Advance Hotel Barcelona

Overall I had a very positive stay at this hotel. The Hotel is located in a very nice position - close to the centre of things in the city, but nice and quiet too. The hotel is very modern, but tastefully designed. We got a pretty good deal there too. I would say that the hotel offers good value for money (don't bother with breakfast though, there are many wonderful bakeries nearby (espcially Forn Mistral)). Now the downside! My fiance and I stayed at Hotel Advance for 4 nights, we were very pleased with the hotel room and friendly, helpful staff. Our room had a large terrace and a fantastic double power shower. The reception/rooms are very stylish and the reception area smells amazing!!! It is only 5 mins walk to the placa catalunya and same to the top of la ramblas. Fantastic hotel and location, highly recommended.

We've just returned from 4 nights at the Advance Hotel with our 4 year old and 16 month old daughters. The staff were very friendly towards them and certainly made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The English of the staff was hit and miss, although all tried their best. They seemed to have a couple of native English speakers whom they paired up with the non-speaking staff, so you could normally get your message across. Taxi drivers still dont know the hotel,reccomend you take a map showing the location. Very close to starting point for yellow tourist buses, hotel will sell you a pass,2 day pass best value. Hotel is boutique style. stylish,modern decor and bathrooms. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Central hotel, although taxi drivers seemed to battle to find it - not sure why?? Close to La Ramblas and approx. €7 - €10 taxi drive to the port area. Quiet and elegant.

Me and my partner stayed here in april for 3 nights. we loved the rooms, very modern and gorgeous bathroom, the power shower was excellent. The hotel has lovely staff who were very welcoming and friendly. Its a very quiet hotel and the location is superb, only few steps away from the main square. The only downside to this hotel is that the tv could do with a few pay per view movie channels as most of the channels are in spanish and also it didn't bother us but there's no bar on the premises andf its a non smoking hotel, we loved it tho... more

This hotel was in a fantastic location. 5 minutes from las ramblas and less than a minute to the nearest metro - Universitat. Top tip would be to avoid paying for breakfast at the hotel. Luckily we didnt as there wasnt alot of choice and its far too expensive. There are a number of bakeries that are cheap and cheerful around the hotel vicinity. Rooms were small but clean and bathroom was very contemporary. Stayed for 3 nights and only saw 3 members of staff the whole time. Very quiete hotel but would definatly recommend it.

Exellent location!! central, but quiet (5 min walking to "Las Ramblas"). We didn't have breakfast in the hotel because it's expensive, also being close to so many cafes and restaurants it is not needed! Trust me on this. I have just return from 3 days at Hotel Advance and I recomend this hotel to everyone who wants a small and quiet hotel near the center. It's situated a few minutes from the ramblas and Plaza Cataluña. The decoration it is a bit minimalist but nice. The rooms are not too large but the bathroom was fantastic. Seems to me a business hotel and maybe not indicated to those who travel with children. I can often spend ages looking for a hotel but for some reason was drawn to this one despite not being able to see any pictures of it before we went (as it was brand new). The hotel is located in a beautiful, stylish and recently refurbished modernista building. Staff are friendly and helpful. Our room looked out on to a typical Spanish street just a few minutes from Placa de Catalunya. The bathroom was to die for. We will definatley stay here again, next time we come to Barcelona.
