First class accomodation and friendly helpful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our two day break. Darkest Muncaster was amazing and the Owl Trust collection brilliant. Having the run of the castle grounds to yourself before opening times was a unique experience. Breakfast was lovely and set us up for a days walking in the beautiful hills within minutes driving distance of the castle. We'll be back.

The modern, comfortable accommodation is situated in the converted stable block of Muncaster Castle.
The rooms are small but comfortable and the accommodation also has a communal lounge and fully fitted kitchen - should you wish to go self catering.
A hearty breakfast is served in the tea room across from the stable block. Staying in the accommodation enables you to take advantage of exploring the beautiful castle grounds and Owl Sanctuary (free).
The castle itself is well worth a visit but a car is essential for exploring nearby towns and sights.

Amazing site, friendly staff, very clean and comfortable.
The House is very interesting, the views incredible, the owl trust superb.
You can walk to Ravenglass steam narrow gauge railway which is a great trip, and there are great walks everywhere. The Ratty Arms great for beer.
We are too early for the gardens to be at their best, but clearly incredible a little later in the year.
