from a four night stay at the Kissos hotel with our 5 year old twins. We asked to be upgraded to a "Superior" room at a cost of £18 per night as it was more spacious. Although it was in a better location by the lagoon the room was anything but superior, it was very standard! The tea making facilities were an additional £1.50 pppd and the fridge cost £2.00 per day, so if you are going for 2 weeks take plenty of money! The hotel itself is very relaxed and informal, a little bit tatty around the edges and the reception area is like something from an 1970's hotel in Bournmouth! The breakfast is ok, the kids enjoyed it especially the chips for breakfast! On the whole we had a pleasant stay, the Hotel Kissos is nothing fancy and I would say it just about reaches the 3 star mark. On a plus side its in a good location, plenty of restaurants around and close to the beach.
Good Value For Money
Have just returned from a week at the Kissos and i was sad to leave. The hotel itself is good value for money, nipping clean with friendly and helpful staff. Personally didnt get down for breakfast that often due to late nights, but the food was adequate, buffet style. Plenty of loungers round the pools, maybe as start of season. Many of the people we spoke to returned yearly, one couple were on their 25th visit. Each day a english film was shown in your room at 5 - something for me to watch while the girlfriend dried her hair. Handy for some bars/restaurants but in the quieter part of town, easy bus to port, and we walked to old town twice (better exchange rate and cheaper ciggies here). Some places we visited : Kingsgate (opposite Tomb of the Kings), excellent salads, cheap beer, friendly service Chloes Chinese- excellent meal, they coped with 27 hungry people Theos (port area) Excellent Tiger Prawns-little pricey Doumos - Pizza-thin and crispy, design your own Phuket - Thai and Chinese probably our best meal of the week Island Blue-great for snacks, late brekkies etc Went to a wedding reception at Zaffron and it was absolutely fabulous. All in all we had a great time, and the Kissos was part of this,i have been in some fabulous hotels but have paid top dollar for them, this hotel is great value for money.
